Six
The brightest of lights shines bright through a canopy of blinds. Hand raised up, blocking out all of the startling sudden rays of sunlight, and fluttering open my eyes I propped up both of my elbows to survey where I am. Recognising, and remembering, it to be Lucifers penthouse i slam a hand on my mouth. ' Oh no. This can't.. be good.'
I am suddenly reminded I'm not in my clothes I wore, to Lux, instead I am wearing a red satin dress gown of his. It's the same one as last.
' How did I.. did, did he change me? Does this mean he saw me naked?'
I spare a quick second, noticing I did in fact have on my bra intact and I slept in it. I count my blessings I wasn't completely bare. It would have been mortifying for my pride.
" Ah! Ellie, you are finally awake. It means you can finally have a go at eating this breakfast, I had maze help me with, I made. Fresh juice. A apple. Chocolate chip pancakes. You name it!"
Lucifer, a prance in his leaps and bounds, sets down a whole tray table of assorted breakfast items right in front of me, on my lap. " I wasn't positive on your stance with tomatoes, so I left that out, but I do come bearing Ketchup the American people call tomato sauce. It's for the bacon and sausages." He made a point to poke his finger at each known item of food, naming them, before he swooped in taking the piece of toasted bread and fed me the burnt slice.
" Your appetite is need of a good rejuvenating after last night, darling. I don't want you to running on empty a stomach today. Eat up!"
I am being force fed food by the devil. That is a sentence I'd thought I'd ever hear myself say. I chewed, and swallowed, the toast.
" Lucifer." I say, dodging his fingers trying to feed me. " I'm not hungry." I tried not to giggle at his pouting lips. He's so dramatic.
" At least drink this! It's an anti-inflammatory electrolyte beverage for hang overs. I had maze run and go to the store, for it." He insisted. He indeed did have a water infused with a pink tint, it was frizzling.
" Okay fine. I will drink it. Only 'cause I do have a headache." I inhaled a big amount of the water, rehydrating, and felt its effects automatically taking its course. With help from my heightened metabolic system.
' Headaches. I must've drank too much cause I still get them even when I'm immortal.'
" I feel better now that I've seen you have that. Now, onto the obvious. Why were you here at lux? Dancing with my mum? On the contrary, you looked quite fetching in that dress. I had to shoo away those bothersome Little boys, from trying to get a good look at you."
Lucifer stated and I was reluctant to meet his gaze. Why am I ashamed of having a good time? Despite who I was enjoying, which even then seemed a little surprisingly odd to me I did, dancing with.
His eyes followed my hand as it placed the glass on the serving plate. " She invited me out, Luc. I didn't want to say no, it would've been rude of me to say otherwise."
" Ellie. I know my mother." He said, clasping a hand on mine. " Much as I admire your ability to see goodness in others, my love, Mum in the past has deceived those around her. She's after all the reason I was cast out of heaven. Banish to rule hell for many of Millennia's." He added, I don't know what had come over me but I lean towards Lucifer enclosing each arm in a circle. Thereafter he was quick to respond, putting an arm around my middle part. " What is this for? Zero complaints, darling, just curious. Is all."
" I don't know. It's a feeling in my bones, that I couldn't ignore." I told him, merely giving a little shrug. " and to reassure you I am capable of caring for myself. But If you don't want me around her, I'll listen."
If it made Lucifer feel less tense I'd keep my distance. I take account of how much limited proximity there is, I could smell Lucifers breathe and the remnants of his latest choice of drink. It's addicting. He does a shuddered intake of air.
' Don't do it. Don't do it.'
I moved forward, my heart spiking a million beats per second, proceeding to try and kiss Lucifer. He leaned back avoiding my attempt, I feel the realisation of what I was doing.
" Ellie. Darling, you are still a little intoxicated. I can smell it your breath. Your thoughts aren't clear enough."
I felt fine. I could've imagined it him saying 'much as I wanted to.' Under his breath. It must've been my conscious that is fooling me.
" Mazikeen manage to sneak into your room, undetected, and got you a pair of new clothes for you to change in. Once you are cleaned, I'll take us over back to the station. The detective had your uncle douche collaborate with one of those wobble misanthropes, to get an answer, for our case. And I know you are eager to catch our bad guy."
Lucifer detangled my entwining arms, from his neck, diligently as if cautious to not hurt me.
I Cooly nodded.
' Right. Work. It wasn't like I forgot about our vigilante killer.'
" Oh. I think it's important of me, to mention a little tiny detail. Ellie." Lucifer called out while he shuffled his way out of his bedroom.
" Leila Simms. Name sounds familiar, doesn't it? She is our killer."
He casually implied.
I damn near in break neck speed look at him jumping in my blacked out jeans.
" Sneaky one, she is. Played us all for fools."
Leila seemed so sweet, when I first interviewed her.
'How did my senses not pick up the energy she is guilty. I'm not in tune with my divine instincts after all. That's great.'
" You could've lead with that, Lucifer. We need to go. Now!"

Leila was a step ahead. She deleted the video confessions, along with traces of her crimes.
' I am starting to get a headache. Can angels even have them? Before I had one and now it's back.' I pinched the bridge of my nose. It was too early in the morning for this.
" Not only did Lelia take down both videos, kill Nick then Adam, she strung us along to give her the best chance to escape, knowing we'd get her. I just don't understand how I didn't see it, Luc."
" because, darling, as a punisher, she's quite a good adepter to avoiding her own medicine. It's quite impressive, really. You weren't to see it."
