The royal family waited patiently and a few minutes later, the doors to the Great Hall burst open. "Crown Knight Xander has arrived!"

Heavy steps approached the table and the royal family slowly looked at the knight who had come in. The knight was wearing his armor but his helmet was missing and his rowdy dark brown hair, rough face, and dark eyes were out for everyone to see. He seemed a bit tired, but also agitated, as if he had been interrupted from doing something else.

Crown Knight Xander managed to bow before looking at Christopher with narrowed eyes. "Prince Christopher, you called?"

Christopher was suddenly nervous and his hands became sweaty. "Well, Crown Knight Xander, I have a quest for you-"

"A rescue mission. You need to prepare to leave as soon as possible." Callum interrupted, holding a serious look in his eyes. The knight didn't say anything immediately so Callum continued. "My wife's sister has been abducted. She's been trapped in a tower north of our kingdom. Christopher..." Callum looked at his brother for a moment and then looked back at Xander. "Cannot complete this quest so he's requested you to be the one to go and save her."

Xander looked more unhappy, "This princess. Am I just saving her so that Prince Christopher can take the credit and marry her?"

Christopher's eyes widened, "Xander, that's not-"

"Yes. It is. She will be returned home to her kingdom but we will join again when Christopher marries her." Callum sighed, crossing his arms and closing his eyes.

"It sounds boring. Can't you get someone else to do it? My responsibility lies here at the castle...as a Crown Knight or is that just being ignored? I'm supposed to be protecting and saving the royal family." Xander said, and Callum nodded as if he had made a good point.

"You are right, Xander, but Princess Emily is Chloe's sister. She is technically  part of your responsibility since she's my family. I can't leave the kingdom to do it myself and I'm sure those in Chloe's home kingdom are doing their best. There's no one else I believe would actually succeed. We were even lucky to be able to locate her. There's a dragon-"

"You had me at dragon. I'm doing it." Xander seemed suddenly interested. That didn't surprise Callum, Xander was more adventurous than the brothers and secretly wanted to leave more often they knew.

"T-That's wonderful." Christopher was still nervous.

"Princess Emily will come home safely. I swear." Xander smiled a bit.

"Thank you, Xander. I'll reward you myself." Callum looked up at Xander and Xander nodded before starting to take his leave. Christopher had gotten up to quickly grab Xander's wrist.

"Crown Knight Xander, thank you so much. You don't know how much this means to me."

Xander looked back at Christopher and glared at him. "I'm not doing this for you. The only reason I'm going is because of a dragon..." Xander glanced at Callum, "And because a pretty princess should be home in her kingdom, not stuck in a tower." Xander pulled his wrist back and stepped away from Christopher.

"Thank you anyway." Xander rolled his eyes and left the Grand Hall. He went to his room and went inside. He took off his armor and got in his training gear. He felt like he was close to blowing up and needed to let it out. He left his room and went down to the training field where other knights were. It was outside, where there was no hiding from the sun.

The wooden benches surrounding the training field were filled with rich novels watching, most of them were girls, fawning over the knights they thought were attractive. There were all different types of training happening but most of the knights outside were sparring.

When Xander walked out, he easily caught the attention of many. Girls started screaming and trying to get his attention while he just walked into the field after grabbing a sword.

Xander was grumpy but didn't give the onlookers too much attention, trying to focus more on letting out his pent-up energy.

Xander saw another knight coming for him and he quickly blocked the attack with his sword.

"Newbie." He grinned and the younger knight frowned but didn't back down.
