Ch. 31 - Just Friendship

< Chapter 31: Just Friendship >

♥ Justin's POV: ♥

"It's too early for this," Phoebe complained, walking to the section of the private jet where there were couches. I was laying lazily on one, watching the t.v with disinterest.

It was almost seven in the morning, but everyone was more exhausted than usual.

"Lay down, take a nap. You'll feel better," I advice, making myself more comfortable. She sighs and looks at the television, yet her mind seemed to be focused on something else. Her eyes met mine again and I immediately knew what she wanted.

"Okay," I sighed, "Come here." I tapped the spot next to me and moved over a bit to make space for her. She smiled lightly at me while walking towards where I laid.

"How do you always know what people want?" she smirked, plopping down next to me and cuddling up to my chest. I casually wrapped an arm around her to keep us both warm.

"I just do," I shrugged, causing her to giggle. Then, a random question popped into my head. "By the way, where's Noah?"

I knew Jamie was somewhere around here. She can either be sleeping, taking a shower, or eating.

"Probably still hogging up more food," she laughed, rolling her eyes.

"Oh wow. Did anyone feed him before we left?" I chuckle.

"Who the hell knows?" she giggled, sighing into my chest. I rested my chin on top of her head and hugged her tighter. There was a sudden moment of silence and neither of us said a word. The t.v was the only source of sound besides us breathing.

"I can't believe it," Phoebe broke the silence, "You and Jamie are having a baby."

I let out a deep sigh and tiredly rubbed my eyes. "It's bizarre, isn't it?" I breathed.

"To tell you the truth, I've always imagined what the four of us would be like in the future," she smiled, the fourth one referring to Ryan.

"Is that so? Then, how'd you picture us?" I ask curiously. She snuggled closer towards me and I wrapped my other arm around her.

"Well.." she spoke into my chest. "I always believed you would make it far with your singing career and you really have. I'm really proud of you, Justin," she said, raising her head up to look me dead in the eyes.

A smile formed in the corner of my lips. "Thanks Phoebs. Coming from one of my best friends, it means a lot."

Her eyes twinkled before she rested her head back on my chest. "It's true, though. And I honestly imagined what if one of us ended up dating? But it was just too weird to think about. I guess now that I see you and Jamie together, I can't think of a better couple than the two of you."

"Aww, thank you," I grin, hugging her tightly in my arms. Just as I looked up at the television, Jamie walked in with a plate of sandwiches on her left hand. She took one look at us and smiled, completely unfazed by our position together on the couch.

Phoebe, Ryan, Jamie and I are all best friends and we're not afraid to show friendly affection towards each other. For example, if I saw Jamie cuddling with Ryan, I wouldn't mind at all. Phoebe and I were always close, just like Jamie is close to Ryan. The only difference is that Jamie and Phoebe are both girls and Ryan and I are both guys, so when the time comes that we need a chat with someone our own gender, we go to them. However, out of the four of us, Jamie and I have always been the closest. And we always will be.

"Do you guys want any sandwiches?" she asked, holding up the plate.

"I'm too tired to eat," Phoebe yawned, snuggling closer towards my chest.

I chuckled. "Of course that sounds like Phoebe. And as for me, I'm fine babe but thanks," I winked at her and she shot me a glare - even though I caught her blushing.

"Suit yourselves," she laughed, leaving to what we call the kitchen in this jet. I felt Phoebe's head look up so that her eyes met mine again.

"You saw that, right?" she grinned.

"What? The blush?" I laugh.

She nodded slowly, "You two are so cute."

"Thanks, and how can I miss that? I always see the little actions Jamie does. I love her so much," I smiled at the thought of her.

"And guess what?" she poked my chest.

"What?"

"She loves you back. Harder."

"Noah, there are two sandwiches left. Does your stomach have enough space for them?" I laughed, seeing as he was eating up most of our food.

"Oh my god, YES!" he stood up, eyeing the plate of sandwiches on my hand.

"Jesus, calm down! They're all yours!" I giggled, setting the plate down in front of him.

"Thanks, and I apologize for my appetite," he smirked. I sat down on the chair in front of him, resting my elbow on the table and holding up my head with one hand.

"That's okay. And why don't you join Justin and Phoebs to watch some television?" I ask curiously. I was wondering why in the world would he spend his time here instead of where everyone else was. If I was to go where Justin was, he would've stayed here alone.

"I'm fine, I just like some quiet space," he chewed on the sandwich that would've originally belonged to Justin.

