Chapter Sixteen
*Butter's P.O.V.*
The camp was much different than I last remembered it, or it could have been the fact that it had been six years- but the place had changed quiet a bit. However, the people they were just as strict as I remember. I was assigned a room with a boy named Toby, and we both had the same school schedule. Our first class that Monday morning was teaching us about the New Testament in the bible. I'll be honest, I always went to church with my parents, but I never paid too much attention. I guess I never thought I'd actually be tested on any of that stuff Father Maxi was always on about.
"H-hey, you want to walk to class together?" Toby asked me.
"Well, sure!" I replied.
I grabbed my bible and grabbed a few more things before I followed him out the door. This place didn't seem so bad. Toby was really nice, and although they were all kind of pushy, the rest of the people here weren't that bad either. But I still couldn't help but think back to (Y/N). I didn't even get to talk to after the party. I don't even know what happened at that party, but I must have done something pretty bad- I mean look to where I am now.
"Hey-hey Butters?" Toby called quietly, next to me.
"What is it?" I asked.
"D-do you think we could hold hands on the way to class?" he stuttered.
Ah, he looks nervous. Probably because it's our first day. I can't blame him, but I don't want him to feel scared.
"Well, yeah, if it makes you feel better," I agreed.
He gave me a slight nod and took my hand. I smiled to him, and he slowly gave me a shy smile in response.
At least I can make Toby feel better. I hope (Y/N) is doing okay...
