Ch. 49 - Back At The Hughes'
< Chapter 49: Back At The Hughes' >
♥ Justin's POV: ♥
When we arrived at Jamie's house, the early morning sun was shining bright, making it seem as if the house was glowing. I was extremely exhausted, but couldn't be happier to be back here. I have to admit though, I'm a bit nervous to see Jamie since she hasn't answered my texts or my calls. But that doesn't mean I don't want to see her. I definitely, definitely want to see her. I need to see her smile, smell her scent, taste her lips, touch her soft skin, hear her laugh...
I collected a couple of my bags and walked up the front yard as Kenny carried the remaining stuff. My hands were shaking when I rang the doorbell and then I stepped back, waiting for someone to answer.
A couple seconds later, the door swung open, revealing a sleepy, frustrated Jade standing inside. She looked at me and her face brightened a little.
"Justin! You're back already?!" she beamed, pulling me in for a hug.
"Yeah, it's good to be back," I dropped my bags to hug her back, squeezing her tightly. She kissed my cheek and let me inside along with Kenny, who she greeted seconds after. "And are you okay? You seemed a bit tired," I asked.
"Me? Well, it is pretty early," she explained.
"Oh, I'm sorry, did I wake you up?" I said, feeling guilty.
"No, no, I was already awake, don't worry about it!" she giggled. I forced a laugh and then scratched the back of my head.
"Is Jamie here?" I suddenly asked, my voice low.
Jade's smile dropped and she avoided eye contact with me. And that's when my heart sank.
"Yeah... In her room," she whispered.
What? That's not so bad. She's here, isn't she?
"Oh okay, I'll go greet her," I gave her a smile, getting ready to run upstairs to Jamie's room when Jade stopped me.
"No, you don't understand. She's locked herself in her room almost ever since you left. I tried everything but she hasn't come out for a day and I'm worried sick because I don't even know what's wrong or why she's so upset," she explained.
"H-how do you know she's upset? She could be angry, or-"
"-I don't think so, to be honest. When I was trying to get her to come out of her room to at least tell me what's wrong, I could hear her crying softly. I even begged her to open the door but she's ignoring everyone, and everything," Jade's voice sounded as if she was about to cry any second now, making my breath hitch.
"I called her several times and sent her a billion texts and she never answered me or returned my calls…" I spoke softly, running a hand through my hair. "I think I know why."
Jade's eyes widened and she looked at me with interest. "What? You know why she's so upset? What'd you do?"
"No, no, I didn't do anything," I said quickly before pausing. I lowered my gaze to the floor and stuffed my hands in my pocket, sighing to myself. "Gimme a second," I muttered before heading straight for the stairs, climbing rapidly through each one. After I got to the top of the stairs, I made a turn and ran towards Jamie's door, knocking softly on it.
There was silence. So I knocked again.
There was still silence. I knocked once more.
"Jamie!" I called, knocking repeatedly now, "Open the door, babe."
Nothing.
"Please, Jamie. It's me… It's Justin," I said, continuing to knock. After a while, I stopped and waited to hear for any sort of sound.
"Go away," I heard her murmur.
"I can't. I'm worried about you. Please open the door. Please," I begged, turning the doorknob in every direction possible, even though it was locked and it wasn't going to be opened anytime soon.
"No."
I leaned my forehead on the door and let out a deep sigh. I closed my eyes and began having all these different thoughts about Jamie. If she had been stuck in this room since I left, has she had any sleep? Had she eaten something?
Oh god. Did she eat something?! She's pregnant, she has to eat something, or else what's the baby going to eat? How is it going to grow?
My eyes shot open and I began to panic. My left hand formed a fist and I began to pound violently at the door, shouting for her to open up.
"It's no use!" Jade shouted from downstairs, "She's not going to open up to anybody. Who knows how long she's going to stay in there?"
I gave the door one last pound before turning around to look at Jade, who was at the bottom of the stairs. "But she needs to eat!" I yelled, getting angry. "She can't starve herself in there!"
"I tried everything, Justin…" Jade's voice softened, "She'll come out when she's ready."
"What if that's A WEEK from now?!" I shouted, feeling my face get wet.
"What if? Well… I don't know.."
"What do you MEAN you don't know?!" I stomped, "She needs to eat!!"
I soon realized that me begging for Jamie to open the door wasn't going to work anytime soon. I kind of began to panic again and, without thinking about my actions, I ran down the steps past Jade, who stood there in pure confusion.
"Justin? Justin what are you doing?" she shouted after me, as I headed towards the back of the house. I found the doors that led out to the backyard and I slid them open, running out into the fresh, green grass. Soon after, Jade was looking out at me from inside the house, wondering what in the world I was doing.
I did a silent prayer as I looked up at the house from outside, where Jamie's room is located. When I finally spotted her window, I noticed it was opened and I almost did a happy dance right then and there, but decided I should save that for later. Instead, I ran towards the huge and tall tree the Hughes' had in their backyard and grabbed a small branch to help me begin to get on top of it. Slowly and progressively, I began to climb the tree, ignoring Jade's constant shouting to stop and that I'm going to get myself injured.
