I Hate Everything About You Ch. 9
To make both of our lives easier, I won't tell you everything that happened from the walk from Cherrygrove to Victory Road. It was just a long, boring walk, with very little breaks and conversations. And I'm not gonna lie, I complained a few times.
But we're finally here. The reception gate to Victory Road. Silver just needs to be checked for all his badges, and then we're in. Well in Victory Road anyways...that's just another long walk I don't want to have to go through.
We stepped inside the heated building, which was obviously warmer than outside. But yes, this time I got my own jacket.
"Can't we just stop here and call it a day...?" I asked after the long silence. "We've been walking since dawn, and now its probably around dinnertime."
"No, I gotta make it to the league before Gold or Lyra gets there..."
"We haven't seen them the whole time we were walking...maybe they're not even here yet..." But of course with my luck, Gold happened to walk through the doors at the right time...
"Hey! What a surprise to see you two here!" He said, coming over and hugging the both of us together.
"Let go, Gold!" Silver growled.
"What did I tell you about touching me, Goldie?" I said, pushing him away.
"If I remember correctly, you said I wasn't allowed to touch you if we traveled together. And we aren't travelling together, so I can touch you all I want!" He said, a bit too loud.
I blushed in embarrasment. "S-Shut up! That's not something you can just yell out loud!"
Gold gave me a puzzled look, until he finally figured out what he just said. His face turned just as red as mine, and he shouted, "That's not what I meant!"
"Just drop the subject, what do you want?" Silver asked, changing the topic for us.
"Well since we're here, why don't we battle? 3 on 3?" Gold grinned ear to ear, pulling out a Pokeball. Silver smirked, accepting the challenge.
"Go, Ataro!" Gold sent out his Ambipom.
"Sneasel!" Silver sent out his Sneasel. "Sneasel, icy wind, then quick attack!" With the move of its arm, an icy cold breeze hit Ambipom...err, Ataro I believe his name was, causing it to use all four of its arms to sheild itself. Before recovering itself, Sneasel attacked it with quick attack, before jumping back to Silver.
"Ataro, show 'em your new move; double hit!" Ataro ran up to Sneasel, its twin tails glowing purple.
"Sneasel, dodge it!" Sneasel avoided the first hit, which slammed into the ground so hard that the tiles cracked. The sharp claw Pokemon couldn't avoid the second hit though, getting hit in the stomach and sliding across the floor. "Sneasel, get up and use slash!" Sneasel got up, shaking off the double hit attack, and running up and slashing Ataro in the face.
A soft rumbling came from my belt, which was my Pokegear. I stepped outside of the building, into the cold, winter air. I unattached my Pokegear from my belt, looking at who was calling. 'Giovanni' was typed onto the lit screen. I hit answer and placed the phone to my ear.
"Hello?"
"Umber, where is he?" I could practically see the scowl on his face to match the low growl he let out. Honestly, I nearly forgot about the mission I was sent on.
"Don't worry, sir, he's with me." I assured him.
"It's been weeks since I set you out on your mission, he should be here by now!"
"We're at the entrance to Victory Road. Once he beats the Elite Four, I'll get him there." I said, mumbling ",somehow," right after.
"Beats the Elite Four?? Don't you know what that would mean?! He'd take us out in no time without even trying!" Giovanni yelled.
"F-Fine! I'll get him there within a month, sir." I said, hoping that would be enough time to somehow trick him to the hideout.
"I want him here in a week. No more than that or you will start living on the streets!" He hissed, hanging up right after.
I slowly put my Pokegear back in its slot on my belt. Silver and I have gotten to be good friends...considering I pushed Team Rocket away from my thoughts for the past few days. I didn't want to imagine the pained look on his face and the hatred in his eyes once he finds out I'm a Rocket.
"You're going to break his heart."
My parent's voices echoed in my head again. Were they talking about Silver...?
With a flash, Dragonair came out of his Pokeball on his own. His eyes were a soft, purple color, clearly showing sorrow or concern.
