Chapter Five
The next day at school, I fairly nervous about my evening plans. I decided to take my dad's advice and take her to get some coffee after school, but first I had to find (Y/N). I roamed around the school, hoping I'd run into her sooner than later.
"Woah, Butters, where are you going in such a hurry?" Kyle asked me.
Kyle, Stan, Eric, and Kenney all stood there giving me a curious look. I instantly felt myself panic a bit. I didn't want anyone to know, yet.
"I-I just have to pee!" I instantly said to them, coming off rather aggressive on accident.
"Um...okay man? You know where the bathroom is. There is no need to be so upset about it," Stan awkwardly replied.
"Yeah...I know, my bad," I sheepishly replied.
"We missed you last night Butters. You should have seen it, Token creamed Cartman in COD," Kyle laughed.
"First of all, my controller was broken," Cartman spat.
Suddenly, I spotted (Y/N) down the hall. She was just parting ways with some of the girls, so this was my moment.
"Yeah, my dad said I couldn't go. Next time, I will though- but right now, I don't have time to talk," I quickly said before running down the hall towards her direction.
She turned into our first period classroom, so I slowed my pace to look a little less anxious before I went into the room and approached her. She sat at her desk reading a book, off in her own world.
"(Y/N)!" I greeted her.
She looked up from her desk a little panicked. I must have scared her.
"I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you," I apologized.
She looked relieved to see me. "Hi Butters."
She had her usual shy smile on her face, and boy, did it make my heart flutter.
"Hey, so I was wondering if you wanted to get coffee after school today?" I asked her.
"Today?" she pondered. "I don't think I am doing anything, so yeah, I'd love to."
"Awesome, I'll see you then, yeah?" I said to her.
She gave me a wide smile back and nodded.
I then took my seat, waiting for class to start.
*Your P.O.V.*
I was really excited about my date with Butters later. Throughout the day, we exchanged glances and smiles. Each time, I felt my cheek heat up a little. I really did like him. He seemed really sweet. All the other guys here seemed to be a bit much, and some were even rude, from what I had seen. Not Butters, though, every time I seen him, either with me or others, he always seemed so sweet.
Soon, the day was over, and I waited outside of the school for Butters. It wasn't long before his cheery face came out the door with a bright smile.
"I was looking for you. I-I was scared you left," he stuttered, looking to the floor.
I gave him a reassuring smile. "No, I was waiting here the whole time."
His face soon lit back up. "Well, let's get going."
"Where are we going?" I asked, as we walked.
"Tweak's Coffee Shop. It's owned by Tweek's parents...sometimes I think that's why he's so jittery," Butters admitted.
It was true. The other blonde boy in our class was always on edge. We walked a little way and made small talk. I followed Butter's lead to a small coffee shop that wasn't too far from the school. It was a cute coffee shop. It was very wholesome, and when we approached the counter, Tweek was there working.
"BUTTERS! (Y/N)!" Tweek greeted. "W-w-what can I-I get you?"
I ordered first, and when I got my wallet out to pay, Butters stopped me.
"Don't worry, I'll pay," he said.
I gave him a small smile before putting my wallet. Then Butters ordered his drink. Once they were made, we both took a seat at a small table.
"Thank you for the coffee," I said to him.
"Oh, of course. I couldn't let you pay...I asked you on this...date," he sheepishly replied, almost whispering the last word.
I couldn't help but blush as well. It was true, we were on an official date. I had never really been on a date before, but I was glad it was Butters.
After we got our coffees, we took a seat at a small.
"How was your day today?" Butters asked me.
"It was fine. Pretty usual," I shrugged.
"I saw you hanging out with the girls again. It's good that you get along with them," Butters commented.
"Yeah...they want me to join the cheerleaders, but I don't think that's really me," I laughed a little.
"How come?" Butters asked.
"I don't really like being in front of crowds, and I'm not very loud," I admitted.
"Well, I think if you were a cheerleader, you'd be the prettiest one out there," Butters commented.
I couldn't help but blush. The rest of the afternoon we talked a lot about our interests and friends. It all went by rather quickly, but it was cut short when I got a text from my mother telling me it was time to come home. Butters offered to walk me, and I couldn't refuse. We continued to chat when Butters held my hand in his. His hands were much larger than mine, but they were soft. I didn't protest his action, but I did hide my reddening cheeks. When I got home, we exchanged numbers and said our goodbyes, leaving it to be the best first date I could've asked for.
