Ch. 7 - Gone

< Chapter 7: Gone >

♥ Jamie’s POV: ♥

Since Justin had another concert at the same arena as yesterday, we agreed to spend all day together just so that I wouldn’t miss him as much when he leaves again. We were currently cuddled up on the couch and watching t.v when, suddenly, the sound of Jason’s cries emerged through the hallway. My maternity instincts kicked in, and I bolted upright. Justin’s grip on my arm tightened, as if he didn’t want me to leave.

“I have to go get him, Justin,” I turned to him, gazing into his deep brown eyes.

“Bring him here,” he half-smiled, caressing my arm with his thumb. “I want to see my son.”

I returned the smile and kissed his cheek. “I’ll be right back.”

I got off the couch and headed towards Jason’s separate room. When I opened the door, the sound of his cries were louder but once I leaned up against the crib and he saw me, he began to quiet down.

“HI baby,” I cooed, reaching my arms towards him and picking him up. I covered his face with kisses and cuddled him in my arms. “You’re getting so big,” I whispered, my heart warming up. He’s almost four months. Four months. That may not be a lot to most people, but giving birth to him feels like it was just yesterday. How has it almost been four months already?

When I walked out into the living room again, I spotted Justin leaning on the back of the couch, waiting for me to come back with Jason.

“Little J!” he cheered, laughing to himself as I walked over to the couch and sat down right next to him. Jason stared at his father, wondering if he was crazy and Justin looked into my eyes. “Gimme him,” he held his hands out, his fingers clawing excitedly at the air. I let out a small giggle and carefully handed our son to him. Justin kissed Jason’s cheek and slightly tickled him. He admired how much his own son resembled him before he relaxed on the couch, scooting closer to me so that our shoulders were touching. “How many children do you want?” he asked, catching me off guard for a sec.

I bit my lip, continuing to look at Jason while he happily kicked the air. “Umm…” I pondered, “I don’t know.”

“Oh babe, you give me the number and I’ll give them all to you. How many?” he nudged my shoulder.

“I definitely don’t want just one,” I chuckled, smiling a bit. “I mean… I love Jason so much that it makes me want another kid, you know?”

“A girl would be nice,” Justin hummed happily. “Daddy’s little girl. I’d spoil her rotten, I swear to you, she’ll be able to get whatever her little heart desires.” He paused, turning to look at me. “Just like you.”

My heart skipped a beat. “You love girls, don’t you?” I joked, laughing loudly.

“I just want a daughter,” he pouted, shaking his head at how hard I was laughing. “Maybe in the future.”

“Maybe when we’re married,” I smiled wide, leaning my head on his shoulder before reaching over and caressing Jason’s head. “Now give him back to me, he needs to eat.”

“Hey, no fair, I just got to hold him,” he whined.

“Justin, give him to me,” I giggled, as he let out a groan and passed Jason over to me.

“You’re no fun,” he mumbled, and I stood up to go to the kitchen and feed Jason his formula.

♥ Justin’s POV: ♥

As Jamie left to the kitchen, I couldn’t help but check out her ass while it swayed from side to side. Not to mention the way she was walking was slowly turning me on. I licked my lips, resisting the urge to do further naughty things to her. But before my thoughts could even wander elsewhere, my phone began to ring and I slowly pulled it out of my pocket and looked at the caller I.D:

Ryan Busty

I accepted the call and pressed my phone to my ear.

“Ey bro, how’s it going?” I cleared my throat.

“Oh, I’m just peachy,” he muttered sarcastically, his voice sounding depressed.

I frowned, digging my nails into the material of the couch’s surface. “Talk to me, what’s wrong?”

“Can I just… Can you please come over? I know you have a concert to go to soon but I know the hotel you’re in isn’t far from where I am,” he said.

“And where exactly are you?” I questioned.

“Some cafe near that huge theatre place. It has a huge, green sign, you can’t miss it,” he breathed.

“Alright, I’ll be there as fast as I can,” I assured him.

