Ch. 56 - The Blame

< Chapter 56: The Blame >

♥ Jamie’s POV: ♥

I was frozen in place, staring at the one boy who meant the world to me. Does he still mean that much to me? I don’t know.

I watched as his eyes flickered over to the sight of the promise ring and I swear I saw a tear slide down his face. I waited for him to say something, or make any kind of movement but he didn’t.

“Well?” I said softly, “are you just going to stand there?”

His eyes met mine again and the look on his face was… intense. It was blank of any emotion, but the emptiness that held on made it a hundred times more sad than if he actually had a sad look on his face.

“You took it off..” he repeated, and I rolled my eyes.

“You said that already,” I glared at him, crossing my arms and shrugging. “Besides… why does it matter?”

I still don’t know why, I just know that something in those words I’ve just spoken made him snap. The use of those words together in a sentence must’ve triggered some sort of anger he was holding back.

“Why does it matter?! Are you actually asking me that question?!” he yelled.

“I wouldn’t have asked if I didn’t want to know,” I scoffed.

“Well then I’ll tell you why it fucking matters. That ring belonged to my great grandfather. He gave it to my great grandmother as a symbol of their love. One day, when my great grandma was already too old, she passed it on to my grandmother and made her promise that she’ll take care of it for her. And, I don’t know why, but my grandma then gave it to me and she told me to save it until I met that one special girl. She told me to choose wisely, and give it to the girl I know I love with all my heart and will do anything for her. She told me to give it to that someone who could take care of the ring because she’ll love me enough to hold on to it for me. And, Jamie, I immediately thought of you. I didn’t have to think twice to make my decision, it was already made. I love you and no one else. That ring is not only a promise of my love for you, it also holds the promise my great grandpa gave to my great grandma and my grandma made to my great grandma and you know what? You wanna know what? I thought it’d be so cute if we gave it to our child one day, and tell him or her to pass it on to that one special someone they love. That ring… could last a lifetime. That’s why it fucking means so much to me. So thanks a lot… thanks for ripping out that history of promises. Thanks for proving me wrong, that you’re not that special someone,” he cried out, stomping one foot on the ground in anger.

I stood there in shock, letting everything he had told me sink in. All this time, I thought he went out and bought that ring and probably spent a fortune on it when, in reality, it was so much more than that. It was so much more sentimental than I ever thought it would be.

I took a step back, scared of how furious he looked and it even looked like he wanted to hit me, but I knew he wouldn’t. I just had that feeling.

He almost threw himself at my direction, probably aiming to get back the ring but something caught him before he could do any damage.

“Whoa, what’s going on here?” Dad asked with a concerned look on his face as he held Justin back, who was kicking all over the place in an attempt to break free from my dad’s arms. Well now I know Dad’s home…

“DANNY, LET ME GO!” Justin yelled, and my dad’s eyes widened, clearly surprised by Justin’s anger.

“Hey now, calm down buddy, what happened?” he tried to soothe him, but it wasn’t working. Justin began to hit my dad’s arms and fight him vigorously but my father still held on to him, scared that if he let go, Justin would do something he’d later regret.

“STOP IT, DON’T TOUCH ME,” Justin screamed out in tears, just as my mother rushed into the room. She shrieked at the sight and rushed over to my side to give me a hug.

Tears began to roll down my face as my mother whispered frantically, “What’s going on with Justin? Why’s he acting this way?”

But I didn’t answer her. I honestly didn’t know how to respond because I’ve never seen this side of Justin. He wasn’t angry and I knew that. He was just hurt… broken… depressed… And anyone who looked at him would confuse his emotions to be anger.

“Okay, you need to calm down,” Dad said strictly, dragging Justin out of my room and I heard him scream at my father some more, struggling to break free of his grip. I couldn’t see them anymore because my tears were blurring my vision, but I knew that they were downstairs by now and that Dad would get rid of him.

When I couldn’t hear Justin’s shouts anymore, my mother gave me another hug.

“You have a lot of explaining to do,” she said softly, and I stared at the promise ring that was still resting on the floor.

♥ Ryan’s POV: ♥

Chaz, Phoebe, Noah, Allison and I sat on the couch, still at Phoebe’s house since Justin left to try to get Jamie back earlier.

“What do you think is going on at the Hughes’ right now?” Phoebe whispered.

“Either a major argument, or they’re already making out,” Chaz chuckled.

“For once in my life, I actually want them making out. It’s better than seeing them fight,” I said, my eyes locked on the floor as I felt guilt rush through me. I really felt sorry for Justin. It was one mistake that’s costing him his life. And what is his life, you ask? Well… Jamie.

“True that,” Phoebe nodded, hugging her legs and resting her chin on top of her knees.

