>❣I ɢᴜᴇss ɪ'ᴍ ɪɴ ʟᴏᴠᴇ>❣
VANCE EZRA KNEW THAT HIS PARENT'S WANTED FOR HIM TO HAVE A BETTER LIFE. But, with him being a werewolf, it has been extremely difficult. It was why they had be-friended Derek Hale. Over ten years ago-fifteen years go, perhaps close to sixteen- Derek had been having trouble. With an Alpha pack.
Ezra heard the stories many times. How, his mother came running to help Derek, because, years ago, at a young age, in middle school, Derek had helped her. They worked together to get away from hunters. The Argents.
Phoebe Ezra had tried to convince Derek that it wasn't his fault when the Hale house was burnt down, how he was tricked and manipulated. But, the other wouldn't listen, he blamed himself.
And then, his sister Laura took him away.
Phoebe didn't see Derek for seven years after that, upon hearing how there was an Alpha pack, and hearing rumors about Derek Hale being an alpha. She ran back to help him. Samuel right behind her.
The three kept in touch. It was why Eli and Vance were such close friends.
And sometimes, very rarely, and it wasn't a feeling he actually felt, Vance regretted it. Not his mother helping Derek Hale. But, his friendship with Eli. And not because Eli was a bad friend or anything like that, but, then at least, Vance would have never fallen for him.
Vance had meet Eli at a young age, the two not even able to remember a life without the other. As when Phoebe and Samuel had discovers that they would have a child, a son, they contacted many of thier friends and immediately told them.
Derek Hale being one of them.
And Derek had done the same with Eli was born.
So, Eli and Vance had been in each other's lives even before they were born.
"I can't believe I agreed to this," Vance muttered as he looked up, watching Eli climb up the fence.
Eli turned back, grinning at the one on the ground, unaware of the way Vance had held him breathe when seeing the other's smiling face. "Come on, Van. Don't you always brag about how your faster?"
"Well, I'm definitely smarter. This is illegal. Even if this place belongs to your father," Vance says as Eli dropped to the ground, turning back to look at Vance.
Vance stayed on the other side of the fence, watching as Eli continued to smile. "Fine," he caved when Eli switched the smile to a sadden look.
Immediately, Eli goes back to smiling. Vance takes a few steps back before jumping back at the fence, he jumped over the fence, hands landing on the top of the fence before he pulled himself over the fence. Eli tilted his head up, watching the other with a smile.
"If you don't step back, I'll jump on you," Vance called out.
"I'll catch you," Eli called back.
"You can't catch a lacrosse ball, how are you gonna catch me?" Vance climbed down, before jumping off the fence, landing right in front of Eli.
"Well, I wouldn't let you fall," Eli replied, but was quick to go over to the driver's side of the car.
"Shouldn't you at least take the tarp off?" Vance questioned, as he did it, putting over another car and then opening the passenger door. "How come I've got to always sit in the passenger seat?"
"You don't like to drive the jeep! You say I'm stealing," Eli says and he put the car into reverse.
"Because you are! Whatever. But, I swear, if your dad catches us again, I will throw you at him and leave you to fend for yourself."
"There's my caring best friend."
"I've gotten into two fights for you. What else do you want?"
Eli turned to him, a unreadable look in his face. Eli sped the car up.
"Careful! It's piece of shit as it is! Why steal this jeep? Your dad as cars that are actually awesome!"
"Because when I steal this one, it bothers him," Eli smiled.
"You're just trying to get me killed? You father's gonna hate me."
"He's not gonna hate you," Eli rolled his eyes as if Vance was being dramatic. He stopped at a red light, taking the chance to look at Vance.
Vance heard a total of five heartbeats.
Vance looked over, seeing a girl in a red car. Only the girl, no one else in the car. He sighed as she drove off, about to tell Eli if he followed her, he'd turn him to Noah for stalking, when suddenly the car moved down, a wheel popping.
Eli got out of the car. "What the-" he started, gesturing to the wheel.
Derek stepped out from behind the car, claws out before he retracted them, crossing his arms.
"I'm not paying for those," Eli says.
"Oh, yes, you are," Derek told his son.
Behind him, Noah and Parrish. "Sup, guys," Eli says, sighing when seeing them. He raised a hand to wave at them.
"Vance," Derek called out. "Get out of the jeep."
"On it, Mr. Hale," Vance opened the passenger door, closing the door as he walked the front of the car and joining Eli's side.
"You don't have to call him Mr.Hale," Eli tells him.
"I only call him by his first name when I'm not going to get into trouble because of you." Vance replied.
"You never call him by his first Name,"
Derek told to two to follow him.
"Because you are always getting me into trouble." Vance replied.
Derek sighed, knowing how to two were going to get distracted in conversation and not listen to what he had to say. He had removed his phone, to call Vance's parents.
"Oh, fuck that," Vance says when he sees him mother's contact name. He moved to open the door, only to discover that Derek had locked the door. "Did you put the child locks on?"
"Don't act like a child," Derek answered.
"Okay. Look I'm really sorry. Just don't call my mom. Or dad."
Derek pressed the call button.
"My life is over. I'm dead. I will not graduate high school. I'm never gonna go on a date. Eli, you'll never see me again. And you can blame your father," Vance spoke quickly.
Eli just laughed at him, wrapping an arm around him before pulling him into his side.
