~Anna's POV~

" You happy now?" I asked Max, annoyed. It was now the tenth day of Itachi gone. I had been teaching Max some moves for the past few days. He had been a good boy, learning fast and stuff but today he slipped.

" Yes!"

" How could you be happy when you have these many bruises?!" He didn't answer but kept grinning like a fool as I wiped the bruised places with peroxide.

" There's a call for you, sis!" Eric exclaimed from the living room. I sighed and went to take the phone from his hands.

" Yo."

" Yo."

" Yo."

" Yo."

" Yo."

" Yo."

" Wait." I put the call on hold and helped Max put the things away then went to my room and resumed. " How are you today?"

" Hungry."

" Didn't you have any breakfast?"

" I'm missing your dango."

" Not an excuse to starve."

" Mom made onigiri. What about you?"

" Your ugly friend can really cook."

" He cooks all the time, certainly more than me."

" Because he doesn't have a girlfriend who can cook for him."

" Point."

" Its been raining here and its tempting me so much! But I have to refrain from my desires so I won't get sick! Hurry up and come back!" I complained.

" That's a good Anna. My work here is almost finished by the way. Just a couple of bundles to go through and sign."

" Bundles..... Seems like a lot of work...."

" I'm not lazy about paperwork unlike some people I know."

" Oh, who? Kindly elaborate." I could feel him smirk from the other end.

" Maybe you've met her."

" So its a girl. You've been meeting a girl behind my back? I'm disappointed."

" Yes. Black hair, matching eyes, always dresses up nicely and ya, she just recently stole my favourite shirt and went through my laptop. Know her?"

" Let me think..... I see her everyday."

" Where?"

" In the mirror, jeez." We both laughed then Itachi suddenly went quiet and I heard his father talking.

" Itachi! Are you talking to her again? You have work to do."

Wow, talk about a strict father.

" Its already finished." He said in response.

" I would expect nothing less of my son." There was silence again then Itachi spoke.

" Sorry about that. I'm kind of on a tight schedule. Dad makes sure I do all my work."

" No problemo. And you lied to him about work, didn't you?"

" It was the only way I could get away without getting scolded."

" Badass. Now you'll have to finish it all before he comes to check it." He gulped.

" I didn't think of that."

" Of course." I said sarcastically. " Get on with your work so you can call me again."

" Why are you in a hurry to end the call?"

" I want you to finish your work quickly so you can come back and be with me, in person. I don't feel satisfied just by hearing your voice."

" Sappy~"

" I can't help it, ok?

" Sappy~"

" Fine. Then look forward to our next conversation. It won't be sappy!"

" Didn't want to make you mad. Sorry."

" Not accepted." I heard him sigh.

" Sor-"

" Hurry up and finish your work!"

" Fine."

" Good grizzly. Bye."

" Bye." I ended the call and tossed the phone aside then got up and went to the living room.

" Sis!" Eric called.

" What?"

" Our whole group is leaving for vacations." That's unexpected.

"When?"

" You're ok with it?" I shrugged.

" You have a life too. Tsumi going with you?"

" Yes. And so is Sasuke and the rest of our class."

" When do you leave?"

" An hour from now."

" And when was this decided?"

" Just twenty minutes earlier."

" Where are you going?"

" The beach." I rolled my eyes.

" Of course. Give me a contact number of somebody who's responsible."

" I'm responsible." He volunteered.

" No. Somebody else."

" Fine. Take Temari's."

" I love that girl." He texted me her number. " You're allowed to go now."

" I got permission!" Sasuke exclaimed jumping up and down.

" Act your own age, will ya?"

" No~"

" Jumpy kids." I mumbled under my breath then sat on the couch and turned on the TV.

" Grumpy about-to-be-sister-in-law." Sasuke said back and I gave him a look that had him shut up.

" Don't say that again."

" H-hai!" Eric was confused looking from me to his friend.

" Is that true?" He asked.

" No."

" R-"

" Drop it Eric and go prepare for your trip."

" Ok.......ay...."

I couldn't sleep so I went with my laptop and printouts in the living room and read there. After a few minutes, I needed a break. Turning on my laptop, I logged in to Facebook in hopes to chat with Tachi again. There was nothing much going on there so I was about to log out and go to sleep when Itachi's chat popped up.

Grizzly: Can't you sleep at a normal time? Like normal people?

Charger: It was my intention but your chat popped up. Btw, did you finish your work?

Grizzly: Mmmhmm. Finally done.

Charger: So when are you coming back?

Grizzly: Day after tomorrow perhaps. Getting the flight booked here is quite difficult despite our power. :-/

Charger: Not everywhere you're idolized :-P

Grizzly: I see what you meant by "our next conversation won't be sappy". You're literally trying to burn me.

Charger: your fault for pissing me off. And now even Eric and Sasuke are gone and I'm stuck with Ugly.

Grizzly: Max is there.

Charger: Just get back as soon as possible.

Grizzly: K. Till then try and stay safe. I'll call you in the morning, ok?

Charger: Ok.

I ended the chat and shut down the laptop then without any further delay, went to sleep, forgetting to bring my laptop and prints back to my room.

~Itachi's POV~

I had been thinking about what Anna told me, to reject permanency. It was true that if I agreed to become a permanent member, I would instantly have promotions and statuses but was it all worth it?

Also, if I take that position, I wouldn't be allowed to study further and that would give the elders a chance to get me married quickly. My father would agree to an early marriage since he himself was married early but my mother might hold a protest but nobody here listens to women much.

I sighed and went to wash my face and when I got back, my phone was ringing. It was Shisui.

"Ohayou Shisui."

"Ah, ohayou."

"Weird for you to call." I commented.

"True. But I always call for a reason no?" I got serious.

"What is it?" He sighed.

"What did you talk about with Anna before you left?" I furrowed my brows in confusion.

"About what the elders said. You were there. Why?"

"She's having existential crisis." I wouldn't ask him how, I knew his deduction skills were excellent.

"She isn't getting suicidal right?"

"Such faith you have in her." Shisui mocked. "But no. She took Kierkegaard and Camus as prime teachers so she's safe."

I breathed in relief. Keirkegaard was a staunch believer in religion so he suggested taking a Leap of Faith to get meaning into life and Camus, he believed in not giving up but persevering in the face of the absurdity of the world. I heard a faint 'ohayou' in the back.

"Is that Anna?"

"Yes."

"Is she ok?" I asked because that morning greeting was a little strained. "Shisui check her temperature-"

I didn't have to complete my sentence. Anna herself voiced a question, 'is 102 degrees normal?', followed by Shisui who announced in the phone.

"And Lo and Behold! She is sick!"

"Oh God. Get her to bed now and I am calling for a doctor so stay there and make sure she doesn't do anything stupid-" I spoke all in one breath, starting to worry about Anna.

"Yes yes. Don't worry too much."

"How can I not?"

"Ooooh Itachiiiiii! He was talking to you all along! Heyyyyy! Suppppp?" Anna took the phone from Shisui and started talking to me. She always had a drunk speech in her fevers.

"Go back to bed Anna and sleep." I ordered.

"Whaaaaaaat? Nuuuuuu. I just got upppppp!" She complained. I sighed.

"Please?"

"Buttttttt-"

"Finish your work, I got things under control here." Shisui said taking the phone back from Anna who whined.

"Yes yes."
