Chapter 13

Yoo Ri's P.O.V

I was trying to solve another sum on the worksheet as I waited for Jimin.

And as I was almost finishing the last sum, Jimin came in the room.

He held a tray, which had a glass of water and tablets for me to take.

"I'm almost done with this." I happily told Jimin as I showed him the last page.

He placed the tray down on the table, and chuckled softly.

"I was planning to do the rest while you rested. I'll just find another one then." Jimin said.

"Where did you get these tablets from?" I asked him.

"Mdm Kwon got them for me." Jimin calmly replied.

"Ah... can I don't take these?" I sheepishly asked Jimin. The sight of the tablets made me feel worse.

"There's no choice. I know that if it reaches your tongue, it'll be a disgusting taste, but you have to take it for your own good." Jimin said and I huffed.

"I'll make sure you'll have a sweet treat after you take this, alright?" Jimin assured and ruffled my hair.

I held the glass of water in one hand, and a tablet in the other.

"It won't be too bad as long as your tongue doesn't touch it." Jimin giggled as he stood across me, looking at me.

"I hate getting sick..." I muttered under my breath, before finally taking the tablet. I swallowed it down together with the water, but that bitter taste got to me. It was truly disgusting.

"Good job on not puking everything out." Jimin joked and took the glass of water from my hands away, back onto the tray which was on the table.

I scrunched my face in disgust as I waited for the bitter taste to leave my tongue. Gross.

"You're really cute like this." Jimin said as he looked down at me.

I pouted, no words escaping my lips.

Jimin, on the other hand, used that as an advantage. He instantly leaned down to my face, and gave me a quick peck on the lips, before going back to his original position, smiling widely.

He kissed me on the lips.

My eyes fluttered, blinking so many times, it was impossible to count.

I was stuck in disbelief.

I even started stuttering as if I was a robot glitching and getting out of hand.

Jimin looked down at me with his usual smile, waiting for me to get my senses back. He knew I would end up like this, and that's the reason why he did it.

"It doesn't feel so bitter now, does it? That's the sweet treat." Jimin smirked at me and my jaws dropped slowly. That was incredibly smooth. Yet I'm starting to wonder how he does all these things to me ever so easily. Am I too easy that he can just simply, surprise me?

"I love you, and go get some rest, will you?" Jimin said and I gradually nodded, still amazed by his previous doing.

"Eomma, Appa, you're back~" I quickly hugged my Mother as soon as my parents walked to the center of the house.

Jimin? He was standing aside, awkwardly bowing down at the two.

My mother broke the hug, and she stared at me with a plain smile.

"Jimin, don't be quiet." I frowned since he seemed to be making a distance between him and my parents.

I gestured for him to come nearer, and he did.

"We're not going to hurt you." My father chuckled, knowing how scared Jimin was.

Jimin took gradual steps, still maintaining a distance.

I sighed, then took fast steps towards him. I grabbed his hand and tugged onto it.

"Don't be scared." I muttered, and he nodded.

I dragged him back to where my parents were standing at, and the two looked at each other with a worried expression.

They saw how close I was to Jimin. And they definitely knew something was happening between us.

"I've been taking care of your daughter when you were gone." Jimin smiled sincerely as he patted my back.

"I appreciate that, I really do. Can I have a word with you? Alone?" My mother told Jimin, and Jimin looked at me with a clueless expression.

I shrugged, but gestured for him to go with the flow.

"Ah, of course." Jimin awkwardly said, and my mother smiled.

"You, have a talk with me." My father pointed at me and I huffed while nodding.

My mother and Jimin were walking off to the dining table to talk there, while my father and I just stood at the same position.

When my mother and Jimin were gone, I looked up at my father with innocent pair of eyes.

"Yoo Ri. We're not going to stay here, anymore." My father softly said in a guilty tone, avoiding eye contact from me.

I knew exactly what he meant.

"This is about school, outside. Isn't it? While you and Eomma go overseas for work, I'll have to be out in the real school?" I said and he nodded slowly.

"How did you know?" My father asked.

"I have ears. I hear everything." I said in a emotionless manner.

"Are you attached to Jimin? Actually attached... like are both of you more than just friends? What did you two do when me and your mother were gone?" My father asked, suddenly being paranoid.

