Chapter sixteen,

is this a cruel joke?

"Are we almost there?" Citlali's arms were just looped around her moms and Chad, she wasn't at all okay after last night, and she had just despised that this masked killer wasn't even giving her time to grieve her friend.

Mariana was just in very a daze that she wasn't even responding her daughter, as it had made instantly made Chad raise his very own eyebrows at the funny behavior Mariana began to display on the arrival of certain individuals, but he didn't think much of it, as his attention went back to his very own girlfriend who was playing around with with his fingers.

He had gently spoken to her, "I think so. . ." His eyes practically widened at the graffiti of Ghostface that was on the wall, "Swear, how many fans does this masked killer have?" He had retorted.

Citlali scrunched her nose, "Like. . . a lot?" The very sound of Gale's voice ringing was just heard, and that made Citlali smile, "I wonder if she remembers me from two years ago, Anika and I had went. . . uhm, together to her book convention." She had attempted to smile at the damn memory.

Anika wasn't even a huge fan of Gale Weathers, but she went out to support her friend to meet her.

Mindy had simply remained silent around Citlali, she had felt so guilty. She should've let Anika gone into the ladder first. She had felt partially responsible for Anika's death, and just witnessing her brother's girlfriend crying it had made her feel more guilty.

Chad let a gentle smile appear on his very own lips, and pressing a very soft kiss onto his girlfriends forehead, "I'm sure that she does remember you, sweetheart. No one can forget your pretty face. . . and, I'm sure that Anika had an amazing time with you at the convention, because she absolutely loves you, and she always will." He reassured her.

Citlali had gently corrected him, it hurt as well for her to correct him, but she didn't want to have hope that her friend is alive, "Loved. . . she loved me." A frown had just appeared on her lips until her attention was just focused back towards the front of her, and at the very sound of Gale's voice but also some unknown woman.

He given her a saddened look, he felt so terrible for giving her hope that she was alive, but he didn't have a clue. None of them did, he had felt extremely bad for giving her false hope before all learnt of the truth.

   The very voice of Gale Weathers had just sounded snarky to whoever she was speaking with, "It's called investigate journalism for a reason." It sounded as if she was almost just taunting the woman who was with her, "How didn't you find it? Weren't you tracking them?" She remarked.

   Gale's eyes lingered on Mariana Perez for quite awhile, eyes then shifted towards Citlali. She seem familiar, but then her eyes lingered onto Chad who was protectively holding onto Citlali.

   Gale had let out a comment, "Mother like daughter. . . right, Mariana?" She had easily yelled out that interrupted Kirby who paused in the middle of her statement and had glanced behind them, all while Mariana had focused her eyes on Gale.

   The tension between the women didn't seem to go unnoticed by anyone in the group, though it seemed the only one just remaining clueless had been Citlali, as she had instantly furrowed her eyebrows in confusion.

   Mariana glared at Gale, "Shut-up, Gale."

"What is she talking about, Mami?" She was just so confused. What has her mom done that Gale Weathers hate her.

   Gale felt like she hit a nerve, as she didn't want to make Citlali uncomfortable with all of these snarky comments, but she had made one last final comment, "You leave Woodsboro, and you just forget your entire past, especially the past with him? Seems it's just being picked up by these two, I call it fate." She had let that jab easily hurt Mariana who had easily averted her gaze, as Gale was about to continue only to just be interrupted, again.

Kirby had spoken in annoyance, "Quit arguing with said woman, and open up the place. I don't want to spend here any more longer with you than I've already have." She given her a sarcastic smile.

Gale practically scoffed and immediately began opening up the door by sliding the card down, as everyone began to enter inside.

Citlali had remained behind with her boyfriend, "This unknown masked killer also mentioned about you in Woodsboro?" She had questioned her mom, "If there's something that I really have to know, that's just putting me in danger. I need to know, Mami. You have said no secrets, that we promised to tell each other everything, why do I feel like you're keeping something from me?" She had questioned her mom.

Mariana had averted her very own gaze before glancing back at her daughter who was just holding onto Chad, "I'll tell you when we go inside, Corazón. . ." She had exhaled her very own breath, "Because, she has the right to know too, I don't think that I can protect you any longer unlike — Just go inside, Citlali." She sighed, she just wanted to be alone for several seconds, as she watched Citlali just letting go of her boyfriends arm, and walking away.

