In Green Hill:
Sonic: What a beautiful day it is outside. Wind is breezing, flowers are blooming, and no Eggman to deal with. I wonder what Tails is doing.
Speaking of Tails, he came by with a helmet with a game system
Tails: Hey Sonic.
Sonic: Hey Tails, what's that you got there?
Tails: It's a new system someone brought. It's like a virtual reality game and you can play.
Sonic: Oh really?
Tails: I think that your into it so I wanna give it to you.
Sonic: Thanks Tails. I'll keep it.
Tails: Alright then. I'll have to head back to my lab and work on some inventions.
Sonic: Okay then. See u later, Tails.
Tails flies away as Sonic puts on the other gloves and the helmet on as it says NewWorld Online. A few seconds later, Sonic felt something strange.
Sonic: What the! I can't take this off!
As he tries to take it off, his body was disappearing.
Sonic: Oh no! Am I getting sucked in?
Sonic's body disappears as the helmet fell on the ground.

Meanwhile in a different world:
Girl: It'll be great! It'll be awesome! It'll be the best, so try it!
Girl2: Wha...? Like, right now?
Girl: Of course! Didn't all your stuff arrive?
Girl2: I mean, it's all here, but... you aren't able to play, right?
Girl: Well, my mom's telling me I gotta focus on the next test. So just go ahead and play without me for now! I'll pass you up in a jiffy.
Mom: Risa! The water's ready, so take a bath!
Risa: Okay! She's calling me. Anyways, just give it a go! It's the best! You're totally gonna love it!
Risa ends the call.
Girl2: H-Hey, Risa! Jeez! And here I've basically never played a game in my life... I only bought this because Risa talked me into it. I mean, how can I say no to those sparkling eyes of hers? Oh, well. I'll just set things up.
She puts the gloves on and the helmet as the title screen says NewWorld Online.

In the character select screen:
Sonic: Whoa. What is this? Hmm? A name? Well, obviously Sonic.
Sonic puts his name as it selects its weapons.
Sonic: They're a lot of weapons to choose from.
Sonic then looks at himself as he was wearing beginner clothing. Sonic then sees a fighting glove.
Sonic: Hmm? A fighter will be nice.
Sonic chooses a fighter glove as he then distribute the status points.
Sonic: Oh, status. Let's see... Agility, strength, vitality, intelligence, and dexterity. So I'll be a balanced type.
Sonic did his attributes as he then teleports into the world.
Kaede: Hmm? A name, huh? I've got it! Since my name is Kaede, I'll go with Maple!
Kaede puts her name as she selects her weapon.
Maple: Next up is starting equipment? Great sword, one handed sword, mace, staff... Hmm. I've never been that great at moving around and stuff. Besides, I'd like to avoid getting his since i don't wanna get hurt. Should I just pick the staff and be a wizard? Huh?
Maple sees a shield.
Maple: Offensively lacking, but number one in defense? Huh?! If I raise defense enough, I won't take damage?! Sweet! I'm going with that!
Maple chooses the great shield as she distributes the status.
Maple: Not to distribute status points? Everything I've got goes into defense!
Maple puts all her status points on vitality.
Maple: Okay! I think we're good now!
Maple then teleports into the world. Maple looks around as she was surprised.
Maple: Jeez, VRMMOs sure are something else these days!
Maple then walks as she was walking slow.
Maple: I'm slow! Why?! Oh, yeah! Hmm? Vitality was defense, right? Strength is power, agility is speed... Oh! I can't walk fast because my agility is zero! Whoops! I goofed up big time! What now? Should I log out and redo it since Risa's not here?