"I'm fine, Dragonair, don't be worried about me." I said quietly. Dragonair nudged his head against my arm, still showing that same look in his eyes. "I said I'm fine." I said again, this time more sternly. Dragonair didn't believe me, I could clearly see that, and he just kept nudging me or trying to cheer me up a little.
I sighed. "Dragonair, listen to me." He stopped, and looked at me with his full attention. "No more fun and games; we have to get Silver to the Rocket hideout within a week." I told him.
Dragonair's eyes looked hurt this time, and he shook his head no.
"What do you mean by 'no'? This is my job, I picked you out of the others to help me with this mission, so you're gonna help me!"
He scooted back a little, still not wanting to do this. I swear I was growling I was so frusturated.
"Look, I only got you to help me! So don't think that I actually care about you! If you're not gonna help then...then just get outta here!" I yelled, pointing to the right, which led to Viridian City I believe.
Dragonair looked over to where I was pointing, as if he were thinking about it. "Well? You gonna leave or what?" I snapped. He looked like tears could stream down his face any moment. He looked down, and slittered away slowly.
"Good riddance, you stupid serpent..." I mumbled under my breath. I took his Pokeball out of my pocket, placing it on the ground. With as much strength I could, I smashed the ball under my foot. What used to be the capsule I used to keep my dragon with me, was now only a pile of red and white shards. Shoving my hands into the pockets of my jacket, I walked back into the heated building.
Now it was Silver's Feraligatr against Gold's Typloshion. I don't know how long they've been out, but probably a while since they were both on all fours and panting quite a bit.
"Explotaro, use flame wheel to get close!" Gold shouted. 'Explotaro' started running towards Feraligatr, eventually rolling into a ball, covering itself with flames.
"Feraligatr, stop him with water gun!" Feraligatr shot Explotaro, getting rid of the fire and leaving the fire type more vulnerable. The water attack kept coming, and Explotaro was eventually blown back from the power.
"Come on, you can do it!" Gold cheered. "Use swift!" Explotaro got back up, shooting a bunch of stars at Feraligatr. Feraligatr was helplessly hit by the move, considering you could never dodge it without a move like detect or protect...
"Feraligatr use aqua tail!" Feraligatr's tail glowed a light blue-ish color, and hit Explotaro in the stomach with the attack. Explotaro was thrown father back from the attack, slamming into the wall. He landed with a thud, not getting up afterwards.
"You did a great job, now take a rest." Gold said, returning his starter Pokemon. "Nice job Silver, you beat me." He said, grinning once more.
"That's a first." I mumbled under my breath.
"I've beaten him before." Silver said, obviously hearing my comment. "I only lost to him once, back at Blackthorn in our double battle."
"Uh, well I meant the first time I saw you win against him."
He rolled his silver colored eyes. "Of course that's what you meant." He said with sarcasm in his tone.
"So you guys ready to travel through Victory Road?" Gold asked us.
Silver opened up his mouth to begin speaking, but I beat him to it. "Actually I think we're going to travel Kanto first, to get more training."
"Huh? I don't need more training." Silver said, a little taken back.
"I see that, but don't you think it would be better to go get all the gym badges there and then take on the League?" I said, hoping to convince him.
He thought about it a bit, and sighed. "Fine, I gotta visit some friends in Pallet Town anyways..."
Now it was my turn to sigh; this might be a small delay. But it might be better than going to the League. "Fine, then let's go." I said, walking out to the road to Viridian City.
I kicked the smashed Pokeball bits out of the way, hoping that Silver wouldn't notice. He didn't, thankfully. I didn't want him wondering what that could have been, with me coming up with lame excuses.
After a short walk, the green city of Viridian was coming into view. Then from there, we head south, to Pallet Town. That was probably a 20 minute walk, then who knows what he wants to do there.
~~~
We made it to Pallet Town, and it really didn't take all that long. It really was a small town, like one of those places where everyone knows each other and talks to each other. All the houses were practically identical to each other, and then not too far near the ocean was a lab. Professor Oak's lab.