“How long will it be until we can find out if they made up or not?” Allison asked.

Everyone just shrugged.

“No one knows the answer to that,” Noah whispered.

Every thing went silent for a few seconds, but it literally felt like we’ve been sitting here in silence for about five hours. My thoughts began to drift off towards other things when a loud ring scared the crap out of all of us…. literally. It got everyone screaming.

“GUYS, it’s just the doorbell!” Phoebe laughed, and we all glared at her as she stood up to get the door. The minute she opened it, Justin burst into the living room, fuming with anger. Everyone stood up and looked expectantly at him in hopes to hear about what happened.

“Did you guys make up?” Allison asked.

“Fuck no,” he muttered, and we all watched as he went straight up to where Chaz stood and smacked him right in the head… hard.

Owww!!” Chaz yelped in pain, and he began holding the spot in his head where Justin hit him. “What was that for?!?”

“This is ALL YOUR FUCKING FAULT!” Justin yelled and I think everyone’s hearts dropped. He’s never raised his voice like that on any of us. Not his best friends.

My fault? How is this my fault?!” Chaz yelled back, and we all just watched as the scene unfolded right in front of our eyes.

“You’re the one who begged me to have a beer! If it wasn’t for you, this all wouldn’t have happened!” he screamed, raising his fists up at Chaz again. I instantly reacted, running over to him and grabbing him by his arms before he could hit Chaz again.

“Justin stop! What’s gotten into you?” I asked, worried about his odd behavior.

“Ryan, you better fucking let me go or I’ll beat the fuck out of you,” he growled, the words hitting me right in the heart.

Okay… well that hurt. Oh well… he probably didn’t mean it.

“How was I supposed to know you’d get so drunk?” Chaz defended himself, “besides, it was Ryan who got us all going to a club. And we all just wanted you to have fun!”

Justin violently broke free from my grip by punching me once in my right arm. “So it’s Ryan’s fault then!” he yelled at me.

“What?! No! Phoebe’s the one who insisted on a guy’s night!” I stepped back, scared he would hit me again. Justin’s eyes switched from mine to Phoebe’s.

“It was a harmless suggestion! I thought we could all just have some fun! I never said you all should go clubbing!” Phoebe explained, taking steps away from Justin, who seemed pretty pissed off.

Everyone went silent again. We all watched Justin, waiting for his next move so that if he gets out of control again, we could stop him before his anger gets the best of him.

But he did exactly the opposite.

He literally fell down on his knees and burst into tears again. I think everyone in the room wanted to hug the hell out of him. He might’ve said hurtful things and committed hurtful actions, but we’re his best friends and we’ll never love him any less.

“I’m sorry guys,” he sobbed, “I’m just really upset… The woman of my dreams is slipping from my fingers. What if she… Wh-what if she fades away? W-what if she leaves me?”

I leaned down on the floor next to him and patted his back. “It’s okay buddy. We’ve all got your back, you hear me?”

But it was no use. He continued to cry his little heart out.

♥ Jamie’s POV: ♥

My eyes shot open and darkness surrounded me. I let out a groan and turned to my side, hugging my pillow tighter. I forced myself to look at the clock, even though I already knew why I was awake in the middle of the night.

5:16am

Cravings. Ugh… I sat up and was about to turn to wake Justin up when I realized I was alone. For a few seconds, I started to freak out, wondering where he was and then I remembered everything that’s happened between us and sighed.

So there’s no one here for me in my time of need. Great. Oh well, at least I’m just in the mood for some chocolate. I know where Mom keeps a few of those.

I lazily got off my bed and walked quietly downstairs, careful not to wake anyone up. I found my way into the kitchen and opened up one of the cabinets, taking one of Mom’s chocolate bars. Well… I don’t think she’d mind. I mean… I’m pregnant.

Anyways, I went back into my room, opening the wrapper on the way there and was already halfway through the bar when I closed the door to my room. I slowly crawled back into bed, covering myself with the comforter and picking up my phone. For some reason, I found this site all about celebrity news and I read the top headliner, almost choking out my chocolate.

Justin Bieber’s pregnant girlfriend cheats on him with friend.

I immediately tapped on the article, already wondering what the hell made these people come up with such a lie. If anything, he’s the one that cheated on me. As soon as the article loaded, my eyes settled on the pictures they had and my heart sank.

It looks like there were some people who took pictures when Ryan and I were hugging in the streets right after I stormed out of Phoebe’s house. But I wasn’t cheating on Justin. Ryan was just trying to make me feel better. Plus, by that time, I already told Justin I was done with him, so it couldn’t be considered cheating anyway, could it?

I just don’t know. It looks like I never will anymore.