“Thanks Justin, I owe you one,” he sighed in relief.

After we hung up, I got my lazy ass off the couch and slowly strolled over towards the kitchen, finding Jamie sat on a stool, feeding Jason from a milk bottle. My lips curved into a smile as Jamie looked over to me.

“You look beautiful with him,” I commented, stuffing my hands into the pocket of my jeans. I watched as her cheeks blushed red and she looked away, unable to maintain my gaze.

“Thanks,” she shyly responded. I awkwardly swayed from left to right, not knowing how to say what I wanted to say.

“Umm,” I sighed, “I’m leaving a little early.”

She snapped her head back up to look at me. “Wait, what? As in… Now?”

I nodded slowly and whispered, “Yeah…”

“No, wait, I thought we were spending all of today together before you go?” she whined.

“Ryan needs me, baby,” I said, scratching the back of my head. “You’ll see me when I come back from the concert.”

“But that’s hours from now,” she pouted like a child, which was ironic because she was in the process of feeding her own child.

“I know,” I whispered, walking towards where she sat. I wrapped my arms around her waist and nuzzled my head to the crook of her neck, kissing her heated skin. “I love you,” my voice came out muffled as I brushed my lips against her neck.

“I love you too,” she said sweetly, and I pulled away and kissed Jason before turning to leave out the kitchen. “Justin,” she called me back, and I stopped and looked at her. She stared straight into my eyes and said, “Be careful okay? And stay safe.”

“I will,” I chuckled, knowing how worried she gets. “See you soon.”

And then I was gone.

When I arrived at the cafe Ryan claimed to have been in, I casually got out of my car and crossed the street to enter it. I wasn’t dressed how I would usually be dressed in, not to mention I was wearing a baseball cap, and I was praying that no one would recognize me. So far, it seemed to be working and I took advantage of it as I stepped foot inside the cafe.

I scanned all the tables, looking for the familiar face of my best friend until I had spotted it on a table near the back. There weren’t many people in here, which just made it a lot more easier for me.

“Thanks for coming,” Ryan nodded at me the minute he saw me, and motioned me to sit down on the chair in front of him, so I did.

“Again, it’s nothing,” I shrugged and forced a smile. “Now what’s up?”

Ryan hesitated, leaning forwards to rest his arms on the table before he looked at me. His gaze seemed distant and I sat there patiently, waiting for him to get his thoughts together.

“Allison’s father was needed early at his new job,” he began, and my heart sank. Now I knew what this is about. “She’s gone.”

I swallowed hard, looking at the person who’s like a brother to me. I couldn’t even begin to imagine what he must be feeling because… Well, the thought of losing Jamie like that frightened me. It just didn’t seem humane to me, and I had trouble processing that kind of idea in my head.

“She’s…” Ryan sniffed, tears surfacing in his eyes. “She’s elsewhere now… She left m-me…”

“Bro, you know that’s not true,” I protested. “You know that if it was up to her, she’d still be here right now.”

“I love her,” he whimpered. “For God’s sake, I love her. Why did she have to be taken from me?”

“Maybe fate has other plans,” I spoke slowly. “Maybe you’re meant to find someone else. Someone who’d really make you happy.”

She made me happy, Justin!” he raised his voice. My eyes widened and I looked around the cafe, wondering if anyone had heard him.

“Do you mind?” I whispered, making eye contact and letting him know I was trying to be undercover here.

“Sorry,” he whispered back, a tear sliding down his cheek. “B-But.. What if fate wants me to end up a lonely old man?”

I shook my head stubbornly, leaning back on my chair with confidence. “Nope,” I disapproved, “That’s not what’s going to happen.”

“How do you know?” he scoffed, “For all we know, it could be true. I could end up loveless.”

“I’m telling you it won’t happen, Ryan,” I enunciated each word, refusing to believe that theory. “I won’t let it.”

“What do you mean, you won’t let it? You’re not one to decide my fate,” he rolled his eyes.

