'I have a fiancee' is not a good excuse.
"Turn left."
On this sunny day, when I stepped into my new school, I knew that this was a bold decision I made. Attending a public school when you were homeschooled for most of your life is not so easy. Yeah, I went to school way back when I was a toddler.
And I just don't want to remember it.
Right now, I was in Pin- Natsu's car, riding back home. Again, this is risky, but I'm still doing it. I want to have a proper experience of high school life.
"What are you thinking about, Luce?"
"Hm?"
I moved my arm from the window and twisted myself to look at him.
"You were lost in your thoughts."
"I was enjoying the view."
And I didn't lie about it. The view was amazing. The parks were lusciously green and the cherry blossom trees glowing under the sun made it more beautiful.
"It's really beautiful."
"It is."
I turned back to look at him just to find out that he was looking at me.
"Focus on the road." He chuckled.
"I am, but I can't help watch it."
Stupid Dragneel. I don't want to get myself embarrassed.
I raised my brow. He laughed.
"I mean Magnolia isn't just famous for its parks. It is alluring, after all."
See?
"You're right."
"Where did you study before you joined Fairy Tail?" Natsu asked a few seconds later.
"I was homeschooled."
"Homeschooled? It must be a boring life then."
"You have no idea."
"Where to next?"
"Just turn right from the second street."
"You could've told me you lived on Strawberry Street." I shrugged.
The ride throughout was very comfortable.
Why wouldn't it be when you were riding with a devilishly handsome boy in a devilishly handsome car. Oh, the car...
Stop thinking about Dragneel like that! Oh, but his car...
"Just right there!"
I pointed out to my apartment I rented three days ago. The land lady was a bit scary, but she was nice. The only thing that shouldn't bother me but bothered me anyway was the rent.
70,000 jewels is a lot of money.
The car came to a halt as soon as I opened the door.
"Thanks for the ride!"
"Hey, Luce! Wait!"
"Yeah?"
Natsu grinned evilly and I gulped.
Should I be scared?
"We should hang out sometime."
Should I trust him? He's known to be the school's bad boy after all.
"Um, yeah. Sure. Thanks again."
"Anything for you, Luce. See ya!"
He drove away after waving his hand. I unlocked my door and ran straight for the bathroom.
Controlling your pee all the way and acting comfortable is not an easy task. You need to be professional at this stuff.
I was now stuffed with food and lying lazily in my comfy bed. I was done with the book reading and my homework.
Joy.
I was almost asleep when I felt something vibrate under me.
Vibrating? Damn, my phone!
"Hello?"
"Spill it out in one blow, Lu! Did you guys go on a date? Did you kiss? Oh my God, are you his girlfriend now?!"
"Shut up, Lev! Don't hyperventilate. Breath. In and out. In and out. Feeling relaxed?"
"No."
"Good."
"Now tell me all the juicy details about your short trip."
I can imagine Levy being an evil witch brewing a potion and laughing like a maniac. That's a sight I definitely don't want to see.
"Lev, he just drove me back home, and we introduced ourselves a little bit."
"Oh. Okay. Sorry for waking you up. See you at school!"
And she hung up.
Typical Levy. Always tries to ruin my sleep.
The first thing I heard was my alarm blaring near my ears.
I yelled 'shut the fuck up' and threw it on the door.
I love my sleep. No offense.
And after the alarm hit the door, it shut up.
I was dozing off again when a thought crossed my mind.
What if I was late on my way?
Ah, the things I do out of tension...
I groaned loudly and sat up, scratching my hair, my face and my back. Going through the usual morning routine, as I call it, I jogged to school. I like to keep myself fit, and I hadn't even bothered to fix the tyre the other day. The school was a few streets away, anyway.
Out of breath and panting, I waved my hand for Levy to see. Immediately, she responded and walked to me before stopping abruptly. I raised my brow to ask her why when I suddenly felt warmth enveloping me. A chill went down my spine when I heard an all too familiar voice whispering 'missed me?' in my ear.
I spun around in a split second, only to bump in Natsu.
"Hey, Luce- whoa! I didn't know you missed me that much."
I saw him shirtless, only with his pants and a scarf wrapped around him. Why does he wear a scarf when it's summer?
I think I've seen him.
He's hot- no! No, no, no! He's a hot headed jerk.
"Move back, Pinkie."
"Ouch, that hurts."
"Whatever." I mumbled and rolled my eyes.
"Hey Natsu! Hi Lucy!" Levy grinned evilly.
This girl has started to give me some serious goosebumps.
"Hey, Levy! Do you know where popsicle princess is?"
"He's with Erza. Oh, I almost forgot. Natsu, she met Jellal yesterday and is still- you know, mentally unstable."
"Jeez, I wanted to fight that blueberry pie. Well, see ya!"
"What's going on? And who is Jellal?" I asked her.
"Ah, Jellal Fernandes is Erza's childhood sweetheart. Eek! I can't wait to tell you about them. Their story is heartbreaking, but their relationship is quite amusing." Levy squealed.
"Tell me about it."
We had fifteen to twenty minutes before the bell rung, so we walked.
"Okay. Jellal and Erza are best friends from childhood. They grew up in an orphanage after they were freed from slavery. You know the Tower of Heaven, right? It was destroyed because many people fought for their freedom along with Erza and Jellal. They both have a huge crush on each other, but they don't admit. They're deeply in love with each other and are almost inseparable. Trust me, the only person who can tame a monster-like Erza is Jellal."
"Erza? Being a monster?" I laughed. Levy shivered and a look of fear crossed her eyes.
"Lucy, you don't want to see Erza when she's angry. Anyways, you know they were almost about to kiss when...
"When? What? Levy tell me! Come on!"
"Desperate to hear, are we?" She chuckled but continued, "They were about to kiss when Jellal pulled away and said 'I have a fiancee.' that got Erza shocked."
"What the fuck? 'I have a fiancee' is not such a good excuse, right?"
"That's not the main thing, you know. Jellal had been a criminal in the past. That is the reason why he does not confess to Erza. He isn't even engaged. He says that his sins are far worse than he could ever imagine, and he can't risk to be with a girl who follows the path of light while he followed the path of dark. He says that he can't atone for his sins. Since that day, Erza has been a heartbroken woman. Sure, she meets Jellal quite often, but goes mad after seeing him. She always tries to knock some sense into him, and in the result, President Erza Scarlet looses her mind."
"Poor her."
"Yeah, and you know what? Erza had no last name. It was Jellal that gave her the last name 'Scarlet'. He said that it was the color of her hair, and he'd never forget her because of it. This was the beginning of their confusing love story."
"Wow. I loved the story."
"I love it too. Makes me wonder when I will find my knight in shining armor."
"You have Gajeel."
"Ye- wait, LUCY!"
"See ya!"
Good thing the bell rung at the exact same time.
I chuckled and ran. When I turned around to see her, she was still standing on the same place, blushing like a red tomato.
She's so whipped.