   Chad had easily clenched his jaw, staring down at his girlfriends mother, "You better tell her on whatever you're hiding, Mariana. She's been none stop receiving constant threats, and also having a mug smacked on her head, a very weird fuck just harassing her. You better not lie and be truthful with her." He angrily told the older woman.

   Mariana just wanted to tell him language with the amount of foul words he had used, but he had a point. So, she let it slide.

Chads eyes had widened watching his girlfriend entering the building, but stumbling onto the second step, "Hold up, sweetheart. The building is dark, let me help you, you just fell off the second step." He shook his head in slight amusement.

   Citlali gasped, "No. I didn't."

Unaware that her mom was already in complete tears. She was afraid of her daughter learning the truth about her biological dad.

The very sound of Sam's voice speaking captured her attention, "What is this place? What's with all the security?" Citlali couldn't see no shadows, as she can assume the lights are off, so she remained beside her boyfriend.

Sound of electricity buzzing, Citlali had noticed that flickering had possibly been going on until the sound disappeared, ears had then focused onto Tara, "It's a movie theater." She given a simple response.

Gale spoken as she had then slowly exhaled her breath, "It's not just a theater, it's a shrine." She retorted.

The very sound of a machine was simply heard that had made Citlali flinch, though she had no idea what was being shown.

Though, she had simply followed her boyfriend who was holding onto her hand, she wasn't aware of Ethan's eyes lingering on her figure and Chads.

He wanted her, and he wanted Chad dead.

She belongs to him.

Mindy was speaking in bewilderment, "They've got the whole goddamn franchise." She retorted.

Citlali's hand had glided on a glass, though she couldn't see what evidence held inside until her boyfriend had spoken, he had just tilted his head, "It's a photo of Billy Loomis very much deceased body, well damn. . . this man just had over thirty five bullets." His mouth widened at knowing his friends father was shot so many damn times.

Citlali paused at the mention of that name.

It can't fixing be possible, right? I mean Initials like that can be similar to others, right?

Citlali let out a humorous joke, "It'd be real messed up if he was my actual dad. . ." She had gently told him before she continued with her statement, "That would also mean, your friend would be my sister. But, there's no way." She had shook her head in denial.

Chad couldn't seem to help himself, but he had ultimately began looking at his friend who was approaching the stage, and his girlfriend. His eyes were just flickering back and forth at the two, he was realizing some similar features, it was then his his averted back to Billy Loomis, and he seen the similarities with the three.

   Mariana had began entering the shrine, though their attention was brought to those on stage who were speaking, as their eyes flickered onto Gale, though Citlali had only managed to hear the woman speak, "Someone who believes that Sam masterminded Woodsboro." She had bluntly announced.

   Mindy easily called out, "If this were a normal Stab movie this would be the killers lair. . ." She slowly paused only for Citlali to hear the unknown woman speak up, "Which means, this isn't a normal Stab movie." She had blurted out.

   The group had remained silent until the sound of someone rushing down the stage was heard, all while someone else had followed into purist, but was ultimately paused.

   Mariana had gently gripped Sam's arm, "There's something that you have to know, Samantha.. . ." She had slowly began that had captured her daughters attention by the voice of her mom, "Citlali come here, please." Her voice was cracking.

   Sam wasn't having none of this, speaking in annoyance, "I don't have time for this, I need to check up on my sister." She declared.

   Mariana had spoken, again, "This is important, she can wait for you." Her voice was getting a little bit higher.

   Detective Bailey had to refrain from smirking. Alongside Ethan, the two found this humorous.

   Citlali had approached her mom, "What's going on, Mami?" She gently questioned her mom.

   Mariana began to sob, speaking to her daughter, "I didn't want you to be apart of this damn franchise. . ." She was fiddling with her own fingers, "And, I thought that I was doing a good job protecting you, but then you met him and it led you to her." Her eyes averted to Sam who raised her eyebrow.

   "Excuse me?" She harshly snapped.

