I Hate Everything About You Ch. 3

Poke...

"Umber, wake up."

Poke...

"Umber.~ It's time to wake up.~"

...

Poke, poke, poke, poke, poke, po-

"Cut it out!" I yelled, slapping Gold's hand away. "Seriously, how many times have I told you not to touch me!"

"I wasn't touching, I was waking you up."

I sighed. "Whatever. What time is it?"

Gold grinned. "Pancake time!"

"...Huh?"

"He's gonna go eat some pancakes in the cafeteria." Silver said, stretching his glove on his hand as if he just put it on.

"Yeah, so last one there is a rotten egg!" He yelled, running out of the room. I had no idea how to reply to that, let alone anything he says.

"Well I thought about what you said last night." Silver said once Gold was gone.

"And...?" I said, waiting for his answer.

"I don't know if I believe you yet, with the whole 'I'll help you' shit. How do I know you're not working for the police or something?"

"Trust me, I'm not."

"You really think that's gonna change my mind? You'll have to prove it to me before I let you help me." Wow he makes everything difficult.

"Fine, what do you want me to do?"

~~~
I climbed in through the window of the Pokemart, in the back room. There were boxes stacked everywhere, holding multiple items inside. I went over to the one marked 'Pokeballs,' put my gloves on (too make sure no finger prints were left anywhere) and opened it up. It was filled with pokeballs, great balls, ultra balls, heal balls, and net balls. I reached in and pulled out a couple of net balls and ultra balls, and quietly stuffed them in my pockets. I made sure everything was put back in place before I was here, minus the pokeballs in my pocket.
At this point I was whisper to myself 'too easy,' but I've seen enough movies and read enough books to know that if I did that, I'd be caught, trip over something, find out I'm trapped, ect. So I decided to keep my mouth shut.
I climbed back out of the window, and met Silver out behind the Pokemon Center.
"So, impress me." He said, with his voice still emotionless as usual. I pulled out the different pokeballs from my pocket and handed them to him.
"Now can I have my money back?" I said, holding my hand out for my wallet. You're wondering why he has my wallet, right? Well we sorta made a deal...
"Fine, what do you want me to do?"
"Go to the Pokemart and get me some net balls and ultra balls; there's a Pokemon I've been planning on catching, and I'm low on pokeballs." Silver explained.
"...You want me to buy you pokeballs?"
"No, I want you to steal them." He held his hand out. "Now give me your wallet, just to make sure you didn't pay for them." I stuffed my hand in my pocket, pulled out my light blue wallet, and placed it in his hand. "Now run along." He said, waving me away.
He gave me back my wallet, which I decided to check if it still has my money in it.
"I didn't take anything." Silver snapped.
"I can see that." I said, putting it back. "So now do you trust me?"
"Yeah, well enough to believe that you're not with the police anyways." He said. "But you can still travel with me I guess, besides, it would be better to travel with me other than Gold, right?"
"Yeah, you're less annoying and not loud." I sighed.
"Well anyways, I've gotta go battle the gym leader before Gold does, or else I'd have to wait, and he'd probably beat me to the next town." Silver said, walking towards the gym. "You can go do whatever until I finish, just meet me at Route 42 in an hour or so." I decided this would be the perfect time to go get some breakfast.
~~~

"Hey Umber~!! Come sit with me!" Gold waved at me from his table, with syrup all over his face. I sighed, and ignored him, sitting down with my cereal at a different table.

"Aw, Umber, that wasn't nice." Gold placed his tray on the table, and sat down across from me. "What took you so long and where's the grumpy ginger?"

"I was busy with something else and Silver is battling the gym leader." I said, taking a spoonful of cereal.

"Oh darn, he beat me to it." Gold said, a little more quiet this time. "What were you busy with?"

"Not much, oh, and by the way, I won't be traveling with you anymore."

"Why not??"

"I'm traveling with Silver from now on."

Gold practically dropped his fork. "He's actually letting you travel with him?" He asked, surprised.

"Yeah, why do you look so surprised?"

"It's just that he doesn't seem like the kind of person to let someone he just met travel with him. He actually doesn't seem like the kind of person to travel with anyone in general."

"Well then I'm just different."

"Yeah..." Gold said, as if he were thinking of something.

"Hey Gold!" I looked over and saw some brunette in pigtails. Great, a friend of Gold's.