5 minutes later:
Maple: Oh, well! Let's fight some monsters since I finally made a character! Um, which way to go?
Maple sees a blonde girl walking by.
Maple: Oh... Um, excuse me? Huh? Excuse me! Um!
The blonde girl turns around.
Girl: Hmm? What is it?
Maple: Um, I wanna fight some monsters, but I don't really know where I should go.
Girl: Oh! You must be a newbie! You're the second person someone talk to me about.
Maple: I am? Who was the first?
Girl: Hmm? It was a blue fellow. He looked like a rookie, also.
Maple: A blue guy?
Girl: There's monsters in the forest to the west. It's a good spot to raise levels at the start. You can just stand around and they'll come right to you.
Maple: Thank you so much! I'll check it out!
Girl: Good luck!
Maple walks off.
A guy walks up to the girl.
Guy: What's up, Frederica?
Frederica: Oh, Drag. I was just telling some newbie girl a spot to get levels.
Drag: Hmm? There's sure a lot of people around these days. Come on, let's get moving too. Payne's already here.
Frederica: Right in time, just as expected.
Maple: Everyone else walks so fast! It's gotta be my agility.
Maple then feels a breeze.
Maple: Huh? What was that?
Sonic was running around the plaza.
Maple: Huh? Is that the blue thing the girl was talking about? Umm, hello!
Sonic: Huh?
Sonic stops next to Maple.
Maple: Are you the blue guy?
Sonic: Well, yeah, I am. Look at me. I'm blue.
Maple: Oh, a girl said you talked with her.
Sonic: Oh, her. I'm guessing you're a newbie too, huh?
Maple: Yeah. Name's Maple.
Sonic: I'm Sonic. Sonic the hedgehog.
Maple: Are you about to fight some monsters?
Sonic: Yeah. You too, huh?
Maple: Yep. Oh, let's add each other?
Sonic: Oh, you can do that? Okay, then.
Maple: You've never done this before, haven't you?
Sonic: Nope, never. You?
Maple: Same here.
They both added each other.
Sonic: Anyway, what are we waiting for? Let's go!
Maple: Yeah!

In the forest:
Sonic and Maple were walking in the forest as they stop on a spot.
Maple: Okay! I wonder if this is a good spot?
Sonic: Huh?
Maple: Hey monsters! Come at me if you dare!
Sonic: I hear something.
Maple: Ehh?!
A little bunny comes out from the bushes.
Sonic: Wow.
Maple: It's adorable!
The bunny runs around and goes to attack Maple.
Maple: Wha...?! I'm sorry!
The bunny hits Maple as it didn't do any damage.
Sonic: Huh?
Maple: Whoa, cool! That didn't hurt! That's 128 vitality for you!
Sonic: 128 vitality?! Don't tell me you used all your points on vitality?!
Maple: Yeah. I don't want to get hurt.
Sonic: Well, it doesn't matter.
The bunny keeps hitting Maple, but it doesn't do anything as Maple starts to laugh.
Maple: Fufufu! Well, Mr. bunny? Like these abs? This doesn't hurt one bit! Come on, what's the matter? Bring it!
Sonic: Welp, I'm going to sleep on this tree.
Maple: Go on, keep at it! Hit me! I'm right here! Fight me!

1 hour later:
Sonic wakes up as the bunny was still attacking Maple.
Sonic: Are you serious?!
Maple: Come on! Put your back into it!
Maple then learns a new move.
Maple: Wait a sec, Mr. bunny.
Sonic: Hmm? You got total defense.
Maple: Two times the vitality. In other words, I've got 256 vitality? And all I did was play with Mr. bunny!
Sonic: What?! 256 vitality?! You really are gonna use all your points on vitality, are you?
Maple: Yep!
Sonic: Oh, well.
The bunny keeps attacking Maple, until the last attack hits the bunny as it dies.
Sonic: Oh, it's dead.
Maple: Mr.bunny!
Maple has reached to level 2.
Maple: Mr. bunny!
Sonic: Welp. I better level up, too.

