Chapter 2

♠️Clown POV♠️

As I sat on a thick, damp log besides the crackling, roaring, blazing fire I had lit just a few minutes before, I was gazing up to the tiny, beautiful stars. My eyes were glued to the shining, twinkling haze above, my mind was wondering through unkown lands though, questions were whirling around in my head and wouldn't give me a moment to breath. I knew Branzy was almost here, he sent Tailli here a day or so ago, saying he was okay.

I wasn't worried. Not at all, nor was I contemplating going back for him. I was not falling for that sexy, muscular, hot, tantalizing, sultry and hunky-   Point is I was not falling for the guy, He is a friend, a very handsome friend. I just had a hunch that he was in danger, or in trouble.

I knew that a good way to get rid of this stress would be to go have a dip in the lake, so I made my way inside my makeshift home and took of my clothes, put on a random pair of dark purple pants that I 'borrowed' from Branzy, ripped of my mask and sauntered down to the murky, deep, inky lake. The sand was soft but crunchy beneath my feet, and the slight warm breeze was soothing, I stared into the water, looking at my rippled reflection.

My long, flowy, wavy maroon-red hair was tangled up and my dark, void eyes were blank of emotion, as usual, I was covered in scars, one on my lip, a large cut running through my thick eyebrow and passing over my eyelid a large burn mark had made a home for itself on my face across my cheek, stopping at my adams apple, my lightly freckled face looked soft and calm, just like I used to be, before my parents forced me to become an asassin.

I slowly trudged into the water, the water felt relieving as it sank into my parched skin, the seaweed slithered past my ankle and the salmon circled me once before rushing away, all was peaceful, that was ofcourse, before I saw Tailli coming towards my incampment, flying akwardly, looking disheveled. I rushed towards the land, dreading what Tailli may be here for.

I sprinted towards the black and cream coloured bird and carefully lifting her onto my arm, she took the offer imediatly, earning her a glare of envy from Blades; my eagle, I took the page from her leg and read what it said hastily, I only then noticed the rag on the other leg of Tailli, a red cloth. Danger. I realized quickly what this meant and geared up immediately, after speedily putting on my 'costume' and stuffing my mask onto my head, I grabbed my rucksack and packed the essentials:Rope, Bandages, Healing Pots and a quilt.

I then set off, rapidly parkouring on top of birch trees and avoiding monsters, I knew there was a village that had a stable, so, naturally, I would just steal one of the horses. It was all for a good cause, so no harm done. I knew that stealing a horse from that old, decaying, grimy old hag would be easy enough, because even if he was wide awake and cautious his hearing is that equivelent of a fucking rock's, I still had to be stealthy though, he has keen eye-sight and stays up until unholy hoursa in the morning grooming and preening his 'prized horses' to the point of flawlessness, I marched to the back of the old, creaky, crumbling, crusty barn, climbed up a particuarlly tall oak tree's thick branch, where I could easily jump in through the window up top. I cracked my knuckles, bent down low and swiftly bounded from the limb of the tree and caught the brim of the window, I siliently scrambled through the opening, I mutedly jogged over to a dark corner and crouched down low.

I waited for a solid ten minutes until the aged man cherrily called out, "Wait 'ere mee loves, I gotts too get 'ome wa'er" and left with a bucket in hand and smile plastered on his face. This was my chance, I moved out the corner and over to the rickety old ladder and clampered down, I opened the first stall in front of me, Valerie was imbedded on a golden plaque. The horse was a elegant chestnut-cream mare, she had a deep, chocolate-brown mane and tail, pristine, jet black hooves and maroon eyes, gleaming in the flickering mellow glow of the lantern light, "We're going to go for a little trip, okay, Valerie?" I queried softly into her ear as I gently carressed her cheek, she winnied in responce, I smiled slightly, before gliding over to a large, termite eaten barrel and heaving out a leather sadle, I lugged the sadle back over to Valerie, sadled up, opened the raspy gate, pulled my self up on top of Valerie and set off into the evening fog and mist.

Sorry for the short ass chapter, I had a major head ache all through-out the day, so it isn't the best 😅