"Who's the chick in the Mario cosplay?" I wasn't gonna lie, her outfit slightly reminded me of that video game character (not that I play it or anything...).

She looked down at her clothes, and shrugged it off. "My name's Lyra!" She said, holding her hand out for me to shake. When I didn't, she took awkwardly took her hand back. "Um, well who are you?"

"Umber." I said simply.

"Nice to meet you, Umber!" Lyra said cheerfully. When I didn't reply, she turned to Gold. "Mind if I sit here?" She smiled.

"U-Uh...no, go ahead!" Gold stuttered, pulling out a chair for her to sit in. She smiled at him again, and sat next to him. Gold just had this goofy looking grin on his face as he stared at Lyra, and a little tint of pink on his cheeks.

Lightbulb.

"Hey, Gold, you never told me you had a girlfriend." I smirked.

He blushed more. "W-What? No, L-Lyra's only a fr-friend!"

Lyra blushed as well. "W-What made you think w-we were dating?"

"Gold's red face." Gold took his hat off his head and covered his face with it. I laughed, but when Gold took his hat away I stopped.

"Did you just laugh?"

"No."

"...Then who laughed?"

I shrugged and held my laughter in. It's been a while since I actually had fun like this. Gold put his hat back on his head and continued to eat quietly. I snickered and kept eating my breakfast.

"So, Umber, where are you from? We're from New Bark Town." Lyra asked.

"Goldenrod City." I replied.

"Really? Its such a big city, much different from our little town. If we go back someday can you show us where you live?"

"No."

"Why not? Am I being too rude? I'm sorry!" She said frantically.

"Because that's creepy and my house burned down when I was 5; 11 years ago." I said, staring into my now cereal-less bowl.

"O-Oh...I'm sorry..." She said. "Well...at least your ok." Lyra smiled.

"No, I'm not." I mumbled. I stood up, walking out. They can clean up my stuff there, and I really don't feel like being pissed off so early.

I looked at the time on my Pokegear, and I only had about 15 minutes left. I decided to wait on Route 42, so when I made it I said down by a tree in the shade. I released Dratini, thinking it would be a good time for him to eat.

"Dra!" I pulled some berries out of my bag, and fed them to him. Once he was done with his breakfast, we sorta just sat there in silence.

Dratini, who was laying next to me peacefully, looked up when we heard footsteps.

"You ready to go?" It was only Silver.

"Yeah..." I wanted to hurry up befor-

"Hey, Umber!!"

...before Lyra and/or Gold came. In this case, it was Lyra.

"Umber, I-I'm sorry I didn't know...! Silvy!" Lyra lit up when she saw 'Silvy.' I kinda snickered at his nickname. "D-Did I ruin a moment?"

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"Well you two were here alone so I didn't know if you guys were having a nice time or something..."

"'Something' being?" I asked, again.

"Um, I shouldn't tell you now! It would be embarrassing!"

"...Whatever." I mumbled. "It was nice until you came along." I sighed.

"I really didn't know! I just met you!"

"And you already managed to piss me off, way to go." I said, sarcasm in my tone. "Can we go now?" I said to Silver. He nodded his head, and we started ignoring the brunette, walking away.

"Wait!!" Lyra shouted. "Are you two dating??"

"What the hell?!"

"No!" Silver yelled, at the same time I questioned her.

"Oh...sorry for asking!" She said, trying to not smile awkwardly.

"What would make you think that??" I yelled.

"Because you're traveling together...and Silver likes being alone."

"Well I'm not really alone if I have Pokemon so it doesn't make a difference if I let her come." Silver said.

"Then why didn't you let me travel with you?"

"Because you're annoying, now don't you have Gold to bother? I'm sure he'd enjoy your company."

Lyra blushed. "Fine...see ya later!" She ran back to the city, looking for Gold.

"Now that that's over with..." Silver started walking to the cave. It was a quiet walk...neither of us really saying anything.

"Does Gold like Lyra?" I asked, after about 15 minutes of walking in a dark cave, in silence (well besides the sound of the waterfall crashing down).

"Why would you want to know?" Silver asked, not stopping or turning to look at me.

"Because I just want to know."

"It's obvious if you think about it," was Silver's reply.

"He does, doesn't he?" He just acts differently around her. Not as flirty, plenty of blushing, and more quiet and lots of stuttering...wow that is obvious now that I think of it.

Silver nodded. "That's why I asked if you were really dating him last night; it surprised me that he moved on so quick. But turns out you're just like every other girl and there's nothing special about you."

