LYDIA HEANEY was used to being second in everything. After all, her (fraternal) twin sister is IMOGEN HEANEY, one of the most popular girls at Higgs. Imogen always came first in everything, and Lydia was always trailing behind. Lydia had lost out on a lot to her sister, she lost out of the role of School Prefect, Imogen always seemed to manage to get better grades than her, and popularity wise, Imogen was miles ahead, beloved by mostly everyone.

Though the one thing Lydia had managed to attain, much to the envy of her sister, was a lifelong friendship with none other than rugby king, NICK NELSON. The very boy that Imogen had been pining over for the last few years. Not only was Nick her best friend, but he was probably her only genuine friend. He was the only person who didn't try and befriend Lydia purely because of her sister's social status. Nick's friendship was the only thing that kept Lydia afloat most of the time.

So when the new school term starts back up, and Lydia is thrown a handful of curveballs in her life within just a few months, she finds that she's not quite as ready for change as she often pretended to be.

Enter new, American transfer student, QUINN GOLDMAN, who joins Higgs a few weeks into the new school term. She is the first curveball to come Lydia's way.

Quinn hadn't anticipated her parents separating during the latter part of her Sophomore year of high school, let alone then having to move continents. So, when her mum decided that the two of them needed a fresh start after her split from Quinn's father, off to England the two of them went.

One thing that neither LYDIA nor QUINN were expecting in the new term, was to fall for one another. But after Lydia is assigned as Quinn's student guide on the first day back at Higgs, the two girls soon realise things about themselves that they had never known before.

hi!! omg guys i'm literally so excited to start this fic! i fell in love with Heartstopper as soon as i started watching it and i just had to make a fic for it! it's managed to warm my heart and fill a void left in it by JATP after Netflix cancelled it lol.

Lydia and Quinn are honestly my babies, i love them so so much and i hope you guys end up loving them that much too!! also, i just wanna say right now how much i love Imogen, and having her and Lydia have a rocky sisterly relationship at the beginning is not a reflection of how i view her character lol, she's the loml💓

i'm not 100 percent sure on an update schedule as of yet bc i'm working crazy amounts of overtime at work but hopefully i'll have a rough idea soon!