A while later, I finally made it to the top of the tree, making my way down a thick branch that spread out further towards Jamie's window.
"Justin! Stop! You are going to fall!" I heard Jade's persistent cries and I felt a little bad for getting her this worried. I know it gives her such a big scare when something we do looks dangerous but I honestly don't care if I fall from this tree. If I do, and I land on the ground alive, I would only get myself back up and try again, because this is Jamie we're talking about, and she needs me. I know she does.
I was reaching the end of the branch and crawled two inches further before I felt my foot slip and suddenly, my whole body flung downwards until I was hanging from the branch. I heard Jade let out a frightened shriek and then begin crying hysterically.
Shit, she probably thought I was going to fall off.
My breathing was beginning to get a little shaky as I lifted myself up, sliding my right knee back onto the branch so I could work on getting my entire body on top of it again. Once that was accomplished, I steadily resumed nearing the very tip of the branch. Luckily, the tree was pretty close to the house itself, so I used the house's back wall to lean on while I carefully stood up on the thick, yet skinny branch.
If this thing snapped, I'm in deep shit.
I looked out at Jamie's window, which was probably around three feet away from my reach. I could still hear Jade crying and pleading desperately for me to come back down. Then she saw me staring at Jamie's window and she began to freak.
"NO! Justin! DON'T JUMP! PLEASE DON'T JUMP!" she screamed, and my heart began beating three times its normal speed.
Sorry Jade. I have to. Jamie needs me, I thought. I approached the window with one step closer and reached my arms out at it as much as possible. Once I positioned myself, I leapt that small distance and, luckily, I caught the outside window sill with both hands. My feet began to kick at the house's wall and I lifted myself through Jamie's window, landing on her bedroom floor. As soon as my butt hit the ground, I heard the most terrifying scream I've ever heard in my entire existence. And that scream did not belong to Jade.
"Fuck!!" Jamie screamed, her eyes shedding tears from the fright. "You scared the shit out of me!!!"
I have no idea why, but part of that made me smile. Even though I scared the Bahamas out of her, she actually looked really cute. Maybe it's because I haven't seen her in more than 24 hours by now.
"Sorry," I chuckled, getting up from the ground.
"Sorry? SORRY? You came in here, making me think you were some rapist breaking into the house to my room and all you say is 'sorry'?!!" she yelled.
I stared at her with a smirk and there was a sudden silence. She stared back at me with an angry expression on her face and over the next few seconds, it began to fade until she literally just burst out laughing. I chuckled at her silliness before walking over to her and giving her a quick kiss to calm her giggles.
"I'm sorry, babe, I just really needed to get in here. Whether that meant climbing through your window or not, I had to get to you somehow. Why have you locked yourself in your room? You've been ignoring everyone… even me.." I whispered, brushing a strand of hair over her ear.
Her happy smile disappeared as soon as I mentioned this, and she backed away a little. "S-sorry.." she choked out. I kept staring at her, waiting for her to continue, but she never did.
"I would like more than just an apology, Jamie. Why are you upset? Do you know how worried I am? I'd like to take the moment to remind you that you're pregnant. There's a growing baby inside of you. Our baby. You and I. You need to take care of yourself and eat enough to feed both you and the baby, and according to your mom, you haven't eaten since I left," I tried to explain.
"And I see you came back early," she spoke softly.
"That doesn't matter right now," I dismissed the subject, "You need to tell me what the hell is bothering you because it's no use hiding it, Jamie. I already know."
"You d-do?"
"Yeah. But I want it to come out of your mouth. I want you to have the strength to tell me what makes you upset because I want to know that you trust me. Don't you?"
"Well.. yes, but-"
"-But what?" I crossed my arms. "You do love me, right?"
"Of course I do, Justin! That shouldn't even be a question anymore!"
"Then why wouldn't you answer my calls? Texts? Messages? I was thinking you hated me. That you were mad at me and I had no idea what I could've possibly done to make you upset," my eyes were beginning to water.
"Well you didn't make me upset. The problem isn't you,"she admitted.
"Then what is?"
"It's me," she simply answered.
"You? How are you the problem?"
"I don't deserve you. And you don't deserve someone who isn't good enough for you, Justin," she broke down into tears, taking me aback for a second.
"Whoa, whoa, hold up, hold up. Where the fuck did you get the idea that you aren't good enough?" I asked.
"Everyone says so. It's all people are talking about on places like Twitter. 'Jamie's a bitch, she doesn't deserve Justin, she's using him, she's taking away our baby's innocence'. That's what your fans are saying, Justin. Your Beliebers don't like me. They don't think we should be together. We don't belong together," she cried out.
"But Jamie, the true Beliebers are supporting us! They're fighting for us, trying to convince others that you make me happy, which is true!"
