I Hate Everything About You Ch. 4

Authors Note: Just in case if anyone was wondering, this story is both game-verse and manga-verse. No anime. Just game and manga. So somethings are different than the game, and some things are different from the manga. Forgot to mention that ^^;

I still felt somewhat groggy, but I forced myself awake. I was in the Pokemon Center, hooked up to whirring and beeping machines. Dratini was curled up on a chair, snoring slightly. Silver was on the chair next to him, his chin rested on his hand, also asleep. I looked at the wall clock, and it read 10:30 am. I wonder how long I was out...

I looked at the machines I was connected to, and saw one pumping blood in, and another taking something out. It was purple, so I guess that wasn't suppose to be in my bloodstream anyways.

The door opened and a Chansey walked in pushing a cart. There was food, a few clean towels, and medical looking stuff. It replaced the towels in the bathroom with the clean ones. Then it put the food on the side table next to my bed, and grabbed the medicine equipment. They were syringes filled with a clear liquid.

"Chansey!" The Chansey said, pointing to my arm. I lifted my arm, and on my wrist there was a tube, with nothing connected to it. The Chansey took my wrist, carefully sticking the syringe and the tube together, and then squeezing the medicine into my arm. Chansey took the syringe out, and put it back on the cart.

"Chan, Chansey!" It smiled, pushing the cart back out and closing the door behind it.

I heard a slight squeak from Dratini, and saw him stretching. "Dratini!" He squeaked again, seeing that I was awake. He tapped Silver in the head with his tail, and then jumped off the chair and slithered over to me.

Silver's eyes fluttered open, and he looked over at me. "You finally awake?"

"How long was I out?" I asked.

"A few days..." He replied, walking over to the mini fridge in the room.

"A few days?!" I yelled.

"Relax and drink this." He said walking over to me, holding out a glass cup with a smoothie in it.

"What's in it?"

"I don't know; I'm not a nurse or a Chansey. They told me to make sure you drink this when you got up." I took it and had a small drink of it through the straw. It was sweet, smooth (well it is a smoothie...), and not all that bad.

"So did you just sit in here and sleep while I was knocked out?" I asked, still sipping away at my drink.

"No. I went north to the Lake of Rage, caught a red Gyrados, got the gym badge, and stopped Team Rocket with Gold."

"Um, stopped Team Rocket from doing what?" Hopefully he didn't mean stop Team Rocket completely, because then I wouldn't know what to do.

"Forcing Magikarp to evolve at the lake."

I held in my sigh of relief. "Oh."

"Well Gold is probably ahead of us...if he didn't stop at some attraction or something." Silver said, taking some food from the table.

"So are you saying that it's my fault?"

"Pretty much, I'd already be gone if it wasn't for you."

Originally I would have either glared, or snapped at him, but I kept my cool. I needed to gain his trust to trick him to getting him to Giovanni. "Well I'm sorry." I said.

He looked sorta confused. "Um, it's fine...?"

"Why the face?"

"You didn't yell at me or something...are you ok?"

"Yeah, I'm fine." I smiled.

He still looked confused. "...Whatever you say..."

"So when do I get out of here?"

"How should I know? Like I said, I'm not a nurse or a Chansey."

"I realize that, I just thought someone might have told you..."

"Well they didn't." He snapped.

"Alright, alright, no need to get snappy." Silver sighed, and it was quiet after that.

After a long time of sitting in silence, other than Dratini playing with a ball that a Chansey brought for it, I finally spoke up. "Silver, thanks for not leaving me..."

He looked up at me, since his gaze was rested on Dratini. He didn't respond, which made me feel like he wanted to leave.

"Did you want to leave?" I asked, rather disappointed. Silver shrugged, still in silence. I sighed to relax myself, trying not to snap at him.

"There's just plenty of policemen out there, so I decided to wait." He said, after a few seconds.

"Hmm...whatever you say."

"There were! They were investigating the Team Rocket hideout here." Silver yelled.

"Fine, fine, I believe you."

"I have to ask you, when we were battling those Golbats, did you have any kind of plan?" Silver asked, changing the topic.

"Huh? What are you talking about?

"You just made Dratini attack, without even thinking. That's probably why that stray Golbat was able to make it to you; you weren't alerted enough and you just watched Dratini fight." He explained. "You either need to teach Dratini new moves, train it, or you need to learn how to battle."

"I know how to battle!"

"Sure you do..." He said sarcastically. "Whenever you can leave this place, you need to find a teacher or something."

"Why don't you teach me? Obviously you know my flaws."

"I have better things to do than teach you." He said, crossing his arms.

"Then why bring it up in the first place?"

"Maybe to stop you from making stupid moves!"

"Aww, do you care about me?" I teased.

"Hell no!" He said, his face turning a little red. "Like I said, it's only to not run into the police. And ever since Team Rocket has been springing up everywhere, there have been more and more policemen running around."

I opened my mouth to say another sarcastic/smart-ass comment, but the door opened. The nurse and a Chansey walked in, smiling.

