I live with a vampire and his vampire servants [Book 2 Chpt 3]

Chapter 3 - Georgia

I put my bag over my shoulder and shut my bedroom door. I had my book in my hand that I started to read last night. I only read the first three pages and then I had to go to bed. But it's actually interesting. So far. It's kind of strange how Jordan knows what kind of books I like to read. He picked the right one.

I went downstairs.

"Are you all set?" Nile asked as I came downstairs.

"Yeah. You can ride in the front." I said.

"Why?"

I showed him my book. "I want to sit in the back and read."

"Okay, whatever."

"See you after you get back from Nick's!"

I turned around and Gracie stood over by the stairs.

"Okay, see you then."

"Jordan is waiting in the car." Nile said. "Let's go."

"Okay." I waved to Gracie and headed out the door with Nile.

Jordan was out front in Nile's car. We're taking the truck. The truck is fine. Actually it's the only car I've been in since I've lived here. All those cars in the garage and I always take Nile's truck. Not that there is something wrong with it. Just saying . . .

I got in the back of the truck and Nile sat up in the front.

"I don't bite you know." Jordan said looking back at me.

I thought about that. He doesn't bite . . . I laughed to myself. Of course he bites he's a vampire.

"I know." I said. "I just felt like sitting back here."

He smiled showing his pearly white teeth that were fangs. He started driving away from the mansion and we were on our way to Georgia.

I sat in the back seat with my book in my hand and listening to the radio that one of the guys had it on. It was silent in the car until Nile broke the silence.

"Hey Jordan, are you going to right way?" He asked.

I put the book down and looked out the window. It was all forest around us.

"Yeah Jordan, you sure you didn't make the wrong turn?" I asked. "They live in a city not the forest."

"Huh?" He looked around his surroundings.

"You're going the wrong way." I said.

"Uh . . . sorry . . . I wasn't paying attention to where I was going."

"What?" Nile said. "Does that mean you didn't know where we were going from the beginning?"

"Um . . . I don't remember."

"Jordan are you okay?" I asked. "You aren't really acting yourself."

"Yeah, I'm fine." He said taking his hand and brushing it through his hair. "I just kind of zoned out."

Nile groaned and opened the glove department. He got a map out and opened it.

"What was the last turn you took?" He asked Jordan.

"I don't know."

Jordan took a right on to a dirt path that led out in to the woods.

"Jordan where you going?" I said putting my book down on the seat.

He didn't answer and kept his eyes on the road.

"Jordan?" Nile said.

He didn't answer.

"Jordan." He put his hand on his arm and shook him.

"What's going on with him?" I asked Nile.

"I don't know . . . Jordan? Buddy. This isn't funny Jordan."

The car was speeding a little more on the dirt road.

"Where you taking us Jordan?" I asked but there was no reply.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" Nile asked angry.

Jordan's eyes looked . . . pale. They looked hazy like he was lost in a whole different world. Something isn't right with him.

The car sped up faster. And the path was ending.

"We're going to crash!" I yelled at Nile.

"I don't know what the hell is wrong with him!" He yelled back.

Jordan kept going in the woods not even caring the tree branches were hitting the car. The branches flew back as they snapped. You couldn't see a lot in front because there were so many trees. And eventually we're going to hit one of them.

"Stop him!" I yelled.

"With what?" He yelled back at me.

"You're a vampire! Do something!"

The car was bouncing up down because we were off the road and on a bumpy surface. I was holding on to the seat making sure I wouldn't get knocked into the door or something. Nile unbuckled and put his hands on the steering wheel and tried turning it.

"It's either stuck or Jordan has a very tight grip." Nile said straining to turn the wheel.

"Turn it!" I yelled.

"I'm trying."

I was getting nervous. We're going to crash into something.

"Work with me Jordan!" Nile yelled.

I looked ahead to see if I could see if we were going to hit anything and a saw something moving. I didn't quite catch what it was until we got closer. I started hitting Nile.

"What?!" He screamed at me.

"There is water up ahead!" I yelled.

