♥ Justin’s POV: ♥

“Justin.”

I snapped my head over to see Jamie standing there with her arms crossed, her gaze locked on my entire body. I brought the tip of the pen I currently held up to my lips and bit down on it.

“Jamie,” I spoke her name, copying her. I heard her let out a soft laugh before she leaned down so we were at eye level.

“What happened to don’t worry, I’ll change Jason’s diaper?” her voice sent tingles down my spine and I shivered slightly, feeling my heart flutter just at the sound of her angelic voice. Taking the pen from my mouth, I set it down on the notepad sitting on my lap before holding Jamie’s cheek with my palm, stroking the skin with my thumb gently.

“I forgot, baby,” I gave her a light smile. “I’m sorry.”

She closed her eyes and I watched as her cheeks flushed a cute red, her skin transferring heat to my own. I stared at her calm demeanor, the sound of the rain clacking against the window soothing my body, my heartbeat accelerating at the fact that my fiancé was standing right in front of me.

“I had a feeling you would,” she slowly opened her eyes, revealing her breathtaking, chocolate-colored orbs. “I already changed his diaper.”

I let out a puff of air, lowering my hand to my lap. “Well now I feel bad.”

“Don’t,” she quietly giggled, leaning in to kiss my nose before plopping herself beside me on the couch. Wrapping her arms around my hips from the side, she nuzzled her nose to my neck and took in my scent before exhaling in happiness. “What’cha doing?” she hummed.

I leaned my head to rest on hers before looking down at the notepad I was holding.

“I’m just writing,” I shrugged, clicking the pen from the top.

“Can I get a preview?” she wiggled her eyebrows teasingly before looking up at me with pleading eyes. The minute I met her gaze, I felt my body growing weak.

“Fine,” I scoffed, knowing exactly the kind of charm she radiates towards me, earning her pretty much whatever she wanted. “This is all I’ve got so far.” Sliding the notepad to her view, I flipped the page over from the current one and waited for her to read the lyrics written down on the page. In just a matter of seconds, her glorious laugh filled my ears, ringing joy into my heart.

“Are you serious?!” she snorted, her uncontrollable laughter registering in my mind as the most adorable thing in the entire universe.

“Yeah, I’m serious,” I chuckled, looking down at what was written on the page:

Nothing!

“It’s one word and an exclamation point. That’s just about all the music you’ll get from me right now,” I teased.

“Oh come on, I know you’ve written at least something,” she protested, still bursting into giggles.

“I have, you’ll just have to wait and hear it,” I chuckled. “Want to see how this one goes?” I pointed to the page before singing the word ‘nothing’ in a perfect G note. Jamie burst out laughing again and I heard faint cooing coming from upstairs. “Babe, is the baby up in my room?”

“Yeah, on the baby seat. Why?” she giggled.

“I’ll go get him.” I gave her a quick kiss on her plump, pink lips before strolling upstairs to find Jason babbling to himself. “Aye, how’s my swaggie OG doing?”

Jason’s eyes flickered over to me and he stared at me with interest, kicking up at the air in excitement as his cooing became more intense.

“Someone’s happy to see me,” I smirked, picking him up into my arms and showering his face with multiple kisses. I then turned around and looked out the window, the glass being attacked by several raindrops at a time as the storm kicked in. There was a quick flash, which blinked twice before completely disappearing. A few seconds later, the sound of a loud crash filled the entire house as thunder emitted from the sky. Jason immediately stopped babbling as his ears perked up at the sudden noise. I leaned him slightly away so I could look at his face and watched as tears glossed over his eyes and the next thing I knew, he was crying uncontrollably.

I blinked three times, shocked at the reaction I had gotten from him.

“Oh don’t tell me you’re scared of thunder,” I mumbled teasingly, kissing his adorable cheek before shushing him soothingly and murmuring that things are going to be okay because his swaggie daddy is here.

Kissing the top of his head repeatedly, I headed back downstairs where Jamie looked at me, concern flashing her eyes at the sight of Jason crying.

