You waited, and waited... Then you knocked on the door again. You are not sure if Sa heard you knocking or not. Could she be busy? Or she just doesn't want to see you? Regardless of the reason, you refuse to leave.

It had been a long time. Without the protection of Sa's domain, your body was exposed to more and more raw energy flowing endlessly inside the Sea of Quanta, sometimes you found yourself weak, fell to your knees, or even coughed up blood, but yet you stood your ground, waiting for Sa to open the door...

Being alone, enduring this horrible feeling... Overwhelmed with power that would kill even the likes of Kevin... Yet your body still rebuild itself, cell by cell, it was not a pleasant feeling.

You started to feel that Adaptation might be a curse, rather than a powerful ability... Doomed to endure pain longer...

What motivates you to stand out there, is your desire of winning the heart of Sa - whom you do not view as a God of sorts, but only as a beautiful woman that you love.

Alas, the door opened, and you were carried inside...

You are once again brought into the presence of Sa - a Higher Existence.

The intense pressure she puts on you with her mere presence alone affects your body differently than what you experienced out there in the Sea of Quanta, but yet, it's deadlier, only that it is not when she doesn't want it to be.

She seems to be meditating, while glaring at you, studying every aspect of your body. Her emotions are unreadable, you cannot tell what she is thinking, but there is one thing you are sure of : She sure is damn beautiful, with every second you gracefully look at her, she is more beautiful.

Her expressions shifted slightly, as if disgusted by your thoughts and emotions towards her.

"Say, why are you still alive, human from Earth?" - Sa asked, her tone still as cold. "Not everyone, even with extraordinarily enhanced bodies, can last a second out there." She adds, the only interest she has on you.

"I... I actually have fused my genes with an Emperor-Class Honkai beast..."

You said, her eyes scanning you for any deception. Although she knows the answer, she wants you to confirm it.

"I have an ability called Adaptation. Maybe that is why?"

You said, waiting for her to respond, you hoped that she won't throw you out there, you can endure it but, the feeling is unpleasant.

To your surprise, she just sat there observing you, still cold and unreadable as ever.

"So..." - You tried to take the advice to heart and initiate a conversation with her. "The weather is beautiful... Heh?"

You looked like an idiot.

Sa did not find it amusing at all.

"..."

The awkward silence between you two resumed. But you quickly broke it again.

"So... Sa... What do you often do?"

You asked awkwardly, not sure if it is a good question to ask to a girl you want to know more of.

"Why do you want to know?"

To your surprise, she asked you another question, she seemed to be wanting to continue the conversation, or that could be your delusion, but it is better than nothing.

"Well... I want to learn more about you..."

"..."

"... Please? Like I can start over at everything about me then y-"

"Forget it." - Sa shut you down with a dismissal hand sign, then closed her eyes, her irritation visible on her face. "Not interested."

Although it did not go well, she did manage to talk to you way more than you had expected.

Which could be a hope to you?

"Listen, since I was so kind to leave you to death out there. But since you are not dead yet, I guess that's just your bad luck. So choose wisely, I can grant you death, a painless, merciful one, or be crushed by my presence, slowly, very detailed, down to the bone experience." - She said, her tone colder than before, full of power, letting you deciding your fate.

"Is there an option where I get to stay by your-"

"No."

"But I want it!"

"No."

She said, her tone was angrier than before, your body then was split in two. Blood was everywhere, numbness was soon replaced with pain.

"Ahhh!!!!"

But then you found yourself to be perfectly fine.

"Huh?"

"Annoy me again and I will make it worse."

The pain he had just experienced a split moment ago was real, it was not an illusion, yet he could not explain why he is still in one piece.

"Ugh..."

"So? What is your choice?"

"Please..."

For a moment, you felt something crushed you.

And you were still in one piece.

Your limbs' being torn from you.

Every bone being removed.

Horrors beyond imagination were unleashed upon your mind whenever you pleaded, but yet you did not stop, despite the overwhelming sensation of pain.

It is about time, Sa would ask you again, thinking that you would have changed your mind, and would seek for a gentle death.

So she granted you the final chance : "What is your answer? To die immediately, or to die many times, brought back many more times, to an endless torment that you so foolishly chose?"

She awaits your response.

You stood up, legs still shivering from the pain and the trauma you got, even your arms cannot support you to rise, your body begging you to utter one word.

After a long moment, you stood up, all sweaty, faced upto her at long last.

"I would choose to be with your side, Sa. Because I truly, truly love you with all my heart."

"..."

"It is painful, yes, but that means I get to be with you too, right? It's a win for me."

Sa was getting annoyed, clearly written on her face that she wants him dead. You closed your eyes, but to your surprise, nothing happened.

Sa lifted you up and put you to the side, then she closed her eyes.

"Do not disturb me. You are simply... Not worth my time."