"Well it seems that you're finally awake." The pink-haired nurse said. She turned to Silver. "You did give her the smoothie, correct?"

"Yeah, yeah..." He mumbled.

"Great, then if you're well enough, you should be able to leave in the morning." She said to me.

"Um, ok." I said.

"Well you should rest up, tomorrow we'll see how you're leg is and see if you can walk. And make sure you finish you're smoothie; the Pecha berries in it will help get rid of a lot of the poison." She smiled again, and walked out with Chansey following.

"Poison?" I questioned, to no one in particular.

"The Golbat injected poison into you while it was frozen to your leg." Silver said. "Maybe hoping that you'd stay there passed out so it could come back later."

"Is that the purple liquid the machine is taking out?"

"Duh." He said, as if it were the simplest thing in the world.

"Well I didn't know, geez." I said, sitting up a little more.

"You're lucky that we got you here in time, if that poison stayed in you longer you could have...uh, died."

After that, things just got silent.

Thoughts just swam through my head. 'Would anyone care if I died?' I mentally questioned myself. Probably not...but some would probably be happy if they knew I was on Team Rocket. Others could possibly not care since I'm not an admin or something, I'm just a low ranked...er, agent. I don't like to consider myself a 'grunt' since most grunts wouldn't be assigned a mission like this. Plenty of them are dumb, and are pea brains.

"Hey you alright? You zoned out." Silver said, making me lose my thoughts.

"Oh, I'm fine. Just tired...that's all..." I lied. I wasn't all that tired (probably from being knocked out for a few days).

"Then sleep."

"What time is it?"

"The clock's right there, you can check yourself." I glared a little bit before looking at the clock. It was around 11:30 am now. I laid back down, closing my eyes trying to force myself to fall asleep. It must have taken at least an hour until I actually fell asleep...

I looked around and saw myself somewhere rather familiar, but I don't know how. There were graves everywhere, of both people and Pokemon. I looked around at the different graves. Each one had their name carved on it, nickname to if it was a Pokemon. Many had flowers placed down in respect. I walked down the rows, reading the names to myself.

'Here lies Abra.'

'Rest in Peace Marowak.'

'You'll be missed Raticate.'

Then I started to get to some humans, and they were all unfamilar. But then one familar name stopped me in my tracks.

'Umber.'

I could have sworn I felt my heart stop. Silver's words echoed in my head.

"You're lucky that we got you here in time, if that poison stayed in you longer you could have died."

I heard footsteps behind me, and I turned to see Giovanni and his Persian. He walked over and stood in front of 'my' grave. It was obvious he couldn't hear nor see me, so I stayed and watched. I am now very well aware that this is a dream...but I'm not someone who can control my dreams, or wake up whenever I want, so I was forced to watch anyways.

Giovanni didn't seem to be paying any respects, seeing his hard glare on my grave. Persian growled.

"She failed me. My plans are ruined. Everything from the beginning, everything I've planned out, and she ruined it all." He hissed. "She was the only one who could bring him back...the only one I trusted enough."

Persian growled louder, and swiped its claw right across the stone, leaving scratch marks behind.

They faded away, leaving me alone once again. Or so I thought.

"We're disappointed in you, Umber." I heard a voice behind me, and I turned around by force.

I gasped. Mom? Dad? My mom had the same purple-ish hair as me, and slim figure, while my father had the same umber eyes, which I was named for, and light brown hair.

Their expressions weren't happy; they looked flat out pissed.

"We're disappointed in you." They repeated. I wanted to open my mouth to say something, or apologize for whatever I did wrong. "You've made the wrong choices, you should have listened to Totodile..." Then, in front of me, appeared Totodile. But he grew to a Croconaw, and then finally to a Feraligatr. He bared his teeth at me, and looked as if he was going to pounce on me.

"You're going to break his heart."

'His?' Who's? Feraligatr's? Why?? So many questions ran through my head, especially 'why am I having such a nightmare?'

I wanted to run, but my feet were glued to the ground. Feraligatr moved closer and closer, growling menacingly. I wanted to scream, but I couldn't make a sound. Feraligatr finally attacked, clawing and biting me, leaving me in a bloody mess.

My eyes shot open...umber eyes meeting silver eyes instantly. He had his hands on my shoulders, as if he was shaking me. If he was, I must be one heavy sleeper for not being able to tell...

"You alright? You were whimpering and turning a lot." Silver asked, relasing his grip on me and backing up a bit.

"I...I'm fine." I managed to say. "It was only a bad dream, nothing you need to be concered about."

"Who said I was concered?" Silver snapped.

"I wake up and see you holding my shoulders...what else were you doing besides waking me up then? Hm?"

"I just couldn't sleep over all the noise!" I looked up at the clock and saw that it was 10 pm. I was really asleep for that long? I guess I really was tired...

"Well sorry, and you can go back to sleep." I said, rolling over onto my side, my back facing him. I heard him walk back over to his chair without a word.

I fell back asleep after another few hours, my nightmare still stuck in my brain. But I managed to finally force myself asleep, hoping for a peaceful night.