“Well I don’t have to let it happen because it just won’t,” I argued, not sure if I was making any sense whatsoever. But I didn’t care. I refused to believe it.

“And I’m saying you can’t just decide that yourself,” Ryan muttered. “I mean, look at you! You have Jamie, you have a son… You have a family already and I don’t.”

“Ryan, I’m 19,” I sighed. “You’re 19. You’re not supposed to be worrying about whether or not you’ll be starting a family. You’re young… You have time, for fuck’s sake! As of me… Well, I’m different. Jason was a surprise—and a good one, may I add—but it’s not like everyone’s having babies this young. Some people have them even younger than me. But, trust me, you have more than enough time.”

Ryan was silent as he stared out into space. I reached up and took off my cap, running a hand through my hair before adjusting the baseball cap back onto my head. We sat there in silence for what seemed like hours until I realized he wasn’t going to say anything back.

“Tell you what,” I sighed, slapping the table to gain his attention. “What do you say after my concert, I call up the boys and we hit the club?”

“Justin—”

“—It’ll help you forget about… Her…” I suggested.

Ryan shook his head. “Getting drunk won’t help the pain.”

“It will for the night,” I prompted.

“If it’s just one night, it’s not worth it.”

“It eases the pain.”

“I’ll remember it in the morning… Plus a headache.”

“But it eases the pain.”

“The pain comes back, goddamit.”

“It eases the pain for the night,” I repeated.

“Justin!”

“It eases it,” I smirked. “Even if it’s for tonight, it helps you deal with it. You’ll see how good you’d feel when you’re not thinking about her. Trust me, bro.”

Ryan sighed, giving me an annoyed look. He bit his lip, thinking about my suggestion.

“Don’t you have another concert tomorrow?” he raised an eyebrow.

“Nah, not tomorrow. We’ll be spreading out soon so I’ll be here in Canada for about 4 more days,” I said.

“Then who’s gonna stay sober enough to drive home?”

“Noah doesn’t drink much. He can do it,” I smiled. “Problem solved, now say yes!”

Ryan rolled his eyes. “Fine… Just this one night.”

“Good boy,” I smirked. “Now come on, I have a concert to get to.”

♥ Ryan’s POV: ♥

Justin killed it, as usual. The concert was amazing, the fans were ecstatic and the performance was out of this world. But as proud of my best friend as I was throughout that whole concert, I still couldn’t stop thinking about Allison. And that made my heart swell up.

After meeting up with Justin backstage, he, Scooter, Kenny and I all made it into a black van and the plan was to stop by the hotel room, drop Jamie off at home and then hit the club. I had called Chaz and Noah a while ago so they, of course, would have to pick us up too.

“Have you even told Jamie about the whole club idea?” I nudged Justin’s shoulder, peeking at his text messages to his fiancée.

“No,” he sighed, “I’m going to tell her when we get to the hotel. I mean, I don’t want to bring up the idea over a text message.”

“Well aren’t you a good boyfriend?” I teased, and before we knew it, we arrived at the hotel.

“Ryan! Since when did you join Justin?” Jamie greeted me once we arrived at the suite, a huge smile on her face as she walked over to me and gave me a hug.

“Since our little meet up,” I chuckled, hugging her back.

“Oh yeah, Justin told me you needed him,” she pulled away to look at me, concern filling her eyes. “Is everything okay?”

The thought of Allison circulated my thoughts again and I gulped. “Allison left me…” I trailed off awkwardly.

“Oh my god,” Jamie gasped quietly. “I’m so sorry, I—I didn’t know…”

“No, it’s okay, I’ll be fine,” I reassured her, trying to resist the tears.

“Umm… Yeah… About that…” Justin’s voice interrupted our conversation and we both turned to look at him. “I kinda suggested Ryan and I hit the club with the other boys for tonight.”

Jamie furrowed her eyebrows. “The club? Really?”

