~Anna's POV~

I arrived at the eerie place and shuddered at the cold air hitting my half-bare legs. I took in a deep breath and walked the bridge that led to the dingy, about-to-fall tower in the lake. It was quite the climb but I didn't care about any of that, knowing it was all for the greater good.

Once to the top, I looked around, keeping my Taser in my hand to strike any attacker. My tears had dried up now and the air was stinging my sore eyes. A sniggering sound made me turn to my right, where the darkness amassed. I squinted to get a better look since my eyes still weren't well adjusted to the dark.

"I knew it would turn out like this but for all of it to unfold so quickly... My my, dearest you really surprise me." Jake laughed.

I stood erect, my expressions blank and eyes determined. I wasn't here to play or laugh or be mocked. And when he noticed this, he snapped his fingers and one bulb lit over his head to show me the kingly way he was sitting on a big chair with James and Ronald by his either side.

"Yes, let us start then." He smirked and stood up, walking to me, eyes still connected. "You know I told you years ago that if I couldn't have you, nobody could, I meant that."

I stood still, not speaking not even twitching when he circled me and touched my hair or my shoulder or finally stopping to tug my chin up to meet his eyes.

"So, the best I can offer is, that either be with me or die."

I kept staring in his eyes, trying to find some truth to his words. Yes truth. The dying part seemed easier compared to being with him which left me no guarantees whether he would leave everyone alone for good or not.

"Would you stay away from everybody if I agree to be with you?" I asked in just above a whisper. His reaction was a loud laugh that startled me. I stared at him like he had gone bonkers, which he already was.

"HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA!! Oh Anna! You precious precious child! Of course I would kill them all when I have you!"

Every word he said next, my mind tuned it out. I was shocked when I shouldn't have been. I knew there was no way anything would work out. Not any negotiations. Not any promises. Not any submissions. I knew it. Then why was I so shocked by it all.

I didn't know it until I saw the moon-shone water that my feet had carried me to the edge of the floor knowing there was just one way out of this mess. I wasn't really thinking but I was assured that by my death, Jake won't have a reason to go after anybody and even if he did, I wouldn't be alive to know. It was a coward's solution but I didn't care.

"Now this is something I did not expect." I didn't turn to look at him this time but I had to when there was a loud explosion and the whole place shook. "Your weasel is here. No matter, we nuked the bridge. He won't be able to get here. At least not on time."

As I was busy comprehending all of this, two hands snapped a cuff around my foot that was connected to a big iron ball.

"You won't survive this, don't worry." Jacob said, smirking again. I furrowed my brows in confusion. There was a sound of a machine and an awful lot of air all of a sudden. As blank as my mind was this whole time, it cleared up in an instant when I saw the three get on it. He was going to escape. No.

I jumped and grabbed Jacob's foot to prevent him from getting on. It was difficult with the ball hindering my movement but I still managed it.

"Let go you bitch!" He kicked my hands but I wouldn't let him take off. "You leave me no choice." He kicked me in my face and I loosened my grip. He took this chance to get away. I cursed my weakness. "SEE YOU NEVER!" He yelled over the distance and I saw the big button in his hand. I stood calmly and sighed.

Its alright.

~Itachi's POV~

!!!BOOM!!!

The tower blew up just seconds after the bridge. Anybody barely had the time to react. We all had our eyes shielded from the debris flying everywhere. The big chunks that fell in the lake were on fire. It was a horrible scene.

Anna.

She was still in there.

"Sasuke call the first number in my phone!" I ordered my brother, shoving my phone at him, taking off my jacket and my shoes quickly. "And stay here, no matter what." I ran to the farthest plank of the bridge and jumped in the lake, swimming towards the fire.

It had all gone too far. For Anna to throw her life away like this... I won't ever forgive this.

I held my breath and swam under the surface to look for a body or anything that resembled to it. The blast was big and I didn't know at what proximity Anna was to it so I looked hard for anything.

It was over twenty minutes now, to my search and I still couldn't find her. The lake bed was pitch black so I couldn't see all that well either. Despair and hopelessness started seeping into my mind, telling me there was no way Anna could have survived the explosion and even if she did, she would have easily drowned by now.

I swam a little deeper and my foot hit something solid. Too solid. It felt like iron. I was reaching my limit so I acted fast and guided myself through the iron which was a big ball and on closer inspection, it was attached to a chain. So there must be a cuff.

Bingo.

I found her. Dragging her to the surface with such weight was difficult but I was almost out of breath myself so I didn't have time to stay and unlock the chain which, chances are, wouldn't have even slipped one inch.

My priority was to go to land. Anna's brother met me halfway to help drag us both out of the water. We still had no time to waste to catch our breaths because the girl in our arms might be dying already.

We tried everything. From basic pumping to CPR to aggressive pumping, but to no avail. Anna was still not breathing.

No words were spoken this whole time. Timothy was trying his hardest to stay composed but failing miserably. Sasuke was still on the lookout as he was conditioned to in such situations. I told him to call in some help from the Police Force and their Medic Team along with. They must be coming soon.

Me? I was angry. More than anything else, I was angry. Just looking at Anna's face kept reminding me what had happened and what she did and that she wasn't waking up.

I did not want to lose her. Not like this. Not today. Not ever. If only I had been strong enough...

Timothy just stood up and walked away. This must be hard on him. I lightly brought my fist down to where Anna's heart was and repeated it.

Wake up.

Wake up..

Wake.. Up... Please...

WAKE UP ALREADY!

I brought my fist down with the force that I was used to hitting walls with and that did the job.

With violent coughs and gasping for breath, Anna opened her eyes and clutched at her throat, eyes widened. Before I had the time to comfort her or to even tell her that it was ok, the Medic Team arrived and pushed everybody away to give Anna maximum and immediate attention.

Knowing that the girl I love would now be alright, I stood up and went to the Police Force.

I had work to do.
