Chapter 3
After reading that note, I took the hand glider down by the cliffs. Though this place was known for the rocks and such, beaches were known, and a lot of plants as well. I enjoyed the scenery very much.
I landed to the ground and looked around, "Ana?" I called. "Right here." I hear Ana say as I look behind to see her. "So why do you need me here?" I asked. Ana held a smile on her face.
"Nothing much, I just think that you should have a chance to actually enjoy the scenery, a little closer." She said. I raised an eyebrow and was about to ask before Ana pointed to the ocean. My mouth suddenly dropped and my eyes widen.
"We're gonna walk on the beach!?" I screamed.
Ana chuckled while putting a finger to her lip on a hushing matter, "Yes, I think it would be just a little satisfying." She said. I hugged her, though for someone very elderly, she was really tall. "Thank, thank you! You're the best!" I said. I pulled away and gave a frown, "But what about Jack, won't he get mad?" I asked. Ana raised an eyebrow with a smirk.
"I'm one of the oldest members of this team, frankly he will respect my decisions." Ana said. I couldn't help but laugh, "Ana you can't use elderly respects every time." I said. Ana shrugs, "But it works." She said. I only shook my head with a chuckle.
Ana gestured for me to walk with her and that's what I did. I was so excited I was beginning to pull Ana to the beach.
Finally reaching the beach area, I took off my shoes and socks, letting my bear feet snuggle into the warm sand, it felt nice for once.
"We need to do this more often." I said quietly to myself.
Ana had done the same action and we continued on the beach.
I wonder what the ocean feels like, I thought.
"Why don't you go and find out yourself?" I heard Ana said. I groaned deeply, I need to remind myself not to think out loud. "Can I really? This for sure will flip Jack out." I said. Ana laughed and waved at me to do so. I smiled and ran over to the shore. I wore shorts, so I should be fine. I poked at the water with my toes and pulled away quickly. Then I slowly entered both feet into the water. "How is it?" Ana asked.
"It's cold." I said.
Ana came over and joined me. I looked at the water, kicking my feet to make small splashes. I watched little fishes swim around my feet, some even nibbling on my toes, causing giggles to erupt from me.
"It's so peaceful, and a little ticklish too." I added. Ana couldn't help but laugh, "Cold, peaceful, ticklish? At least two out of three of those words best describes the ocean." Ana said. I couldn't help but laugh as well. I looked at Ana with a big smile, "Thank you Ana, this could be my last chance doing this." I said. "Well, could be more, when you have your own responsibilities." Ana said. I rolled my eyes, "Yeah that'll come when I'm your age." I said. "What does that mean young lady?" Ana asked grinning. I just shrug with a chuckle.
We stood there silently enjoying the little and rare time standing on the sea shore. I looked back down at the water, seeing a seashell, I picked it up. It was beautiful, in the sun, it glowed and glistened. It was blue and white, the spikes giving it a unique form. It was big to say the least.
"Ana, why did you bring me here?" I asked. "I wanted to ask myself the same question, but I always remind myself why." Ana said. This time I looked at Ana questionably. Ana continued, "Your mother loved the ocean, everything about it excited her, one time, we had sea turtles, hatching from their eggs, there was many birds ready to just prey on them, but your mother was a tough one. Your mother escorted those sea turtles into the ocean." Ana said. Ana pointed to the seashell I held, "Collecting seashells was one her favorites, she would have a whole collection." Ana said. I looked at the seashell closely.
"What was another thing she liked about the ocean?" I asked. Ana chuckled and pointed to the sky, "The stars, at night your mother would get up while everyone was asleep and stargaze, she liked how they glistened and twinkled, how the moon would reflect off the ocean just right, it was mostly when she had nightmares." Ana said. I perked up, "Nightmares?" I asked. Ana's gave dropped a little, a little sigh escaping from her lips.
"Your mother suffered from night terrors, nightmares were almost a blessing since she wouldn't wake up screaming and calling for anyone's name. We figured it was because of all the wars that have happened, how she was involved in most, or just so happens to get into the mix, either way, it caused her some trouble. That's one of the reasons why she and your father loved each other, because he was her protector of some sort, kinda got her out of her seashell. After your father died she learned to be more independent and stubborn." Ana said finishing. When Ana looked at me, my eyes were wide before I softly lowered them, "My mom went through that much?" I asked. Ana nodded, "Always worried Jack, your mother saw him as an overprotective brother, he always told her what he thought would be too dangerous for her, he just didn't want to see her get hurt again." Ana said. I snorted, "Sounds like me almost." I said.
Ana held a grin, "Oh but it's much different, you see (Y/N)..." Ana looked at me straight in the eyes, "Jack was in love with your mother before she met your father." Ana said. I almost choked on my own spit.
"OH MY GOSH REALLY?!" I shouted.
