Ch. 97 - Looks Like A Real Party

< Chapter 97: Looks Like A Real Party >

♥ Selena’s POV: ♥

I pulled up on the side, parking my vehicle before checking my make up on the car’s mirror again. I let out a smirk, winking at my reflection before pulling the keys out of the ignition and exiting the car, grabbing my purse before completely closing the door. I looked up, walking past the front yard and onto the porch. I sniffed the air as my ears perked up to the sound of music blasting from a distance not too far away from where I stood. I raised one finger and rang the doorbell, checking out my nails and how I picked the perfect color for my outfit. The sound of the doorknob turning caught my attention and I released my hand to the side and looked up at the person in front of me.

“Well hello there,” I smiled, wide enough to show my perfect, glistening teeth in the process. “How have you been, Ryan?” Justin’s best friend looked around as if to look for any other body that was witnessing this moment. “May I come in?”

He looked at me and blinked, shocked at my short sentence. “You,” he breathed, eyeing me evilly, “are not supposed to be here and you know it.” I could see him gritting his teeth, his gaze held firmly into mine as his hateful eyes stared into my unamused ones.

I flipped my hair to the side and smirked at him, finding it hilarious that he actually thought he was threatening me. “Are you done?” I asked, laying a hand on my hip. “Because if so, I’d like to come in now.”

He scoffed. “I’d have to be a psycho to ever let you in here.”

“Really?” I tilted my head to the side, finally amused. “I guess that’s what you are—a psycho.”

“Come again?” he blinked in confusion. I gave him a wink before turning around and walking off, keeping my head held high as I felt his eyes burning into my back. I let out a soft giggle to myself after hearing the door slam shut. Knowing I had gotten step one done, I pursued onto step two, making my way around the house until I reached a side. The movements of curtains flowing from inside through a window captured my attention and I sighed in relief, knowing that this plan could work out.

Slightly pushing the curtains aside, I climbed through the open window, landing in the kitchen which was, thank god, empty.

♥ Megan’s POV: ♥

The music continued to blast, a few people out on what we called the dance floor while others sat at the table, chatting and having fun. Soon enough, we were supposed to start those playful, weird but fun baby shower games and I was excited to see how those would turn out. I currently sat at a table, drinking a few cups of juice and enjoying the songs that were being played by the DJ.

I leaned forward, resting my chin on the palm of my hand as I scanned the crowd of people, my eyes settling on the couple of the night. A few feet away from me sat Justin, who cradled Jamie in his arms as she sat on his lap. Her head rested on his shoulder, her nose nuzzling his neck as a huge smile took over her face. Justin occasionally stroked Jamie’s beautiful hair and I could tell they were talking about something because their mouths would move every now and then, though it felt like they were just whispering joyful things to each other. I’ve never, ever seen them so happy before in my entire lifetime. I somehow knew their bond was stronger than anything else I’ve ever seen, and I would have dreams by the end of middle school portraying the two of them as a couple.

But it made me jealous, you know? A good kind of jealous. To know that my good friend since what feels like forever found the love of her life, which just so happens to be another good friend. I’m just so happy for them, I want to just squeeze the two of them to death and congratulate them on killing everyone with their cuteness. It makes me wish I had a relationship like that. ‘Cause, boy that’d be all I’d need and I’d be set for life.

The silence that came over after the current song ended snapped me out of my thoughts and I teared my gaze away from Justin and Jamie (or should I say… Romeo and Juliet.) The DJ was about to play the next song when something else interrupted the action.

“Wow, looks like a reeeal party,” an annoying voice announced snobbishly, causing everyone to look up at the backyard’s exit, connecting to a small hallway.

My jaw dropped, and I’m pretty sure everyone else’s did, too. I was too shocked to even look at anyone else’s reaction, since I was too busy focusing on wondering if that person was really here. Standing by the doorframe was none other than Selena Marie Gomez.

Everyone became silent, the DJ too distracted to blast another song as confusion spread across the party. Am I missing out on something? Didn’t Justin and Selena break up? From what I’ve heard, I didn’t think they were necessarily friends anymore. I heard the girl’s pretty much a bitch.

“Fuck,” I heard Ryan mutter from beside Justin, and I flickered my gaze over to them.

“How the hell did she get in here?” Justin muttered in the scariest tone I’ve ever heard him speak in. His head snapped towards Ryan, whose lips trembled slightly. “Ryan, was she the last person to ring the doorbell?”

“Yeah..” he whispered, fumbling with his hands.

“Did you let her in?” he growled.

“Fuck no. I told her to go away.”

“Then why the fuck is she here?”

“Man, that’s what everyone wants to know.”

I gulped, turning my attention back to Selena, whose eyes were locked on the table in which Justin, Jamie, Ryan, Allison, Noah, Phoebe and Chaz sat in, otherwise known as the crew.

“How cute,” Selena took a step forward. “A baby shower for a little mistake.”

Justin quickly prompted Jamie off his lap, sitting her down on his chair instead as he stood up, facing Selena. His fists clenched and unclenched as he tried hard to relax. “You really don’t want to do this here,” Justin said in a voice that was meant for only Selena to hear. “Please.”

“Oh, what fun would it be if I just waited after the party?” she laughed bitterly. “You’re with the wrong girl, Justin.” Her voice was loud and clear, everyone in the party heard her words and I could just feel the hearts of every single person in this room drop. Here Jamie was, bringing in all kinds of family and friends to enjoy a beautiful celebration of a soon-to-be-born child with the guy she loves, and here’s this bitch working up the nerve to say something like that in front of everyone who’s important to Jamie.

Justin did a double take, probably just like everyone else did, unable to believe what was just spoken. “Sorry, I’m what?”