“Come on, baby,” Justin pouted, wrapping his arms around Jamie’s waist. “It’s just one night. Think about Ryan for once. This is going to make him feel better.”

Jamie sighed, slightly shaking her head. “I thought when we drive back home, you’d stay with me.”

“I’m all yours for the next 4 days, though,” he pointed out, kissing her cheek. “I just want him to forget his problems for a night. It’d be good for him.”

Jamie stuck out her bottom lip, contemplating on the idea. “You’re going to leave Jason and I?”

“You’ll be with your parents,” he reminded her. “It’ll be fine, I’ll be back before you know it.”

Jamie blew out a puff of air in slight frustration before crossing her arms. “Fine,” she said, picking up one of her bags. “Now let’s get out of here.”

“Where’s Jason? I can carry him off to the car,” I suggested.

“Aw thanks Ry, he’s sleeping but I’ll get him into the car seat,” Jamie smiled at me, and we all ran all over the place, picking up our belongings and getting ready to leave for good.

I ended up calling shotgun and sat next to Kenny, who drove us, while the Bieber family (Justin, Jamie and Jason) sat in the back seat. It was kind of torture, considering I could hear them flirting and making out the entire ride back.

I mean, c’mon… I wish I still had someone to do all those things with.

“Alright Justin, see you in about 4 days,” Kenny turned around to look at him once we had arrived at Jamie’s house.

“Thanks Kenneth,” Justin winked, carrying a sleeping Jason on the car seat while Jamie and I were just getting out of the car ourselves. Kenny eventually got everyone’s bags settled and we thanked him one last time before he drove off.

The next part consisted of Danny and Jade kissing the fuck out of Justin and Jamie and then death squeezing me into hugs.

“We missed you kids,” Jade gave a huge smile, causing Justin to goofily roll his eyes.

“We missed you too,” he laughed before meeting my gaze. “Chaz texted me. He just picked up Noah and is on his way here. You good to go?” I stuffed my hands into my pockets and nodded, almost in a shy manner. “You okay?” he whispered. I nodded again, even though we both knew it was a lie.

Justin gave me a half-smile before helping Jamie out with their son and carrying him to his room, leaving me alone in the living room with Jamie’s parents.

“So are you and Justin going out so soon?” Danny asked, relaxing on his couch and sipping from a bottle of beer.

I cleared my throat, “Yeah.”

“Some sort of guy’s night, eh?”

“Yeah,” I repeated.

“Hmm…” he scratched the small bit of stubble on his chin. “Just don’t get too drunk.”

I chuckled, shaking my head. “I won’t,” I said, even though part of me felt like I’d eventually give in.

Around five minutes later, Justin entered the living room with a fucking hickey on his neck. He was talking on the phone while walking over to me, and hung up after a few seconds before we locked gazes.

“That was Chaz,” he explained, “They’re out front right now.”

I tried holding in my laughter. “Dude,” I slapped his shoulder, “What the hell?”

“What?” he looked at me in confusion, and I raised my hand up to caress the love bite on his neck. He eventually caught on and shoved my hand away. “Shit,” he muttered, and I burst out laughing. Justin merely rolled his eyes and grabbed my arm, pulling me towards the front door. “Bye Jade, bye Daniel.”

“Bye guys,” Jamie’s parents said at the same time. Justin dragged me to the front porch and we both saw Chaz’s car parked with its windows down and Chaz’s face poking out.

“Get in!” he shouted. “We ‘bout to get turned up tonight!”

I eventually stopped laughing and proceeded to sit right next to Justin on the back seat.

“Hey guys,” Noah smiled at us from the passenger side.

“Hey,” Justin and I said in unison. He was about to turn back to face forward before he stopped and did a double take.

“Is that a hickey?!” Noah squinted through the dark to get a better glimpse of Justin’s neck.

Justin groaned, covering the love bite with his hand. “No,” he grunted.

I burst out laughing again, feeling my sides hurting for the second time today.

Who knows? Maybe it will be a good night tonight…