"You don't get it, though!" she screamed. "I can't be with you if things are going to be this way. If there is more people that want to throw out our relationship than there is people that support it. But there's clearly more haters!"
"No there's not. And I don't give two shits about them. It's my life and it's your life. No one can tell us who we belong with except our hearts. And my heart belongs to you, Jamie. I love you, and I know you love me too and that's all that matters."
"But I'm also not pretty enough, I'm not good enough, your fans disapprove of me and it's never going to work!"
"YES it is! Jamie, stop talking like this! Do you even hear yourself? You can't say that because those things are bullshit! You're amazingly gorgeous, you'll always be good enough and my Beliebers do approve of you. The real ones do."
"You don't know that."
"Yes I do. And do you even know what I did to get in here just to get you to leave your room? I climbed that huge ass tree in your backyard and fucking jumped into your window and didn't give a shit if I fell or even killed myself because I wanted to make sure you were okay!" I yelled, trying to make her understand that I truly do love her and that she shouldn't care about what others say.
But there was silence in the room right after I had said that.
"Y-you did?" she formed a light smile.
"Of course I did. You're my little princess," I smiled back. "I would die if anything happened to you."
"Aww!" she squealed, running towards me and attacking me with a bone crushing hug. Her lips crashed into mine and I almost lost my balance for a second there. Her lips moved eagerly with mine as I melted into the kiss, feeling her heavenly lips against mine. Every kiss makes me fall deeper and deeper in love with this girl, and just as I thought it was going to get better, she pulled away. "Oh and by the way…" she said, then raised her hand and smacked my arm really hard.
"Oww!!" I yelped, holding the spot where she smacked me. "What was that for?!"
"For being so stupid! You can't just risk your life for a girl like me! You do know I would also die if anything happened to you," she complained. "You scared the crap out of me there, what if you fell?!"
I let out a small chuckle. "Sorry, baby," I pouted, caressing her cheek. I leaned forward slowly and pecked her lips. "And I still haven't forgotten," I said.
"Forgotten about what?"
"You need to eat something. Now."
----
"I'll take that," Jade said, taking Jamie's empty plate of food to include it in her dish washing duties.
"Thanks mom," Jamie smiled, and I was glad things were back to normal. You know, after Jamie got a whole speech of why she locked herself in her room given to her by her mother, while I got one of how dangerous it was to climb that tree. But what matters now is that Jamie is happier and she finally ate something, which I was extremely grateful for.
"Oh, I almost forgot," I spoke up, walking into the kitchen where Jamie and her mother were in.
"What?" Jamie asked.
"Did you even go to that doctor's appointment? You know, since you locked yourself in your room and all," I questioned curiously.
"Oh. Well I did have the chance to, I just went straight back into my room when it was over. It was pretty early too and I don't think Mom noticed," Jamie nodded. A smile began to form in my face as I walked closer towards her.
"So tell me," I took her hand, "according to the doctors, how's the pregnancy going?"
"Yeah, you didn't get the chance to tell me either," Jade piped in.
Jamie smiled at her mom and then back at me and I swear, I think her eyes were glowing. "Everything's running smoothly. Despite that fall I took on the day of our first date, the baby's fine and it's healthy as of right now."
I let out a sigh of relief and kissed Jamie's hand before caressing it with my thumb. "D-did… Did they tell you the gender?" I asked nervously. I don't know why I was so nervous to know what sex our baby is, maybe I'm just that excited.
Jamie smiled and shook her head. "We have at least one more month until we can find out the gender. They told me I could schedule an appointment for an ultrasound anytime after that wait is over," she replied.
"Really?" I beamed. "Just one more month and we'll finally know if it's a little baby boy or a little baby girl?"
"Just 4 more weeks," her smile widened. "Do you personally prefer a boy or a girl?"
"I don't care at all, as long as it's the product of your genes combined with mine," I smirked, intertwining our hands.
"Same here," she giggled, leaning our noses together and giving me an eskimo kiss.
"Okay," Jade interrupted, "before you guys begin kissing and everything, I just want to say that I'm extremely happy for the two of you and congratulations. You guys are so perfect for each other!"
"Thanks," I smiled genuinely at her, while Jamie blushed a very cute red.
"No problem!" she winked, "now you two may carry on."
I took those words as my cue to wrap my arms around the beautiful girl in front of me — the one carrying my beautiful child — and begin kissing her like she's never, ever been kissed before.

HEEYY GUYS! I have a few things to say!
First off, in addition to the IGHP characters getting a Twitter, they now have an Ask.fm so you can ask them cute little questions. At the very ending of this note will be every character's name with their twitter and ask.fm so you know what they are :)
~~ BTW, you don't need to have an ask.fm account to ask a question. You can send one in anonymously. Just letting you know. ~~
So here are some chapter questions for you:
1. What gender do you want the baby to be? (I know I already asked this, but I wanna see if your opinion changed)
2. Is Jamie good enough for Justin? :)
Just curious to see your responses. Lol, anyway, here are the IGHP character info.