We walked up to said lab, with Silver just walking in. There were a bunch of people in lab coats, who obviously worked there, then some people who looked around my age. One turned their head, noticing our presence.
"Silver! What are you doing here?" She asked, running over and hugging him. He actually hugged back, and I swore I saw a smile on his face.
The girl had long brunette hair, and bright blue eyes. She wore some white and red hat with a Pokeball design on it, with a light blue tank-top and a red skirt. Red wristbands were (obviously) on her wrists with blue legwarmers (once again, obviously) on her legs.
"Oh, who's this?" She asked, referring to me. "Did you finally get a girlfriend?!"
"Wh-What?? No!" Silver yelled defensively, looking away to hide his blush. For some reason, I could already tell I wouldn't like this girl.
"Oh, well it'll happen eventually." She said, sticking her tongue out at him. "Anyways, we might as well introduce ourselves. I'm Blue!"
"Uh...I'm Umber." I said quietly.
"I'm Red." One boy said smiling, walking up next to Blue. He had black hair, with red eyes (which weren't surprisingly intimidating), who wore a black shirt, red jacket, red and white hat, and light blue jeans. "The quiet one on the couch over there is Green." He had green eyes, light, spikey brown hair, and wore a black shirt with purple pants.
"The one at the computer is Crystal." Blue continued. The girl had dark blue hair in two ponytails, with star earrings, and she, along with a few other people, was wearing a lab coat.
"And the one over there with the blonde hair is Yellow. And by they way, she's a girl." Red finished. Yellow had blonde hair, and matching yellow eyes. She was wearing a large straw hat, which actually made her look like a boy. I probably would have thought she was a boy if Red didn't tell me.
"Oh! And Silver, glad you're here." Blue said, fishing around in her bag. "I was meaning to give you these, but never had the chance to." She pulled out a Razor Claw, and a Dusk Stone.
"What are these for...?" Silver asked, looking at the two objects he held in his hands.
"One is a Razor Claw, to evolve Sneasel. The other is a Dusk Stone, to evolve Murkrow."
"Oh, thanks. I'll give it to them later." He said, putting them into his pocket.
"So, why'd you decide to stop over?" Crystal asked, finally stepping away from her computer. "How's Gold?"
"We were nearby, so I wanted to stop over..." Silver started. "And Gold's as goofy as usual."
"That's good, I guess." Crystal said, with a small smile.
"What brings you to Kanto though?" Red asked.
"Collecting gym badges...the right way this time." The redhead said. "I normally would have been heading through Victory Road right now, but Umber insisted that we go into Kanto first."
They continued to talk, and catch up with each other. I don't know how long it's been since they saw each other, but I'm guessing a while judging by how much they're talking. I kinda felt left out, like no one noticed me. I was clearly unimportant, so I walked over to the couch, taking a seat next to Green. He didn't even glance at me, as if he was too busy paying attention to the group conversation, even though he remained silent. I sighed, looking down in my lap. Why was I feeling like this? I don't normally like attention, and didn't care if I was left out, but why the hell was I acting like this now? Arceus help me...
A/N: I know, I gave Gold's Pokemon their nicknames. I meant to in past chapters, but I forgot, so I will fix that soon! And yes, a Razor Claw :3 I spent days on SoulSilver just to get a Razor Claw, and when a miracle came, BAM! It showed up in the story. But seriously...48 BP is WAY too much work to get unless if you get to a Frontier Brain xD Lol as always, I love comments. I don't always reply, but I love 'em. ONES THAT SAY MORE THAN 'PLEASE UPDATE' ARE THE BEST. Just sayin'
Came up with shipping names for UmberxSilver and UmberxGold. I'd like to know if you guys like the names.
Nevermind. No ship names. Because SOME PEOPLE DECIDED NOT TO TELL ME NEOROCKET AND GOLDEN WERE ALREADY TAKEN. Will be posted in chapter 14?
