(Reiner's POV)

"Come on, Laken! Attack me already!" I yelled as I watched her struggle to her feet.

"Okay, I'm ready." She said while panting.

Only I wasn't the one who was ready. I caught a glimpse of Krista and Ymir fighting. Krista was so strickingly beautiful. 'I'm gonna marry her one da-'. I was cut off by a tiny fist cracking me in the jaw.

"Ohhh! Damn that hurt!" I yelled to my opponent. I picked myself off the ground and walked over to Laken. "Good job, way to catch me off guard." I said, fist bumping her.

"Yes!! I finally did it!" Laken yelled as she threw her bloody fist in defiance.

"Okay, okay. Ready for the next round?" I said.

"Wait, I think we need to discuss your little distraction. Wanna go get some water and talk about it?"
She said while placing a hand on my shoulder.

"N-no, w-what distraction?" I said while rubbing the back of my neck.

"Whatever, come on." She said and pulled me away. We walked up to the watering station and sat down, each grabbing a pouch.

"Okay, there's obviously a reason why I knocked you on your ass today. The only person that can do that is Annie. You were distracted by Krista, spill." She said why taking a sip of water.

"W-well, ummm. Ever since the first time I laid my eyes on her I can't get her out of my head. I feel like I'm in some sort of dream." I admitted while rubbing my neck. "I don't know what it is. She's the first thing I think of when I lay down at night, and when I wake up she's the first thought in my head."

Laken looked up at me with wide eyes. "I think you like her Reiner." She said with a small smile on her face.

"It's just, when I see her. I picture us together outside the walls. We're happy. It's like I can't shake her from me, and I'm not even sure if I want to. Every time I see her, it's like my heart skips a beat and my hands feet all sweaty. Kinda like Bert does when you're around."

She looked up at me and blushed. "Does he really do that when I'm around? I hadn't noticed."

"Oh you don't know the half of it! When you're not around he just sits there on his bed with a huge grin on his face. I'll ask him what's wrong and he'll just look at me, and I know it's you. He sleeps pretty early so he can wake up sooner just to see you."

She looked down, playing with the dirt. Her cheeks turned a dark shade of crimson.

I looked down at her and placed a hand on her frail shoulder. "See, that feeling you have right now is exactly what I feel when I see her."

She looked up at me and placed a hand on my shoulder as well. "Reiner, i-i think we're in.." She swallowed loudly. "... love."

I raised a questioned brow. "H-how do you know?"

"I don't know, it's hard to explain it. But, when someone is your only waking thought, in a world full of monsters, I think that means something." She said. "We have to do something about this Reiner."

"But Laken, what if she rejects me?" I said with a frown.

"Seriously? Reiner. Look at yourself. You're a big, strong, handsome guy! And you're blonde which makes it like twenty times better because she is! Just walk over there and talk to her." She yelled at me.

"Okay, only if you talk to Bert."

"Why do I have to talk to him? Shouldn't it be the other way around?" She questioned.

"Do you really think, that the gentle giant Bert, will come clean?" I argued.

"Well, he did kiss me, first." She argued back.

"Laken just do it, he'll be thrilled!"

She looked down and played with her thumbs. "Okay, okay. I'll do it. Well, We'll do it, tonight. You grab Krista at dinner and I'll do the same with Bert. We'll take them outside and confess our freaking love to them."

I listened to her plan and thought over it. "Screw it." I said as I threw my hands in the air.

"Let's do it."