   "I'm not really understanding this , Mami. What do you mean?" Citlali was just so lost, so confused within everything that her mom was rambling.

Mariana slowly began speaking to her daughter, lips were just quivering, "You have a sister, half sister. . ." She had averted her eyes to Sam who just blinked her eyes, all while her heart began to beat rapidly, and waiting for an answer, "Samantha Carpenter." She revealed.

Gale Weathers was astonished, slowly approaching the three women, "No fucking way." She was so shocked at hearing this.

Citlali had easily felt herself beginning to panic at what she was hearing, "Y-You're lying because if she's my sister, that means. . ." Her eyes began to get blurry, the betrayal she felt from her mom, "That Billy Loomis is my dad. No he can't be my dad." She shook her head in denial.

She felt the entire room getting small, suffocating within her own self. She felt so damn confused and betrayed by her mom.

Sam had just easily remained frozen in her place, eyes were staring at the wall. She has a sister, her thoughts went back to when Danny had spoken to her about the accidental bump in that he had with Citlali.

"Your friends girlfriend, Citlali. She looks freakishly a lot like you, Sam. Trust me, she resembles not only you, but what's his name, again?" His eyebrows furrowed with his head titling.

"Billy Loomis?"

"Yeah him. . . damn, you got another sister."

Mariana approached her daughter, and attempting to hold her hand only for Citlali to harshly remove her hand, "Don't touch me, you lied to me for nineteen years. . ." She yelled at her mom before continuing her screaming match with her, "Then who the fuck did you even introduce to me last year!?" She called out.

   Mariana's lips quivered, "An old friend."

   Citlali had practically laughed, "You have friends? I don't believe you, so who the fuck did you make me mourn for months!?" She had given her mom a glare, she knew her mom was in front of her.

   Mariana averted her eyes at Gale before glancing back at her daughter, "Dewey Riley, I just wanted to protect you, Citlali. You have no damn idea how dangerous this franchise even is, I just wanted you safe." She declared to her daughter.

   Gale glared at the woman, "You involved, Dewey? You damaged your daughters head instead of admitting the truth." She practically announced.

   Kirby Reeds eyes were just fucking widening at all of this information.

   Citlali's voice cracked, "Don't you think I know that it's dangerous, I just lost my fucking friend. . ." She reminded her mom before she had continued, "And, now I'm hearing learning that my biological dad was a fucking psychotic fuck, and that I have a sister!? I don't want a sister, I don't want any of this, I hate you." She told her mom.

   Mariana felt tears spilling out of her eyes, voice cracking, "You don't mean that, Corazón. Billy loved you, you brought the best in him. . ." She gently told her daughter, "He was changing for you." She had just attempted to approach her daughter who had easily slapped her on the face.

   "Fuck you, Mariana. I want nothing to do with you. . . you fucking suck, I hate you so fucking much," She sneered at her mom before her eyes were roaming around to wherever Sam was at, "Doesn't matter if we share the same dad, I want nothing to do with you, Sam. You're not my fucking sister, or anything. You two mean nothing to me." Her voice boomed on venom.

   Sam had just felt her words stab her in the heart, it hurt worst than a damn knife stabbing her. Gale noticed the hurt on her face, and had attempted to comfort her, "She's just taking her own anger out at her mom, Sam. And, she also needs time to process everything." She softly told the girl.

   Mariana had been about to run after her daughter only to be stopped by Chad who had gripped her arm, eyes fuming in anger for just having his girlfriend so distraught, "You lied to her, Mariana. She had every reason to know who her biological dad is!" He had sneered at her in venom, as he was going to comfort her only for Mariana to shove him away.

"This is something that I'm going to fix, so stay out of it. . ." She sneered at her daughter's boyfriend, "Stop involving yourself, so much in her life." She commented.

She began to follow after her very own daughter only to just take a momentarily pause when Gale sarcastically spoken, "Don't you remember when Randy Meeks, your very ever first love would just defend you from your dads beatings? Or, are you done with memory lane after she slapped you?" Gale had announced for everyone to hear this confession.

Mariana just easily shaken her very own head, and walking away from the shrine and ignoring the ruckus inside, she wanted to fix her mother-daughter relationship with Citlali.