I understood what he was trying to get to. I can't get too attached to Jimin, I shouldn't.

"I know what you're trying to say. Can't Jimin just stay with us? He doesn't want to leave, I know he doesn't want to leave..." I said, and my father was surprised.

"You're too attached to him... We're going to leave in 3 days. These 3 days, you can choose to make the most of it, or you can choose to avoid him. But after these 3 days, you won't see him anymore. He'll go back to where he belongs..." My father explained and I was stuck in a daze.

"But he doesn't want to go back... you don't know how much he doesn't want to go back. And he's my first ever friend... Appa, please..." I pleaded, yet not looking at my father.

"Yoo Ri. We can't stay here anymore. We have to move to the city. You can find another friend to make in the new school." Father plainly said.

"I can't just let him go after being attached to him this much..." I murmured.

"Yoo Ri. You love him, don't you?" Father asked.

"He made me figure out what was love. He made me feel things I've never felt before. He's helped me a lot..." I desperately explained in hopes of convincing my father.

"It's not that I don't want him to stay with us. He's a great man. A man I would want to take care of you. But he can't stay. You exactly know the reason why he can't." Father pointed out.

I sighed, hating this moment.

My parents just came back and this is the news I have to face.

"I'll let him go..." I said.

I could feel my heart throb. This... it was hurting me already.

"It'll hurt a lot, Yoo Ri-ah. I'm sorry. I didn't know that this would happen. I just wanted you to be happy. But now the plan backfired. We can't let Jimin stay with us in the city. If someone else finds out, we'll go to jail..." Father said, and I nodded slowly, although I felt my heart tremble at his words.

"I understand... no one can have happiness forever." I muttered, and he nodded, agreeing with my words.

"I'm glad you understand. Me and your mother really have to do this. You'll have Mdm Kwon with you, don't worry. For now, you can choose what you want to do." Father smiled at me, and I looked down.

"Can we not tell Jimin about this?" I asked my father, and he nodded.

"We weren't planning on telling him." My father assured, and I was relieved.

I know what to do. But it'll hurt.

Jimin's P.O.V

Both me and Mrs Jung were seated on the chairs, looking at each other.

"Has my daughter been easy on you?" Mrs Jung started with a chuckle. I let out a small giggle as I shrugged.

"Well, she has been a little too hyperactive." I joked.

"What is it that you wanted to tell me?" I asked Mrs Jung and she shook her head.

"Nothing, actually. Yoo Ri and her father just needed some space there." Mrs Jung explained and I nodded.

"If you have any problems, you can come to me, you know?" Mrs Jung said, as if worried about something.

"I don't really have much problems. It's kind of weird to say it but, being here is a blessing." I chuckled. I'm probably going insane just by saying this.

"Ah... I see..." Mrs Jung said and I was confused at her tone. She seemed as if, tired.

"Do you need to rest, Mrs Jung? You seem tired. I can walk you to your room." I offered, and she nodded.

"Thank you, Jimin." Mrs Jung thanked as both of us stood up.

With that, I walked with her to her room, shared with Mr Jung.

After sending Mrs Jung to her room, I decided to find Yoo Ri.

As I walked down the stairs, I saw Yoo Ri walking up, seemingly upset, and puzzled about something.

I quickened my pace down the stairs, just to get to her faster.

But when Yoo Ri saw me, she stopped her tracks, and quickly avoided eye contact with me. Why?

I tilted my head in confusion, and I could see her lips quivering, as if she was about to break into tears.

"What's wrong?" Were my first few words to her.

Though, she ignored me.

"Yoo Ri?" I said, raising an eyebrow.

She took a step in front, about to walk away from me, but I grabbed her wrist before she could continue.

"Why are you ignoring me?" I asked her, getting straight to the point.

Her eyes were deadly, at that point of time.

"Let go of me." She muttered, and I quickly listened and let go of her.

Yoo Ri continued walking up the stairs, and I followed her behind, trying to think if what I could've done to make her mad.

"Did I do something wrong?" I asked her, but she still ignored me.

"Yoo Ri!" I raised my voice at her, not understanding what was happening.

She was taken aback, so she stopped walking, looking down.

I just scared her...