"What? There isn't some water out in the middle of nowhere. It's probably just a pond."

"Look you idiot!"

He looked over and trees were clearing out and we weren't hitting anything. The river's current was moving fast.

"Damn it!" He yelled trying to turn the wheel.

I scooted up toward the front and tried helping Nile move the steering wheel.

"Ugh! It's no use!" Nile said.

"Take the keys out of the ignition!"

He went for the keys and pulled them. But he didn't pull them. He was trying to pull them but they wouldn't come out.

"I'm getting pissed at my car right now!" He yelled pulling it harder.

"Jordan." I said shaking him. "Wake up! Do something!"

He just stared out in thin air. Like his soul was gone but his body still remained alive.

"Goodbye car." Nile said.

"What the hell are you doing?" I asked.

"Saying goodbye to my car." He rubbed the interior. "Goodbye Becky."

I slapped him. "Shut up!" I yelled at him. I started shaking Jordan. "Wake up Jordan!"

We started getting closer to the water.

"Move!" I screamed.

I saw him blink and the haze from his eyes cleared. The car screeched to a stop fast and jerked all of us forward. The truck stopped not too far from the water. I slid down in the seat relieved. My heart was pumping fast and my breathing was heavy. I looked at Nile who had a hold of the car door but was relaxed. I looked at Jordan who was rubbing his head.

"What just happened?" He asked.

Nile slapped him on the back. "Other than you getting me a new paint job . . . not much." Nile said angry. "Get out of the car." He said. "Kiara get in the passenger seat."

I opened the door and we all swapped places. I was in the passenger seat, Nile was driving, and Jordan sat in the back.

"I'm telling you. What the hell is wrong with you?" Nile yelled backing up his car through all the trees again. It was a clear path sense Jordan made a path way.

Jordan rubbed his eyes. "I don't remember."

He's acting strange. I wonder what happened.

"Is this it?" Nile asked looking to the right.

"Yeah this is it." I said.

It's a beautiful house Nick is living in. Not like his other house. It was all plain and normal but this one is big and it has a porch rounded off on to the side and their backyard looks big.

Nile took the keys out of the ignition. "Now it comes out." Nile said.

I laughed and got out of the car. Jordan got some of the bags out of the trunk. He looked at me still a little in shock from not knowing what was going on.

"You okay?" I asked.

"Yeah." He said looking away. "I just . . . don't know what happened."

I took a bag from his hand. "Well, you looked pretty out of it if you ask me. Your eyes . . . didn't look the same."

"What do you mean?"

"I don't know . . . they looked . . . cloudy. Kind of hazed."

"Kiara."

I looked over. Nick came down the sidewalk toward me and gave me a hug.

"I missed you kid." He said.

"I missed you too." I said.

He let go of me but had an arm around my shoulder.

"What happened to your car?" He asked.

"Don't ask." Nile said and slammed the trunk.

"Come on Autumn is inside. She wants you to meet someone." He said dragging me up the sidewalk.

"You never told me there someone else?" I asked.

"Next time we're taking your car." I heard Nile whisper to Jordan.

I ignored it and went inside with Nick. They had wooden floors and white walls inside. In front of me was the staircase that led upstairs with a white railing. To the right of it was a hall that led to another room to the right. To my left was the living room and to my right was the kitchen. It was kind of the same setup of Nick's house but it was much bigger and roomier.

"Is that you Kiara?" I heard Autumn yell.

"Yes." Nick yelled back.

I heard footsteps and then looked over to my left. Autumn looked all bubbly. Like she just couldn't hide something from me and she just had to scream it out.

"Kiara, I want you to meet someone."

I questioned to myself in my head. Who could it be? Was it a relative of theirs? Maybe a friend?

"Jaylee." Autumn said to her left holding out her arm.

A girl came walking over. No older than six. She was probably five. She had black wavy hair that came down to her shoulders. She had pale skin but not as pale as a vampire. Just a regular pale skin like any normal human would have. She had dark eyes that looked scared. Maybe because three strangers were standing in front of her. But from my point of view. Why is a girl that I have never met standing in front of me?