"Excuse me?"

"What?"

"Nothing special about me?" I asked, my tone getting slightly louder with each sentence.

"Yeah, you're just like any other girl I'd find on the street...well better than some, like Lyra..." He said, as if he were trying to think of girls that I were better than.

"Then why the hell would you let me travel with you?! Gold even told me that you wouldn't let anyone travel with you and Lyra practically just said that you refused to travel with her!!" I yelled, rather loudly. My voice echoed through the cave. "I bet people just don't want to travel with you! I've only been traveling with you for how long?! An hour or so? And I already know that you're a complete jackass!!"

"Quit yelling." Silver said, unaffected by my screams.

"Why? You feeling guilty? Little Silvy has a soft spot?" I teased.

"Don't call me that." He glared.

"Why not? I'm not special enough to give you a nickname? Apparently Lyra is special enough to!"

"I never let her call me that and I hate the name!!" He yelled to, his voice echoing like mine.

"Oh, so now who's yelling?? Obviously not me." I said, quieting down a notch.

"You really need to learn to control your big mouth and learn not to be as much as a bitch!"

"Look who's talking!!" Our voices bounced off the walls of the cave, going back to the deepest part. We continued our bickering, that is, until we felt the cave shake a bit.

"Be quiet..." Silver said, putting a hand over my mouth. I slapped his hand away, still not liking anyone touching me. "Can you hear that?" I listened closely, and heard the distant sound of flapping and screeching. We looked over to where the sounds were coming from, and Golbats and Zubats came into view. It wasn't a couple or a dozen, no! No where near that. This looked like there was a giant cloud of blue and purple coming right for us at a high speed.

"Run!" was my first instinct thing to do, seeing how I always had to run before, not having Dratini. Silver grabbed the back of my shirt and pulled me back.

"Only wimps run, so show me that you're not a wimp and fight with me." He said, releasing a Sneasel.

"Um, right." I said, releasing Dratini.

"Sneasel, icy wind!" Sneasel released an icy wind attack on a large part of the group, either freezing Golbats or having Zubats faint.

"Dragon rage, Dratini!" Dragon rage couldn't take out as much as Sneasel did, but it still managed to hit one or two bat Pokemon. "Keep it up Dratini!" Dratini kept using dragon rage over and over, attacking as many of the remaining Pokemon as possible.

"Sneasel use beat up." The rest of Silver's team came out, each attacking a Golbat or Zubat. He only had Croconaw, Murkrow, Usaring, Kingdra, and of course the Sneasel.

Dratini was knocked back while I was distracted, but got right back up. "Dratini, slam!" Dratini rammed into some weak Golbats and Zubats on the ground, knocking them out, and hit a few still in the air with it's tail. "Keep using dragon rage now!" Dratini, now closer to the bat Pokemon, attacked constantly.

The number of the Golbats and Zubats were decreasing, some either flying away or fainting.

I felt a sharp pain in my leg suddenly, and winced. I looked down at my leg and noticed a Golbat who decided to make me it's next meal. I tried to kick it off, but it bit down harder and sucked out more blood. I felt hot and dizzy, and my vison started blurring.

"Dr...Dratini!!" I managed to yell out. Dratini stopped its dragon rage attacks, and started moving over as fast as a Dratini could go. "Dragon r-rage!" I commanded. It stopped in its tracks confused, then shook its head no. "J-Just do it, damn it!" I said, falling to my knees. The Golbat still hung on though. Dratini still didn't wish to attack, probably not wanting to hit me in the process. "Tch...fine..." Then I did what I never thought I would do, considering what happened a few minutes ago...

I yelled for Silver. "S-Silver! H...Help!" I cried out. He turned to me, telling Sneasel to use icy wind on the Golbat. Sneasel, unlike my Dratini, actually listened, and froze Golbat and my leg. Now I had a Golbat practically stuck in my leg...great. At least the ice was numbing the pain a bit. Then Sneasel used metal claw, breaking the ice and knocking the Golbat off.

I still felt like shit, but I tried getting up again, only to fall down completely. My leg was bleeding heavily, and it still stung like hell.

Two large, furry arms picked me up, carrying me easily as if I were nothing more than a doll. Through my blurred vison, I could tell it was Silver's Usaring. It ran out, and in no time we were outside.

I struggled to stay awake, but I couldn't any longer and I let myself slip into unconsiousness.
