I Hate Everything About You Ch. 7
I followed Silver out and to some quiet building. We walked inside, and the walls were lined with shelves filled with books. A library I guess?
"You said that the thing you saw in your dreams had red eyes and spikes, right?" Silver asked. His voice echoed through the building.
"Yeah."
He led me over to a table with an opened book. I suppose he was here earlier.
"I looked around a bit and this was the closest thing to the description." He said, glove covered finger pointing to the picture.
"Giratina?"
"Yep. But Giratina is a Sinnoh Pokemon, it won't come after you." He said.
"...Why did you do this?" I asked, looking over to him.
He didn't answer so we stood there in silence. But I didn't find it awkward at all...it was actually nice just standing here in silence other than being yelled at about something.
"I only did this beca-" He was interrupted by the beeping of his Pokegear.
"Silver, we gotta go to Goldenrod's Radio Tower now." Gold said, tone serious.
"Why?" Silver asked.
"Team Rocket has taken over the tower, we gotta stop them. Me and Lyra are already on the way there."
Silver nodded and hung up. "Come on Umber." He said, grabbing my wrist and dragging me out. Once outside, he released his grip on me and released his Murkrow. "You follow me on Dragonair, alright?" I nodded, seeing that I didn't have much of a choice. I released Dragonair and climbed on his back. Murkrow and Silver took off into the skies, while me and Dragonair followed.

We made it to the tower, which was infested with Rockets. Outside we saw Lyra and Gold waiting for us. We ran over to them.
"Alright, so anyone have a plan?" Silver asked.
"Do what we usually do? Barge in and whoop their ass's?" Gold suggested.
"...Sure, you try that while I sit here and figure out a smart way in." Silver sighed.
"We could sneak in...like, dressed as Rocket grunts." Lyra said.
"If they don't regonize us..." Silver said. "Umber, got any ideas?"
"No." I said. You think I'd actually help them break in?
"Tch, fine, we'll go with Lyra's plan." Lyra squealed with joy. "I know just the place to get uniforms!"
"You guys go ahead, I'll meet up with you later." I said as they started following Lyra.
"What? Why?" Gold asked, stopping.
"Er...they'd regonize me even with a uniform. I'm more involved with Team Rocket then you know."
"I'm sure you'll be ok!" Gold said.
"No Gold, I'm going on my own." I glared.
Silver walked up behind Gold. "Come on, if they know her, she could ruin it. Just let her be." He said. Gold sighed, and turned to follow Lyra again. Once out of sight, I turned and ran into the tower.
~~~
I made it to the top of the tower, where Executive Archer was. I walked in, seeing him staring out the window of the tower.
"You are aware that 3 trainers are coming to stop you, right?" I said once I walked a few feet in.
"No problem, the other executives can stop them, or at least weaken them so when they get here." Archer said, completely calm.
"Even though they're planning to sneak in dressed as Rocket grunts?"
"Hm, I'll let the other members know." He said, pulling out something like a Pokegear. He informed the other executives to keep an eye out for Gold, Lyra, and Silver.
"Thanks for the information, uh..."
"Call me Umber." I said, a bit pissed that he didn't know me. But he was an executive, how would he know someone as low leveled as me?
"Oh, your the kid that was taken in after your parents death." He eyed me up and down with a confused look.
"What's your problem?"
"I was never told that you were a girl...I thought Umber was a boy's name."
"My parents were expecting a boy, alright??"
"They couldn't think of a better name?"
"They thought it would suit me, ok?" I said, trying not to snap at him. "Anyways, what are you planning to do with the intruders?"
"See how far they get, and if they make it to me then I'll battle them."
"What if you lose?"
"I assure you I won't lose." Archer smirked.
"Whatever you say..." I mumbled. "I gotta go before they get here; if they see me here it might blow my cover." I turned and began to walk out the door. "And don't tell them I was here." And with that, I left.
~~~
I was outside of the Radio Tower, watching the grunts run out by the dozens. Apparently shortly after I left, the three of them made it to Archer. By the looks of it, he lost. Even after the whole 'I won't lose!' shit. After the others got out, Archer walked out.
"You handled that well." I said sarcastically.
He glared at me. "We still have bases in Kanto, so we're fine. They only won this battle." He said, walking away with the rest of the grunts.
I sighed, waiting for the three trainers to come out. Soon after, I saw them walking out with their starters, all dressed normally.
"See? My plan would have been better." Gold said.
"Whatever, we still managed to beat them." Silver said.
"I'm sorry! I thought that they wouldn't recongize the uniform!" Lyra shouted, almost about to cry.
"I-Its ok Lyra! It's not your fault!" Gold stuttered, putting an arm around her. "Everyone makes mistakes!"
"But how would they notice?" Silver asked. "Someone must have told them, because they aren't that smart to figure it out so quickly...the only other person that knew was Umber..." Everyone got silent.
I panicked, but walked over to them calmly. "I see Team Rocket left the tower."
"Yeah, no thanks to you." Silver spat. "We expected to see you somewhere in there, but no! You were out here the whole time!"
"I helped! Dragonair just fainted and I had to take him to the Pokemon Center!"
"I didn't think you were that weak to be beaten by a bunch of Rockets! Especially with a dragon!"
"Well you know I'm not a very good trainer!"
"I can see that now." He scoffed. "Now tell me, how is it Team Rocket knew who we were when you were the only other one to know?"