“He’s scared of thunder,” I explained, sitting down and adjusting my son into my arms.

“Aww,” Jamie laughed softly, leaning her head on my shoulder and caressing Jason’s face as we both tried to calm him down. A couple of seconds later, he settled down and stared at the two of us, his eyebrows furrowing together while he studied us in pure concentration. Jamie and I stared back at him in amusement and suddenly, another thunder rang across the house and Jason was back to crying.

“Fucking shit,” I murmured, causing Jamie to smack my arm. “Oww!”

“Don’t curse in front of him,” she scolded, “He’ll pick up the habit.”

“Baby, he’s barely a couple months old,” I laughed. “He ain’t getting shit from me.”

She smacked me again.

“Watch that be his first word,” she looked me in the eyes, her lips curled into a playful smirk.

“If shit was his first word, he’s a hell of a baby,” I chuckled, only causing Jamie to roll her eyes.

“Doofus,” she muttered, pecking my lips. “I don’t know why I love you.”

I turned to look at her. “Get things sorted out, then. You do realize you’re going to be Mrs. Doofus,” I winked.

She let out a loud laugh before rolling her eyes for the second time. “I actually don’t mind that.”

We both stared at each other with a loving aura circling the atmosphere of our eyes. If it was up to me to describe it, I’d say we were having hardcore sex through the eye contact we were making.

♥ Ryan’s POV: ♥

“You owe me $20 for the pizza, by the way,” I smirked, turning to look at Phoebe.

“Twenty dollars,” she scoffed. “Yeah right.”

“Okay more like a dollar for the soda,” I waved my hand dismissively. “Big difference.” Phoebe let out a chuckle before putting her jacket on, getting out her small umbrella from her purse. “Hey are you sure you don’t want me to go with you? It’s pouring down pretty harshly out there and I kinda get worried.”

“I know you do but I’ll be fine, trust me,” she smiled. “I promised Noah I’d sleepover at his house and some rainstorm isn’t going to stop me.”

“Alright, just–… Be careful, okay?”

“Okay.”

“Good night, Phoebs,” I grinned, opening the front door for her.

“Night, Ryan,” she nodded, giving me a quick hug before exiting my house and into the storming weather. I watched her rush towards her car under the umbrella and, before I knew it, she was driving off down the street until I could no longer see her car. Shutting the door, I turned off the television Phoebe and I were watching and turned off all the lights as well before climbing upstairs to my room. Sliding under the covers, I laid my head down on the soft pillow and closed my eyes, letting the clacking of the rain relax me.

Suddenly, the sound of thunder burst into the room and I fluttered my eyes open as the sound of the doorbell ringing from downstairs followed straight afterwards. My eyes widened and my thoughts drifted into the fact that this only happens in like, scary movies. Convincing myself I was crazy for thinking that, I slipped from my bed and quickly made my way back downstairs, cursing the fact that I just had to be home alone at a time like this.

I grasped the doorknob into my right hand and twisted it, pulling it open to reveal the girl I love.

“Allison?” I called out in surprise. She didn’t seem to be carrying an umbrella—or carrying anything, for that matter—and for that very reason, she was soaking wet.

“Ryan,” she whispered, her lips quivering from the cold her body was engulfing itself with.

“Hey, c’mere,” I said softly, pulling her inside and shutting the door. “What are you doing here late at night? And why didn’t you bring an umbrella? You’re going to get sick, Allison.”

“I don’t care,” she blurted out. “I just—I had to see you.”

“Why? It couldn’t have waited until tomorrow?” I asked.

She shook her head and I reached down to pick up the blanket Phoebe was using while she was staying over and wrapping it around my girlfriend.

“This is important, Ryan,” she whispered. “I wanted to tell you sooner but… I just couldn’t.”

I raised my eyebrows in confusion before meeting her gaze once more.

“Whatever it is, you can tell me,” I nodded confidently, taking her hand in mine.

She looked back at me dubiously, hesitation overcoming her completely before she let out a deep breath.

Here goes nothing...
