Chapter 11

No one will listen and no one will understand
Because I'm crying as much as I speak
Cause no one likes me when I shriek
Want to go back to when it all began

I thought I would be met with my new bedroom, but instead, I was only met with a foggy forest.

All the trees lacked leaves, with wires and parts scattered or wrapped around each and every one of them. I looked up, even though it was foggy, I could see the sky. It didn't exactly look like a sky, it was more a blanket covering. It was a dark violet color, close to blue, with yellow star patterns. Strange, but I can't be distracted, I have to find Nightmarionne.

I turned on my flashlight and began to search for the puppet.

At first, Fredbear and I hadn't said a word, the only thing I could hear was the casual wind and the wires gently hitting the scattered parts. Eventually though, Fredbear spoke.

"(Y/N), are you sure you're okay?"

"Yeah, why do you ask?" I glanced down at Fredbear.

"When you passed out earlier, you started mumbling your brother's name."

I bit my bottom lip while shining my light to check behind trees, I didn't think of it as a big deal, but maybe it's best to tell him. I knew Nightmare would be listening, so I told Fredbear, "It was a memory, I remember days before my birthday, Luke had locked me in my room again. I remember pounding on the door, crying and sobbing. I also remembered you started talking to me." I held up Fredbear, "I almost forgot who I was, if you hadn't called my name I would have been stuck in that memory."

Fredbear only stared back, making me think he was having some form of conversation with Nightmare.

"There's something you should know about Nightmarionne."

"Hm, what's that?" I continued my search for Nightmarionne. Something about these wires and junk just really creeps me out.

"One of the reasons Nightmarionne is an heir to the Nightmare realm is because of an ability that Nightmare doesn't have. The ability to transport others to the past time. It used to use this ability to trap children in the past to build up fear. Think of it like a spider, one that saves its prey until it's time to feed. Nightmarionne can trap children until its bloodlust is needed to be fed."

"...Do you think Nightmarionne is trying to eat me...?"

"We can't be for certain, but you shouldn't worry as long as you don't get stuck in any of the memories you're put into. Just stay aw-"

"Shhh, did you hear that?" I interrupted Fredbear. I flashed my light towards a couple of trees. I swear I saw movement, and it sure wasn't the wind that caused it.

"Be careful."

I slowly nodded, tiptoeing to the spot where I saw movement. I felt my anxiety growing the closer I came to the trees. I didn't have a weapon, but I can't regret making my choice of items. I looked around for anything to use and found what could be a sharp wooden stake.

I set Fredbear down, "I'll be back, I promise." Before Fredbear could say anything I also set down the flashlight, the wooden stake was a little too heavy for my small form and I needed two hands to hold it.

I slowly made my way to the spot, tightly holding the stake. I jumped forward and pointed my sharp weapon to the cause of the sound.

Nothing, huh, I really thought I heard something. Maybe I was just overthinking it.

Something wrapped around my ankles, catching me off guard. Only a small scream escaped my lips as I was being dragged away from the spot.

"(Y/N)!"

I couldn't reach for Fredbear or the flashlight, I held on to the stake when I was lifted up with my body upside down. My eyes focused on the one holding me.

Augh, it just had to be Nightmare Mangle!

Her jaw was almost unhinging, blood dripping from her rows of teeth. Her second head was only laughing, it's laugh was high pitched like a child's. Augh, her breath was more than unpleasant, it was horrible!

She inched closer to me like a snake. No way am I going to be her next meal!

I swung my stake, trying to hit Nightmare Mangle with as much force as a child could. I barely missed when she moved away, her disoriented growl only coming out in glitches. She snapped her jaws at me while I tried to struggle out of the wires she wrapped around my legs. Quickly, I decided to use the stake stab through one of the wires.

Nightmare Mangle screeched and loosened her grip on my ankles, dropping me in the process.

I hit the ground with a thud, hissing from the pain that shot to my side. I lifted myself up to see that I had landed on a root that stuck out, definitely will leave a bruise, jeez give a kid a break will ya?

I didn't have time to process the slight injury when Nightmare Mangle lunged at me. I jumped out of the way and grabbed the stake, swinging it in hopes to hit the metallic mess. She was able to move her head away and send more wires to grab me.

Luckily for me(being all fresh, young, and tiny again)I was quick to dodge any wires that were thrown my way. It wasn't easy though, not only did I have to dodge all these wires, I had to dodge Nightmare Mangle's crushing jaws. That should be it right?

I felt a stinging pain on my left ankle and screamed, hitting whatever it was off my leg.

It was the second head, hitting the ground and hissing at me. I must have forgotten about it. Instantly I raised the stake above my head and stabbed it right through the second head's eye.

The screeching was unbearable to listen to, and while Nightmare Mangle was too distracted by the second head, I hustled at a safe distance and hid behind a tree. I made attempts to capture my breath, but at the realization that my ankle was bleeding heavily, I knew I had to cover it up, or Nightmare Mangle will find me easily.

I used the stake to tear through the clothing I wore, not caring about it, and used the piece to wrap around the injury.

She may not be able to see clearly now that one of the eyes have been destroyed, but that doesn't mean her sense of smell and taste aren't there. I have to set up some kind of trap to finish her off.

I looked around my surroundings, trying to picture a way to trap Nightmare Mangle. I noticed, again, the amount of wires that were hanging on the branches.

Aha! This could be like putting a dog on a leash! I remembered the game we played, Capture the Carl! The Fredlings, Plushtrap, and I learned how to lasso in order to play that game. If I could just time it right, I could use the wires and use it to lasso Nightmare Mangle!

I grabbed a wire and pulled, hoping for it to be loose and easy because at any given moment she could pop up. To my luck, I was able to pull a wire that was long enough for the task. I wrapped it up, threw it over my shoulder and searched for a different hiding spot.

Even as a child right now, I bet I look like a total badass.

I heard Nightmare Mangle's glitched breathing, which surprised me because I thought I had created a good distance from her.

I found a few thick bushes and hid behind them, creating a lasso and readying myself.

Her monstrous growls could be heard, inching closer to my area, I didn't want to check, in fear of blowing my cover. I held my breath and gripped the lasso close.

I just hope I can time this right.
