Chapter Six

"What time are you gonna arrive?" that was Zara on the phone. She was referring to the party. I checked the wall clock. It's already 6:20. The party's gonna start at 7:00.

"Well, I'm already done with my make-up and I already wore my dress. " I paused and thought of a possible time. "6:45?" I was hoping that would be okay. Hey, I don't have a car and it's a long way there.

I heard her sigh at the other end. "Fine. Just hurry up, I don't know any of these people" I laughed at her response. "Kk. Bye, DQ" I said then hung up. I put my phone back at my pouch and re-touched my make-up. To pass my boredom, I sang a song quietly.

So don't ever think I need more.

I've got the one to live for.

No one else will do.

I'm telling you.

Just put your heart in my hands.

I promise it won't get broken.

We'll never forget this moment.

It will stay brand new.

Cause I'll love you..

Over and over again.

I stared at myself on the mirror. I've always hated my voice. It always-wait, the last line.. that's not me. I put my lipstick down and slowly turned around. And my eyes met him.

"Hey, Mousie" he smirked and walked towards me. "Hey, Duckie" "So what's up with those" he pointed at the make up scattered around the counter. "and that?" he pointed at my dress. "They're called my make up and dress" I teased and smirked.

He gave me a deadly glare. "Fine, fine. I'm going to a party" I said and chuckled. I saw him nod and mutter something I didn't hear. "I'm gonna leave now" I was about to pass him when he grabbed my arm and pulled me in front of him.

"I'm not yet done talking to you, missy. Who's coming with you?" he said with authority. I raised my eyebrow at him. "Why do you care?" He showed me his serious face. But he didn't say anything. I let out a frustrated sigh. "Can I go-" I didn't get to finish what I was saying when he sighed.

"Is it wrong to care for a girl that makes my heart skip for an unknown reason?"

He let go of my hand and left. "Andrew.." I was already talking to myself. And for some reason, I answered his question.

"No"

"Is it wrong to care for a girl that makes my heart skip for an unknown reason?"

"Is it wrong to care for a girl that makes my heart skip for an unknown reason?"

What does he mean?

"Hey, are you still alive?" a voice snapped me out of my thoughts. "W-what?" It barely came out as a whisper. "Uh-hu, she's dead. What am I gonna do with a dead person? Play monopoly? Geez" I blinked several times. Dead? "I'M DEAD?!" I didn't notice that I already shouted it.

I was breathing heavily while looking at Zara beside me. "Finally, you're awake. People really thought you're going bananas killing that chicken of yours" My what? Oh right, I'm already at the party. Though it really feels like I'm still home. With Andrew.

Ugh, I need to get him out of my head. "Z, I'm just gonna get a salad" she nodded. "Just hurry. I wanna meet the Ellis siblings" she said with admiration in her eyes. Ellis siblings? I just rolled my eyes and left our table.

A lot of people are all wearing a formal attire. As far as I heard, this is a welcome party. But I don't know who for. I don't really care.

After a few turns, I found the buffett table. And since their are many girls who are concered with their weight here, there is no surprise that it will be no salad left. But luckily, there is one left. I was about to get it when another hand butts in.

"Excuse me, this is mine" I can already tell by the voice that it's a brat. Being a good girl, I should just give it and avoid a fight. But what's mine is mine, and that salad is mine! "Uh-no. This salad is mine" I said and got the salad before she can.

But before I can get away, she pulled my shoulder and pulled the salad away from me. "This. Is. Mine. Don't you know who I am, huh?" she shouted. A lot of people are already gasping, whispering and taking photos of us, but I don't care. I gave her a smirk. "With that ugly face of yours? I don't think so"

I can sense her anger rising. Her face already red. She slowly lifted her hand, ready to slap me. Instead of runing away, I stayed. Why not? She's showing the world that she's a.. you know. I closed my eyes, waiting for her hand to slap my cheek. But nothing happened.

I opened my left eye. I saw the girl. She's frustrated, and she's looking at someone. I slowly opened my right eye. Then I got a full view. The frustrated girl is looking at an angel-I mean, a guy. And the guy is holding her hand.

Wait, so he practically saved my life? Oh my God. I looked up. "Let go! Can't you see what's happening?" the girl shouted at the guy. The hot guy gave the brat a glare. "Addy, stop. Do this for me, okay?" his voice is angelic. God. Addy, I think, gave the hot guy a glare back and pulled her hand back. "Ugh, whatever" then she walked out.

I stared at her while she's leaving. Huh, serves her right. "Are you okay?" I looked at the guy who's already in front of me. He's an angel sent from above, hands down. "Y-yes. Th-thank y-you" I stammer and faced the ground. This is humiliating.

Then all of the sudden, I heard him laugh hard. I looked up and gave him a confused look. "What's your name?" he asked and showed me his billion dollar smile. "Raine?" he put his hand out. "Nice to meet you, Raine" I accepted his hand and shook it. I stared at our hands for I don't know how long.

"Yours?" I blurted out. He gave me a surprised look. "You don't know me?" he asked me. Huh? "Should I know you?" I asked back. He shook his head and smiled. "No, no. It's great, actually" I just nodded awkwardly.

There was dead silence until I broke it. "So, your name?" At the same time, he leveled his mouth on my ear. He whispered something.

"Call me Ross"

And the next thing I knew, I was already being chased by photographers, teenage girls, and the brat. And here I am, holding hands while running with the guy I only met a minute ago.

Crazy, I know.
