I'm Done
She took to the streets in the cold and wet night, devastated and sober. The rain made it hard to see the teardrops in her eyes but I knew she was crying.
"I'm done with you." The words she said with a trembling voice and teary eyes, her arms folded to her body as she shivered while walking. "You're too thin and stupid." Did I mean those words, or was it the whiskey staring at me from the table across the room. "How have I gotten it all wrong this time?" My head in my hands as I stood by the doorway watching her walk away slowly and probably, away from my life. We had spent the whole night hurling words at each other over the text she saw on my phone.
It's too late, she really is done. Her figure faded away in the distant darkness, her reactions after I said those words kept replaying in my head, I felt sorry and I wished I could take it all back, I had realized I didn't mean them, the whiskey had done it again. The past few years had been rollercoasters of love and happiness but lately, it's been one issue or the other and we couldn't stand each other anymore. "Is this how it will all end?, Am I really going to spend the next day without seeing her?" These questions clouded my head. Without much hesitation, I rushed in to get an umbrella, "I have to go after her, I have to apologize" I dashed into the street in search of her.