"Are you sure? 'Cause if that's the case, I'm invading your quiet space right now," I point out.

He shook his head while swallowing what was in his mouth, "No, you're good. Talking to you isn't bothering me."

I raised an eyebrow, "As opposed to what? Talking to Phoebe? Justin?"

He stopped before he could take another bite and lowered the sandwich so he could look at me. "What do you mean?" he whispers.

Well here's where I play detective, ladies and gents. "How come you're away from Justin and Phoebe, saying you want quiet space, but then when I'm here it's suddenly 'okay'?" I question him, trying to dig my way into a conclusion I'm not sure of. I honestly didn't suspect Noah of anything. But the way he used his words led me to an unknown suspicion.

"I didn't mean for it to be interpreted like that," he shrugged. Alright, maybe I'm wrong. There's nothing to be suspicious about. "I guess I just don't want to really talk to anyone."

Hold up. What?

He just blew his cover.

"But... You're talking to me..." I spoke softly.

His eyes widened and he dropped his sandwich. He pushed the plate away from him and stood up. "I'm not hungry anymore," he muttered, turning to leave towards where I assume he's sleeping on this ride. A look of confusion crossed my face and I immediately stood up, chasing after him.

"Noah!" I call, catching up to him and turning him to face me. "What's wrong? Did I say something to bother you, or..?"

"It's nothing you said," he shook his head, gazing at the ground.

"Then why are you storming off?" I ask, looking deep in his eyes. We were both silent for a moment as he took a pause.

"I'm just... Jealous..." he whispered, refusing to look at me.

"Jealous? Of what?"

"I don't know.." he turned around, but didn't make a movement to run off. I waited patiently with millions of questions in my head. Jealous of what?

"Yes you do.." I prompted, putting a hand on his shoulder to comfort him. "Just tell me."

He turned back around to face me, this time really looking at me. "I'm jealous of the way my Phoebe is cuddling with your boyfriend right now," he blurted out.

I blinked three times, my face blank of any expression. That's it?!

"Seriously?" I say slowly. He furrowed his eyebrows.

"What do you mean? She's my girlfriend, and that should be me cuddling her," he points out.

I rolled my eyes, "Noah! They're best friends! It's a friendly cuddle, dude! You have nothing to worry about. It's just what we do, we love each other as friends," I explain, then a grin forms on my face. "Except for Justin and I. There's nothing friendly about our relationship."

There really isn't. Sure we're best friends, but we're nowhere near the friend zone. We're way past Cloud 9 all the way up to what we call love. Maybe that explains why I'm pregnant.

Noah sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "So nothing's going on between them?"

I shook my head.

"And there's nothing I should worry about?

I shook my head.

"So Phoebe still likes me?"

"A lot," I smile genuinely. He returned the smile shyly and played with his fingers.

"Then I guess I owe an apology," he said, giving me a sheepish grin.

"It's okay, let's just go in there and claim what's ours," I wink, referring to Justin and Phoebe.

"Cool," he laughed.

I motioned him to follow and we both made our way to where the long couches were. As soon as we walked in, I noticed Justin and Phoebe both fell asleep in each other's arms. I let out a small giggle but was a little disappointed that I won't be able to nap with my own boyfriend.

"You know, there's a room with a bed in here," I told Noah, "You go ahead and sleep there and I'll crash here on the couch."

He raised an eyebrow at me. "You sure? You can just take the bed and I'll crash on the couch," he suggested.

"Aww c'mon, I'm making an offer here," I smiled.

"But I'm sure the bed is more comfortable, so take it," he prompted.

"No, you take it," I reply stubbornly.

"No. You."

"No. YOU."

"Fine, but you're coming too," he said, "just so we both have a good sleep."

"Wait, are you sure? You don't think us sleeping there wou-"

"-We're friends, aren't we?"

"Yeah..."

"So it's friendly, nothing more. Just like Justin and Phoebe," he smiled lightly at me, and I couldn't help but smile back. He did have a point.

"Oh what the heck!" I said, "Why not?"

*******************************************

Hey guys!

I already have the next book planned after this one's done. It's a new story with a new plot and characters.

I don't know if "I Got Her Pregnant" will be followed by a sequel, but if it isn't, you guys will have that new book to read. I'm starting to plan it, so that'd be good!

Oh but don't worry, my friend, I know what you're thinking ;)

The answer is no. "I Got Her Pregnant" isn't ending anytime soon, TRUST me :3

Another question I'm still debating:

Should I make a Christmas special for this book? :P

What should I make it about?

Jamie on the side >>>
