Story

So this is the story Vanáeze and I wrote from my point of view.

I stood by Vanáeze, watching as the dwarves were escorted into Mirkwood. Ada had put the two of us in charge of watching this group when they left Rivendell. I don't know why he chose me, for I was the youngest. But I've been told that I act a lot older than my age.

Vanáeze looked at me. "What do we do?" She asked quietly.

"We follow them" I replied, in an equally soft tone.

We nodded at each other, confirming the plan. We had been planning this for a while. It had been quite easy, for I was used to planning things like this, for I did that a lot growing up. I smiled slightly, remembering the time I had secretly stolen the pastries...

I snapped out of my thoughts, realizing that I was getting off topic-like I always do. But they were good pastries.

We jumped out of the tree we were in, landing silently. We stayed in the shadows, being careful not to be seen.

Once we were certain that no one was around, we went into our cat forms. Yeah, we can shape-shift. Maybe I should have mentioned that earlier.

I looked around, scanning the area. I saw an orange kitten behind me, and knew that it was Vanáeze. We had agreed on having a kitten, for that would look more natural.

I walked forward, heading to a passage that I knew of. We tried to avoid being seen. We soon arrived at the palace.

"Why did I have to be the kitten? I'm older than you Dess!" Vanáeze said, using the cat language. To any others, we would be meowing. But cats can understand other cats, as well as some other animals, and we were no exception.

"You might be older than me, but I'm more mature than you" I replied.

Vanáeze rolled her eyes. We had both seen the passage, a hole in the wall leading to the dungeons. However, there was a slight problem-Legolas, prince of Mirkwood, was standing in front of it, blocking our entrance.

"I have a plan" Vanáeze told me. We were really good at thinking of plans. "Go behind that pillar and follow my lead" she instructed.

I nodded, and did as she told me. She walked over to Legolas, mewing. He looked down at her, picking her up.

"Hello there. Now what would a small thing like you be doing out here?" Legolas asked. Vanáeze mewed back.

Getting her idea, I padded over to where they were. Legolas saw me, and looking from her, then to me. He set my 'kitten' down next to me.

"I have not seen you in a while" he said to me. "You are supposed to be ridding the dungeons of mice. But now I see what you have been up to" he smiled.

I mewed and pawed at his feet, but stopped when I felt something grab my tail. I turned around to see Vanáeze playing with it. She mewed at me, giving me an innocent look.

I  pawed her on the head, and she moved on to playing with my paws. I was impressed, she was really selling the whole 'kitten' idea.

Legolas moved aside, looking amused. Vanáeze ran through the opening, and I followed her. We soon arrived at the end, in the dungeons.

It wasn't really hard to locate the dwarves, as they were extremely loud. We followed the noise, and soon came across where they were. My heart fell when I noticed that Thorin wasn't there, but I had to remember our mission.

We went along the cells, seeing that everyone was there except for Thorin and Bilbo. Vanáeze walked into Kili's cell, mewing. I smiled at her playing with his shoelace.

Suddenly, I heard a noise. Walking over to it, I saw Thorin being thrown back into his cell.

"Did he offer you a deal?" Asked Balin, as Vanáeze and I approached.

"He did. I told him he could go ishkh khakfs andu null. Him and all his kin!" Thorin shouted.

I heard Vanáeze snigger, and I shot her a look.

"What? You can't say that wasn't funny." She said.

"Alright. I admit it. It was pretty funny" I replied, smiling.

***

We'd been sitting for a while. It was quiet, except for Vanáeze occasionally attacking me.

"I'll wager the sun is on the rise. Must be nearly dawn" Bofur sighed.

"We're never going to reach the mountain, are we?" Ori asked, his voice filled with sadness.

Just then, a certain hobbit decided to appear. "Not stuck in here you're not" Bilbo said, holding up the keys.

I didn't know what was about to happen, but I knew that it would be an adventure I would never forget...

*^*^*^*^*^*^*

So...Vanáeze and I did this in a conversation we had. I really hope to continue this ^-^