Few minutes later:
Sonic and Maple were walking in the forest.
Maple: I wasn't even trying to beat him either!
Sonic: Well, it's a game, so it'll come back.
Maple: Oh. I can assign five more status points now.
Sonic: Since you'd leveled up you'll get status points.
Maple: Hmm? At this point, why raise anything but defense? That settles it! More defense! Cuz I don't wanna get hurt!
Sonic: Good for you, I guess.
Maple: Hehe. I wonder what kind of monsters are around here? I don't want to fight anything cute again, so let's hope the next one isn't.
Sonic: Hopefully.
As they were walking, Sonic and Maple hears a noise.
Sonic: Hmm?
Maple: Huh?
Two bugs comes in the way attacking Sonic and Maple.
Maple: You're kidding me!
Sonic jumps and kicks the bug as it disappears.
Sonic: There we go! You okay, Maple?
Maple was running away from the bug.
Maple: Ahhh!
Sonic: Oh, yeah...
The bug attacks Maple, but it didn't do any damage.
Maple: That didn't hurt!
Sonic: She's not taking damage at all.
The bug keeps attacking Maple, but it does nothing.
Maple: Haha! That tickles!
The bug flies around a shoots poison on Maple.
Sonic: Maple, watch out!
Maple: It burns!
Maple's health was going down.
Maple: I can't defend against poison!
The bug keeps attacking Maple.
Maple: Tactical retreat!
Maple runs away slowly.
Sonic: Hey!
Maple gets poisoned again as a screen popped up.
Sonic: Maple! You okay? Huh?
Maple acquired poison resist-weak.
Maple: I've got it! Getting hit by attacks builds up resistance! In that case...!
Sonic: What are you doing?
Maple lays down on the floor.
Maple: I think I'm done for!
Sonic: (Wait, I get what she's doing.)
The bug poisons her again and again as her poison resists to moderate.
Maple: Woohoo! I'm getting stronger against poison just like I thought!
Maple: It got me!
Sonic: Hold on, I can't let her get all the work!
Sonic gets a new skill.
Sonic: Hmm? Sonic wind? Let's test that out!
As the bug goes for Maple, Sonic kicks the air as a wave attacks the bug as it disappears.
Maple: Huh?
Sonic: There we go. Come on.
Sonic reaches his hand out to Maple as she blushes a little.
Maple: Woohoo! That was a tough fight, but we finally won! Talk about a fearsome opponent!
Sonic: I wouldn't call that a tough fight.
Sonic and Maple both leveled up to level 8 as they got new skills.
Sonic: Tornado, huh? Nice.
Maple acquired giant killing and a forest queen bee's ring.
Sonic: What's that?
Maple: It's a rare item. Gives plus six to vitality... Oh! It recovers HP while you wear it to!
Maple puts it on.
Sonic: Oh, look. We got 15 more status points.
Maple: I'll throw that into vitality too.
Sonic: Of course, but what's giant killing?
Maple: Oh, yeah. Giant killing, huh? Um... I guess it'll be active all the time. Which means, together with total defense from earlier... Four times?!
Sonic: That's insane.
Maple: Ahh, what a day!
Sonic: Yeah, it sure is. Hey, Maple. Huh?
Maple goes to sleep.
Sonic: Welp, there she goes. Hmm? Maybe I can find something to wear, too. Stay tight, Maple, I'll be right back.
Sonic runs off as little monsters start to attack her, but she was still asleep and wasn't fazed. A guy wearing a red shield sees a girl on the floor with monsters.
Man: Huh? What the heck's going on there?

Few minutes later:
Maple wakes up from a text as she acquired meditation.
Maple: When used, restores one percent of max HP in 10 seconds. Effect last 10 minutes. Under requirements it says: "While being under attack"... While being... under attack?!
Maple noticed the monsters attacking her.
Sonic: Alright. I got this ring and it's for boosted attack power and skill. Perfect!
Sonic hears Maple screaming.
Maple: Ahhhh!
Sonic: Huh? Maple?
Sonic then runs over and uses a tornado blowing the monsters out as they disappear.
Sonic: Maple?
Maple: Sonic!
Maple hugs Sonic.
Sonic: Umm... Maple, you look exhausted.
Maple leveled up to level 10 as Sonic did also.
Sonic: Oh, Maple, you learned something.
Maple acquired provocation.
Maple: That was a rush. But I did learn a new skill, so I guess it's worth it. Thanks, Sonic.
Sonic: No big deal.
Maple: Oh, yeah. I got 10 more status points, I'll put them into vitality again.
Sonic: (She'll never stop. Hehe I guess I'm getting use to it.)
Maple: Ahh, I think I did pretty good for my first day! Yup! I'll call it quits for today!
Sonic: Oh, you're leaving?
Maple: Yeah. I did a lot today.
Sonic: Well, alright, then.
Maple: Thanks for tagging along with me.
Sonic: No problem.
Maple: See ya.
Maple logs out.
Sonic: Well, what do I do, now? I can't really go back home. Huh?
Sonic sees that he can log out.
Sonic: I can log out as well? Well, only one way to find out.
Sonic logs out as he teleports.

