Chapter 4

After the whole me losing oxygen, I was finally able to calm myself before looking at Ana, "Did Mom know?" I asked. Ana shook her head, "Your mother wasn't the type to tell much that goes on, but all she knew was that Jack cared deeply for her, she only thought it was a brotherly love." Ana said. Realization hit me before I smiled slyly, "So you mean to tell me Jack got friend zoned?" I asked snickering. Ana chuckled, "It does seem like that doesn't it?" Ana asked. I nodded, "Yeah." I said.

I continued to look at the water, "When did Dad come in the picture?" I asked. "One of our missions, your mother had gotten herself in an entanglement. Thankfully at the time your father was in war, he also got mixed up. Your father saw your mother, who was injured deeply, she had wounds all over, some major, some just little scratches and bruises, he suddenly felt the need to protect her. Your father was able to get your mother back to us. That's when the two started seeing each other more often, until at least a couple years later he asked her to marry him. She said yes, you didn't come into the picture until another couple years past, that's when your mother was pregnant with you. A couple months later your father was sent to a mission...he never came back." Ana said.

My eyes softened and looked at Ana. She looked saddened, as if she was remembering that day. "Your mother was devastated to hear the death of her husband, she became depressed, she even almost forgot she was pregnant with you, it took the whole team to cheer her up eventually, and she was back to her old self." Ana said.

I held the seashell close to me, just when I thought Mom couldn't have such a tougher life. "W-what happened to Mom?" I asked. Ana looked at me, "The same that happened to your father, she went on a mission, and she never came back, I remember her final words before she just...disappeared." Ana said. Ana looked away, and I knew she was trying to keep herself composed, I suddenly felt guilty.

"Would Mom and Dad lived if she wasn't pregnant with me?" I asked. Ana quickly looked at me with a wide eyes. I haven't realized until now that I had tears rolling down my cheek. Ana walked over to me and hugged me close, "(Y/N), you were the happiest thing that could ever happen to them both, maybe even to the whole Overwatch team." Ana said sharing a few tears of her own.

"I just wish I could have met them." I said with a sob. "I know, trust me, your mother said the same thing when you were born, she only wished your father was here to see you." Ana said. "I sometimes wondered wonder if I have a purpose here or not." I suddenly blurted out. Ana had gotten me to the point where I wanted to talk to her about all I've felt so far today. It was a habit, especially with her and Reinhardt.

Ana pulled away and smiled, "You have a big purpose here, you may be young, but you're getting older, there will be a time when your purpose grows larger the more you know..." Ana wiped a few tears away with her thumbs, "And when that happens we'll all be ready." She said. I smiled, "Thanks Ana." I said. "Anytime (Y/N)." Ana said. We stood there silently.

"Who else knows we're down here?" I asked. "Only Reinhardt, he's suppose to let us know when someone grows a little suspicious with here you are." Ana said. I smiled bigger, "Thanks again Ana, it really was nice to be at least on the shore of the ocean, it's like I found a little piece that was missing." I said. Ana chuckled, "Don't thank me yet, you still have one more thing to see." Ana said. I raised an eyebrow, "Like what?" I asked. Ana pointed behind me and I looked. My jaw dropped with a gasp.

The ocean was beautiful when I first came here, but now that sun was setting, illuminating a pinkish orange glow in the sky. Stars were appearing in the sky is it was getting  darker, but the ocean, it was just glowing from the sun. It made the water sparkle like treasures.

"It's so beautiful." I said with a smile. "These moments were the best, especially when your mother and father shared it together." Ana said.

I sighed pleasantly before my eyes closed, taking a deep breathe in, I opened them and looked at the seashell in my hands. "What would Jack say if he found out I have this?" I asked. "Just say it was a gift from me, well technically it is." Ana said.

"Yeah..." I suddenly gave yawn. "Tired? Already?" Ana asked raising an eyebrow with a grin. I chuckled, "I tend to stay up late, I blame  Hana for it." I said. Ana nodded and rolled her eyes, "Kids and video games these days." She said.

It was sad to leave the ocean, I wanted to just sleep on the beach for the night, but Ana and I both knew how Jack would react to that.

I was in my room getting ready for bed. I had placed my new seashell on the nightstand next to the picture of my parents before I was born. There was another picture, with just my mom holding my small form before she went on her mission, the mission she never came back to.

I sighed and plopped down on my bed, shutting all lights, there was this particular thing I had as a night light. If I remember correctly Satya built this globe that has different shapes as a gift when Mom was pregnant with me. I turned it on, and it flowed with stars all over the room. It made me feel like I was in the stars. It was one of my favorite gifts, and I could see why Mom enjoyed them as well.

I set the device on a different nightstand and soon fell asleep. And I what dreamt was something I found very odd, and very frightening too.