"How the hell should I know?!"
"You told them didn't you?"
"Why would I blow your cover? You guys are my friends!"
"Is that so? Or are you just toying with us?"
"No, I'm not! Why won't you believe me?!"
"You weren't there both times that I've-"
"We!" Gold interrupted.
Silver sighed. "Both times that we defeated Team Rocket, they somehow found out about us sneaking in, and your just as weak and stupid as them." He said, glaring at me.
"Silver, she's not weak or stupid!" Gold yelled at him.
"Stop accusing her of being on Team Rocket!" Lyra shouted.
He ignored both of them. "Well? Tell me the truth."
"I'm not on Team Rocket." I said, looking away. "I mean, I have a Dragonair. How many Rocket members would have one of those?"
"Maybe you stole him from another trainer." Silver said.
"Dragonair would be fighting to get away from me."
"You stole him when he was just an egg, or a baby. Weren't you the same person who offered to help me stay away from the police, since you've been chased by the police as well?"
"I was being nice!"
"To hide that your a Rocket?"
"No! You can't just accuse me of being a Rocket!" I yelled. I could practically feel myself sweating.
"Then look me in the eyes and tell me your not." I heard him walk closer, until he stood directly in front of me. I looked up at him, hoping that I didn't show any fear in my eyes.
"I'm not a Rocket." I said, accidently glancing away for a bit.
"Say it again." He glared again.
I took a deep breath and looked him in the eyes. "I'm not a Rocket." I repeated. "Dragonair is my friend, I'm helping you because I want more friends, I don't know how Team Rocket found out, and I swear, next time I'll help you guys as much as I can..." I said, a few of those statements being lies.
We stood there for a long time, and I was beginning to worry if he knew I was lying or what.
"...Sorry for accusing you of being on Team Rocket." He whispered, loud enough that only the two of us would hear.
"It's fine..."
"Well enough of this! We just beat Team Rocket, let's go celebrate!!" Gold declared, heading for the Game Corner. Lyra laughed and followed, leaving me and Silver there...and Feraligatr. He growled at me, glaring.
"Calm down Feraliagtr." Silver snapped at him. Feraliagtr glanced at him, and then back at me. He was still growling. Silver saw that he wouldn't listen to him and returned him to his Poke ball.
"What happened to you and Feraligatr that would make him hate you so much?" The red-head asked.
"We just...we just had different views. We didn't agree with each other." I said, looking him in the eyes again so he didn't think I was lying. Well it wasn't a total lie anyways.
"So he left you? Or you left him?"
"I left him..." I said, looking down again. "Can we not talk about this?"
"Whatever..."
Our conversations often end with silence, don't they? I never said they were awkward, they're quiet relaxing as I said. I looked up at the sky. There were a few clouds, which were colored a shade of purple, and the sky was orange and light blue from the setting sun. It made Goldenrod look more...well gold.
I was thinking as I stared off into the sky, and I thought back to the library.
"Hey Silver..."
"Hm?"
"Back in Blackthorn City, in the library, you were saying something until Gold called." I said. "What was it that you were going to say?"
I could practically hear him swallow. "Uh, I only looked that up for you because I wanted to repay you...like, assure you nothing is coming after you."
I was stunned a little. "Repay me?"
"By helping me stay away from the police, and saving me from Dragonair's attack..."
"But I cause you so many problems! It was my fault those Pokemon attacked us back in the cave, a-and why we argue so much!"
"Everytime you make a mistake, I have to fix it...and it only makes me stronger in the end."
"So you don't mind me screwing up?" I asked, still shocked by whats going on.
"...No." He said.
I know he probably wouldn't like it, but I couldn't help myself. I flung my arms around his neck and hugged him tight. I could feel him tense up.
"W-Why are you hugging me??" He practically yelled, but he stuttered and cracked, making it kind of cute (which is totally not attractive!!). I only laughed and kept hugging him until he stopped struggling (which took quite some time). Silver eventually got used to the contact, and responded by putting his arms around my waist. It wasn't very tight, actually it was quite loose, showing me that he still didn't like this or he wasn't used to it.
"Can you let go now?" He mumbled.
I laughed again. "Sure." I said as we let go of each other. I looked at him and his cheeks were a light pink. "Are you blushing?"
"Tch, no of course not! It's just the lighting!" Silver said, looking away.
I shook my head, chuckling a bit. "Of course it was." I said, teasing him.
He glanced at me. "Why are you acting so different?"
"Hm? I guess I'm just...happy." I smiled. "I haven't been like this for a while."
"You're happy? Even around me?" Silver asked.
"...Yeah, I guess so."
"Why?"
"I-I don't know...I was just happy to hear everything you just said to me."
"But I accused you of being a Rocket, I hurt you, and I'm a jerk to you."
"So? Maybe I get stronger in the end." I smiled. "Let's just start over..."
"Fine..."
"Hi, I'm Umber!" I laughed, holding a hand out for him to shake.
He chuckled a bit and shook my hand. "And I'm Silver."
"You wanna start heading back to Blackthorn to challenge Clair?"
"She can wait, let's just get a place to stay for the night." Silver said, our hands still gripping onto each other. I awkwardly took my hand back.
"Yeah, ok." I said, hiding my small blush. "Lead the way." We walked to the Pokemon Center, preparing for tomorrow's possible gym battle.