In Maple's house:
Kaede: That was so much fun! No way! It's already that late?! Oh crap! I had homework to do!
As she was doing homework, a sudden light happened as Sonic falls down to Kaede's room.
Sonic: Whoa! Oww!
Kaede: Huh?
Sonic: Hmm?
They both saw each other as they both screamed.
Sonic, Kaede: Ahhh!
Kaede: W-What?!
Sonic: Whoa, whoa! I'll explain it!
Kaede: How did you get here?
Sonic: Well, long story...

The next day in NewWorld Online:
Sonic and Maple teleports into the plaza.
Maple: I can't believe you actually were transported here by that helmet. And the fact that your stuck here with me.
Sonic: Yeah. I don't know how to go back.
Maple: Hopefully you'll get back soon.
Sonic: Yeah.
Maple: Wow, everyone looks so stylish.
Sonic: Now that you mention it, we're wearing beginner cloths.
A guy with the red shield walks by.
Maple: Oh! He's a great shoulder, too!
Sonic: Oh, him?
Maple: Um! Excuse me! Um...
Guy: Hmm? Wha...?!
Maple: Um!
Sonic: Hey there.
Maple: Where can I get a cool shield like the one you've got?
Guy: Oh, this?
Sonic: Looks cool.
Maple: Yeah! Your great shield is so cool!
Guy: Well, thanks. This one was made to order. I had a crafter make it for me in exchange for money.
Sonic: Cool.
Maple: Oh, I see.
Guy: Shall I introduce you two to one?
Maple: Please do!
Sonic: Yeah, sure.
Guy: (So she's a newbie after all. Never thought she'd straight up talk to me. And who's that guy? Looks like a friend of hers.)

In Iz Workshop:
The three enter the shop as Sonic and Maple were looking around.
Iz: Oh? Welcome, Kuromu! Who these two?
Maple: Um, hello!
Sonic: Hey, there.
Kuromu: I couldn't help but kidnap the two when I saw there're two great newbies.
Sonic: (Wait, kidnap?)
Iz: Those two are very cute.
Sonic blushes a little.
Sonic: Hehe...
Iz: Kuromu, you say you kidnapped those two?
Kuromu: Huh?
Iz: Perhaps I'll report you then.
Kuromu: H-Hold your horses! That was just a figure of speech!
Iz: I know that. I'm only joking with you.
Kuromu: It's bad for my heart, so please don't.
Iz: And you two should know better than to follow suspicious people.
Sonic: Uhh...
Maple: Um, alright.
Kuromu: I'm not suspicious, you know!
Iz: So? What brings you here?
Kuromu: This girl was saying how she wants a cool great shield, so I thought I'd introduced her to you at least. What about you?
Sonic: Oh, me? Well, I'm here because I thought you could help me with something.
Iz: Well, welcome to the right place. My name is Iz. As you can see, I'm a crafter. But mostly specialize in smithing. I do synthesis and such, too.
Maple: Oh! Um, I'm Maple!
Sonic: Name's Sonic!
Maple and Sonic, huh? Well then, Maple, why is it you picked a great shield?
Maple: Um, I don't want to get hurt, so I thought I should raise my defense.
Iz: I see, I see. Well, vitality gear sounds right up your alley. It would take 1,000,000 gold at the least though.
Sonic: Wow, a lot?
Maple: What do you have on you?
Maple: U-uh, only about 3,000.
Sonic: I got 5,000.
Maple: 5,000?
Sonic: Yep, while you were sleeping, I decided to keep fighting monsters.
Maple: So you let them eat me?
Sonic: What do you mean? You have a lot of defense.
Iz: Haha. That won't quite be enough. But it'll add up before you know it.
Maple: So much for looking cool, I guess.
Iz: So, what are you here for?
Sonic: Well you see...
Sonic tells Iz and Kuromu about how he got here.
Iz: I see. You're not supposed to be here since you're not a human.
Sonic: Yeah. Well I'm a animal, but with human traits.
Kuromu: Human traits?
Sonic: Let's not talk about that. Anyway, is there anyway you can help me?
Iz: Yep, just leave it to me.
Sonic: Great! Wait, what happens if I die?
Kuromu: You'll spawn back to the plaza. It's not that serious.
Sonic: Oh, good.
Maple: That's great.