Selena stepped even closer to him. “I said,” she smirked, crossing her arms. “You’re with the wrong girl. Jamie’s a bitch and it’s surprising how a person so fucked up could be rewarded with what’s considered a perfect life.”

I let out a low gasp as everyone in the room exchanged looks, feeling sorry for Jamie to be spoken about like that in front of family and friends. I slowly turned my head, my gaze settling upon Jamie and I noticed the tears watering her eye sockets. I looked back at Justin, immediately reading the pain in his iris, hurt flashing in his expression. I could tell he wanted to do something—to say something hurtful back, but he knew he couldn’t. Not here.

“Selena—” his voice trembled as he desperately pushed for something to say under the eyes of everyone he cares about. “Go, Selena. Leave.”

The bitch uncrossed her arms, her smirk widening as she stared at Justin. “I told you, what fun would that be?”

“I’m not playing games. This isn’t meant to be fun. I want you to leave, alright? Now.”

“And since when do I follow the rules?” she asked, amused by the damage she was doing without even noticing.

“How did you even get in here?” Justin asked the question everyone was pondering.

Selena merely chuckled, waving her shoulder off as if she had just finished a hard job. “You left a window open, silly,” she rolled her eyes, as silence enveloped once again.

“I don’t want things to get ugly. I’m giving you a chance here, so work with me. Leave,” Justin spat, anger pulsing within the vein on his neck. Selena leaned even closer, replying to Justin’s remark in the simplest way possible.

“No,” she said, her look asking him what he plans to do about that. She sure knows he doesn’t like that answer one bit. But I couldn’t take it anymore.

“You’re a bitch,” I blurted out, for everyone to hear. All eyes were on me now and I inwardly shrugged, standing up to give them a better view. Selena slowly turned to look at me, her facial expression warning me as she was probably wondering if I really said that out loud. “You. Yeah you. Selena, you’re a bitch,” I clarified, standing my ground.

I looked over at Justin and realized he was staring at me, his eyes watering as he looked at me thankfully.

Excuse me?” Selena bellowed.

“Justin can’t hit girls ‘cause he’s a guy, I realize that,” I began, taking a chance by stepping closer towards her. “But I’m not a boy.”

Selena laughed, eyeing me up and down. “You’re too scrawny to ever do any damage,” she chuckled.

I smirked. “Maybe to you, but to everyone, you’re too fat and that’s why you do proper damage.”

I heard a few chuckles emit from the group of family members and friends and I laughed to myself too, proud with what I had said. Selena stared at me in shock, finally realizing how good I am at this bitch game.

“And who the hell are you?” she asked, narrowing her eyes at me.

“I’m here to give you what you deserve. I’ve had enough,” I crossed my arms.

She raised her eyebrows. “And what are you planning to do about it?”

I shrugged, beginning to walk over to her challengingly. “How about I start with this?”

Raising a hand up, I put all the amount of force I could muster and, with one swing of my arm, I slammed my hand against Selena’s cheek, slapping her so hard on the face that she flew, tumbling to the ground with dirt and grass as her only cushion. I rubbed my hands together and stared down at her, tilting my head to the side like she had done minutes ago.

Her mouth hung open in shock as she held the cheek I had slapped her in, her head slowly looking up at me as I heard murmuring between everyone at the party.

“You have 20 seconds,” I growled. “Get the hell out of here or I’m calling the cops. You do realize you’re intruding on Hughes property.”

Hatred flashed in her eyes as she calmly stood up at the same time as I began counting down. She sprung in my direction, aiming to hit me back but failed as I grabbed her wrist, squeezing it hard and hearing her let out a squeal in pain. I pulled her to me enough so I could whisper into her ear.

“I took more years in karate than you will ever know, so I wouldn’t fucking mess with me if I were you. Leave Jamie and Justin the fuck alone or we’re going to have problems, you and I,” my voice was both firm and strict before I pushed her away, releasing my grip on her wrist. I pulled out my phone from my back pocket and brought up the dial screen. “Let’s try this again. You have 20 seconds to get the hell out of here,” I said loud and clear, waving my phone at her face. “I’m not bluffing when I say I’m calling the cops.”

The look on her face was just priceless. I could tell the girl hates me more than I hate the taste of barbecue sauce—which was on my top list of things I hate. She just shot me a glare and quietly turned, making her way out of the backyard, Ryan following behind to make sure she really left.

“Make sure to close all the windows,” I smiled in success, knowing I had made the problem go away. Turning towards everyone else, I was thanked with the sound of cheering going around.

“Thank you,” Justin whispered, his eyes locked into mine, glowing with gratitude.

“Phoebe was right. She is a bitch,” I patted his shoulder, “you’re welcome.”

Justin let out a soft chuckle before giving me a quick hug. He pulled away shortly, looking into my eyes one more time with a small smile on his face. I could tell he was happy Selena was gone, but the hurt in his eyes was so evident, anyone could tell that he wishes that she hadn’t had come in the first place.

“Listen,” I began, “forget that she was even here. This is a time for Little Jason so enjoy yourself with family and friends.”

He scratched the back of his head. “Yeah,” he sighed. “Yeah, you’re right. I just—”

“–Go to Jamie,” I interrupted. “Don’t talk about this to me now, just go to Jamie and enjoy this moment, okay? Promise me you’ll do that.”

He closed his mouth, swallowing hard before giving me a hesitant nod. “Okay,” his gaze scanned the crowd of people. “I will.” Looking back at me once more, he nodded again, more sure of himself before departing over to the table he was sitting in. Just as he sat down, Ryan came strolling in the backyard, giving everyone a reassuring smile.

“Sorry for the slight interruption there,” he chuckled nervously, “but how about we start those games now?”
