. Chapter 5 .

"What we watchin'?" Dean asked, looking expectantly up at Sam with bright, sparkling green eyes, making his heart melt at the adorable sight.

He put his arm lovingly around the three year old and explained that they were watching Big Hero 6, because Gabriel had insisted that it was a 'must need' in their 'childhood'.

Gabriel pouted next to him. "Why don't I get an arm around my shoulders, Sammy?"

His golden eyes seemed brighter as Bobby flicked off of the light. His hair seemed to glow from the light in the kitchen, and Sam had to bite his lip from looking at the angel's welcoming lips.

"Sasquatch, in my father's name are you staring at me like an an idiot?" Gabriel's voice broke Sam out of his gaze, the longing look that Gabriel had noticed disappearing from his face. And if Sam wasn't sure, he'd think the angel's face was red.

So Sam did the logical thing.

He leant forward and...bopped him on the nose, making Gabriel just glare.

Sam noticed how incredibly close they were, but leant back immediately as he felt a small finger poke his cheek.

"Da movie's starting, Sammy." Dean whispered and moved over as Cas scrambled up next to him, Dean moving to his lap, almost naturally.

Sam nodded, a little dazed as the opening of Big Hero 6 came on.

I am not gay, I am not gay... He thought as he tried to look concentrated on the movie.

"What's the matter, Sammy?" He felt someone whisper softly in his ear, making him jump.

Sam felt his face go red as Gabriel stifled a laugh and sat back, looking at the movie as if nothing happened.

Dammit, He scowled mentally. I think I am gay.

After the movie had finished, Dean trying to hide yawns behind his hands and Cas hiding his in Dean's soft hair in front of him.

"I think some hardworking demon hunters are tired..." Jody said, scooping Dean up who smuggled into her stomach immediately.

Bobby hefted the older boy up, but Cas shook his head slowly.

"I think I can-" and at that, his lights shut off, a faint snore coming from the now sleeping angel.

Bobby just smiled at him as he followed Jody up the stairs to put the children to bed.

Gabriel sat across from Sam, a silence falling over the two.

Gabriel looked around the room; for once he was at a loss for words, and wouldn't look at Sam.

"What happened?" Sam asked, breaking the awkward silence.

"What do you mean, Sammo?" Gabriel replied, his ego and cockiness shining in his words more then ever.

Which Sam noticed, and turned a hard stare to him.

"You know exactly what I'm talking about. Ever since...you came back, you've been acting stranger than you normally do."

Gabriel sat quietly, listening intently to what Sam was saying, and Sam was a little worried that he was mocking him.

He gestured to the angel, "See? The old you would have said, "gee, thanks" or something. The Trickster does not pause to ask if he can have chocolate cake."

Gabriel sat still, still not saying a word.

So Sam just waited for an answer, but it never came, because Jody came back down and looked between the two, noticing the tension that seemed to have settled between them.

So she just whispered, "I'm ah, just going to go to bed. So, goodnight."

Sam smiled as if nothing were wrong.

When she went to bed, flicking off the lights, Gabriel went to say something, but Sam stopped him with a hand.

"No, come to me when you have an answer." He got up, ready to walk to bed and sink into the warm and fluffy comforter.

"Sam..." He heard a heartbreaking voice say, and he turned around, looking gently at Gabriel.

"Yeah?" He said softly.

"Why...why do you care?"

Sam stopped.

Why does he?

"You're apart of Team Free Will, are you not?" He concluded, and then left Gabriel to occupy himself with his thoughts.