In the plaza:
Iz: The "Poison Dragon's Labyrinth" is to the east. There's all sorts of treasure you can get there. The monsters are a bit strong though.
Kuromu: Check it out sometime. If you're lucky, you two might be able to loot some good equipment.
Sonic: Alright then! With Maple's defense and my speed, we're unstoppable!
Maple: Yeah!
Iz: Hehe.
Maple: Thank you very much!
Iz: Let me add you two as a friend since we know each other now. That way we can talk anytime.
Sonic: Thanks.
Maple: Thank you so much! Can I get you too, Kuromu?
Sonic: Yeah?
Kuromu: Sure. I'll put some of my potions with you two. A gift for a fellow great shielder and a fighter.
Iz and Kuromu send Sonic and Maple a friend request.
Sonic: Thanks. Bye.
Maple waves as Sonic and Maple as they make their way into the east.
Iz: You don't think they'll both head to that dungeon all on their own, do you?
Kuromu: No way, that's absurd.

With Sonic and Maple:
Maple: Finally, it's dungeon time! It's starting to feel like a real adventure!
Sonic: (Wait, already?) Yeah! Let's do it!
Maple: I wonder if there's a poison dragon in the "Poison Dragon's Labyrinth"?
Sonic: Well, it's called that for a reason.
Maple: I'm sure we'll be just be fine! I've got poison resist and we got potions!
Sonic: It'll be challenging, but we got this!
They kept walking as they got to a cave.
Sonic: Hmm?
Maple: Is this the entrance?
Sonic: Looks like it.
Sonic and Maple goes inside the cave as enemies appear.
Maple: Here come slimes!
Sonic does a spin dash attacking the slimes.
Maple attacks the slimes with her short sword, but it didn't do anything.
Sonic: Maple, you don't have any strength!
Maple: Fine! You're asking for it! Eat this!
Maple uses her shield as she slams it in the slimes as they disappear.
Sonic: Nice!
Sonic and Maple learned a new skill.
Sonic: Hmm, breaking tornado? Break dance while making a huge tornado sucking a lot of monsters.
Sonic: Whoa!
Maple acquired a shield attack.
Maple: I would've preferred an actual attack skill, but...
Sonic: Come on, Maple.
Maple: Coming!
Sonic and Maple goes through the dungeon defeating monsters back to back until they got to a gate.
Maple: A gate?
Sonic: This must be where the boss is.
Sonic and Maple opens the gate and walks in as the gate closes behind them.
Maple: Wahh!
Sonic: Huh?
A huge dragon comes in as Sonic and Maple looks up at the Poison dragon.

Sonic: Whoa! Talk about huge!
Maple: Is this the poison dragon?!
Sonic: You think?!
The three heads of the dragon shoots poison as Sonic and Maple.
Sonic: Uh oh!
Maple covers Sonic as she uses her shield.
Sonic: Maple!
Maple: Gh...!
Sonic and Maple were both poisoned as their weapons were gone.
Maple: My shield and sword!
Sonic: What the heck!
The dragon shoots more poison as their health was going down.
Maple: Ahhh!
Sonic: Maple! (What do we do? Wait... the potions...) Maple! I got a plan!
Maple: What is it?
Sonic: We gotta time this right, or else we're done for!
Sonic and Maple grabs a potion as they both used it.
Sonic: Like what you did with that bug, you got poison resist. We gotta time these right if we're gonna defeat this thing!
Maple: Okay!
Sonic and Maple keeps using the potions every time their health was extremely low.
Sonic: (This is our last one.)
Maple: (Please, work!)
They used their last potion as they got a message. Their poison resist turned into immunity.
Sonic: Alright!
Maple: Your plan worked!
Sonic: Hehe.
Maple: Your poison doesn't affect us, poison dragon! But then again, I can't attack him. What do I do?
Sonic: Maple! Look out!
Maple: Wahh!
Maple was taken by the dragon as they tangled her up.
Sonic: Maple!
Maple: I told you, it's useless on me! Hey, let go of me!
Maple tries to attack it, but it doesn't do anything.
Sonic: Shoot!
The two dragon heads shoots poison at Sonic, but he dodges it.
Sonic: Sonic wind!
Sonic kicks the air as multiple waves attack the dragon.
Maple: Ahhh! I can't do anything! Sonic!
The dragon opens its mouth as it was going to eat Maple
Sonic: Maple! I can't just stand here and do nothing!
Sonic runs towards the dragon as he dodges the poison. Sonic jumps in the air and goes for a punch, but he miss. Sonic gets grabbed as Sonic and Maple were both in trouble.
Sonic: Gh...! Gh....!
Maple: Guah!
Maple then uses her teeth to bite the dragon as they both fall down.
Maple: Ahh!
Sonic: Maple!
Sonic goes down and saves Maple.
Sonic: You okay?
Maple was blushing a little.
Maple: I-I'm fine!
Sonic: Maple! I got another plan! Maple try eating the dragon, I'll distract it!
Maple: Okay!
Sonic runs around the dragon.
Sonic: Hey, dragon! You suck!
Sonic smacks his butt as the dragon shoots poison at Sonic, but It didn't do any damage.
Sonic: Nows your chance!
Maple goes to its feet and eats it.
Maple: This is not tasty at all.
Maple keeps eating the dragon as it was stunned. Sonic learns a new skill.
Sonic: Aura punch? A powerful blue energy punch with a lot of force. Alright! Let's test that!
Maple: Alright! It's stunned!
Sonic: Here goes!
Sonic charges up his punch as huge blue aura flows through his body to his hand. Sonic runs up to the dragon and jumps in the air.
Sonic: Aura punch!
Sonic does a aura punch as it makes a hole out of the dragon. The dragon falls down as it disappears.
Sonic: Alright!
Maple: Woohoo! We're victorious! All thanks to you, Sonic!
Sonic: Hehe, I wasn't the one who got us out in that situation. You ate it.
Maple: Hehe.
Two treasures were discovered as the dragon disappears.
Sonic: Whoa, what did you get?
Maple acquired Hydra Eater. Poison immunity advances to Hydra.
Sonic: Whoa!
Sonic and Maple leveled up to level 18.
Maple: We got 20 status points I'll put all those into defense too!
Sonic: I'll balance my attributes.
Maple: This hydra eater skill let's me use all of the poison dragon's magic? In other words, I finally have my first real attack skill! And poison is perfect for me!
Sonic: That's great, Maple.
Maple: If I poison my opponent, I just have to outlast them!
Sonic: Anyway, look at these chests.
Maple: I wonder what's inside?
Sonic and Maple opens their own treasure as they got new cloths and weapons.
Sonic: Alright! New outfits and weapons!
Maple: If it's broken, it gets stronger and goes back to normal! And it's one of a kind!
Sonic: This makes all my stats huge now! Maple, you know what this means?
Sonic, Maple: We're the only people to have this!
Sonic and Maple puts on their new outfits on.

Sonic then gets a shuriken on his back.
Sonic: Whoa, a shuriken?! That's cool! Oh, Nice outfit, Maple.
Maple was blushing.
Maple: Hehe, yours too.
Sonic: Hehe.
Maple: I'm gonna keep playing and specialize in defense! Cuz I don't wanna get hurt!
Sonic: Man, that dungeon made me hungry.
Maple: Hehe, let's log out.
Sonic and Maple logs out.

In Kaede's house:
Sonic was eating food as Kaede was calling her friend.
Risa: Right?! Isn't it awesome?!
Maple: Yeah! But I'm not that good since it's only my second day! Hey, hurry up and play with me, Risa!
Risa: It won't be long now! Once proficiency tests are over, I can log in! Huh? Who's that?
Kaede: Oh, that's Sonic. He's living here now.
Sonic: Hey.
Risa: What?! Is that your boyfriend?!
Sonic: Huh?!
Kaede: What?! No, no! We're just friends, that's all!
Risa: Oh, I thought you did. What's your name?
Sonic: Name's Sonic. Nice to meet you, Risa.
Risa: Likewise. Oh, and make sure you study for the tests too, Kaede, so that you're not the one banned from games next!
Kaede: Ah, good point!
Risa: I know, right?
Sonic: Hey, Kaede.
Kaede: Yeah?
Sonic: You mind if I call you Maple? I kinda like that name.
Kaede: Hehe, sure!
Sonic: Hehe, anyway you got homework to do.
Kaede: Yeah, I know!