Lucifer determined. " Don't second guess your work."
Then came a beep on my monitor. I read 'Judgment day' in red writing on the site run by wobble. " Uncle Dan! There's a new hit, on the website. You see this?" I called out.
" Yeah! Don't worry. I'm already working on getting a trace on it."
I quietly search the main web page for links. Something I could've missed. 'For me and wobble. Punishment live in sixty. Oh no.'
" Those people should really be careful how they use that phrase. It isn't actually due for another couple of years." Lucifer says, his head inches from mine moving his eyes over the red letters.
" She's going to kill herself live on the air."
Shocked, with a realisation of her words, I closed a hand on my mouth. " Sure, shes killed those guys but it doesn't mean she needs to all of this. Surely. Right? Luc?" I voiced, turning a few seconds after I started to talk. " Well, Ellie. We are dealing with a person who has tortured with a brutal sense of irony, but killing herself whilst humiliating her company..." It's not her.
" It's not her. Doesn't fit the pattern or MO."
I finished Lucifers implication.
" Of course. How could I have missed it. Sharon! Could you pull the video, of Leila Simms driving, please. I just want to confirm my theory."
Sharon, one of the social media on-lookers that knows the online traffic and knows exactly where to find things, smiled at me before sending a time lapse of the video taken by a security camera.
In an SUV on screen, there was Leila; distressed. ' There it is. A gun.'
It's pixelated to most but with my eyes I made out an outline of a pistol. " What do you see, El? Darling? What is it? Wait." He paused pointing to the gun. " I might be seeing things, I know images can be a little deceiving, but that looks an awful lot like a.."
I breathed out.
" A gun. Yes. And Leila is in danger. We need to get to her before it's too late, Lucifer."

The IP address was a fail, it would continue to ping and misdirect the trace to different parts of wobbles servers. Then we realised she was at wobble itself.
Now Lucifer and I are inside a blue lighted corner server room, dozens of data savers which blinked periodically each second illuminated the path.
" you know. If you take away the Blinky lights and add some lost souls, this place bears a striking resemblance to hell."
Lucifer whispered. I would be curious, as the stereotype of hell i was taught from the bible is considered an endless plain of unearthly fire. I am however focused on getting Leila out alive. Indistinct voices came from up ahead, I draw a line of fire and was readying myself to shoot.
" My name is leila Simms. I'm one of the Co- founders of wobble." It sounds like she has a script she's reading from. Lucifer, understanding my cue to be more careful with how he stepped, followed me.
" I want to apologies to anyone who's.. who is watching for creating a forum where evil and hate sought a refuge." Oh my gosh, is all I can think of saying mentally, at the set up. Leila is stood in a hexagonal positioned centre, where a gasoline canister was at her feet.
I presumed she is live on Wobble.
" and tonight I go down with the ship, right alongside all of those awful sins that I helped give a voice to. Please.. don't make me do this. Please. Please."
Be aware, he is here. He is here. Be careful.
" it's Ray. The HR rep. Of course. He killed 'em all." I said, though in a lower tone to not alert Ray. " Goodness me I should've known. He has halitosis. First sign of evil."
The yellow wires of a mainframe were beginning to agitate me. My reflection is caught in the silver parts and I see my eyes were shimmering. Bright white.
" He had all the access he needed. From files, those videos, and now to framing leila for it." I stated, and I witness Lelia dousing herself in the whole bottle of gasoline. Ray had his gun, drawn, aimed at her and a lighter intended to ignite the fire on leila. ' I can't shoot him. It'll be bad for her, if I even miss one centimetre.' I listened to Lucifer ask.
" What are you waiting for? Shoot him."
" If he drops that lighter, leila will be good as dead. I can't shoot, Lucifer. Too risky." Lucifer, thinking, pulled he aside behind a monitor. He clapped his hands together noiselessly.
" Okay. Darling. This next part will be Much easier, if you weren't here. I know, that you know, your point of view on me being the devil and all is a little too accepting. I like that part. But to save it, I need to politely ask of you to leave. You... don't need to see this part. Of me, darling, Please."
He stated, which left me a bit worried.
' Why would I be scared of him? That hasn't been the case nor would it be.'
If Lucifer thinks I'll break, under seeing his True nature, he's incorrect.
" I'm not scared of you, Lucifer." I proclaimed softly. " Never will be."
He sighed in response as I gazed up at the overhead level. The breaker switch for the fire repellent and other wires were up there. If I'm able to active those it'll buy us time.
" Whilst you are pondering, Darling, I will go and have a word with our killer. No rush. Stay there." He says, words drowning with sarcasm.
' Good idea.' I whispered " That is a good idea. Do that while I go upstairs. Distract Ray."
I say pointing up to the platform above. I leave him, careful to not tip Ray off to my location and go straight up the galvanised line path up to the next level. " I hate to, uh, blow up your spot, but I have a question to ask you before you complete this twisted little mise en scene."
Lucifer queried ray, I reached the latched and sealed box. ' Needs a code. Why would there be a code for a fail safe box?' There was no time. I tore off the compartment cover, using silence.
' There it is. Not yet, Ellie. Wait for Lucifer and his signal.' I crept to the rails. " Stay back or I swear, I will drop this and she's dead." Ray still has the fire lighted. He was sweating.
" Of course. There's the halitosis. It travels, doesn't it. You should really get that looked at." Lucifer says, commenting on Rays oral hygiene.
' This is not the right time to say he has bad breath. Luc.' I thought, barely shaking my head at his habit of badly timed jokes.
" but first indulge me this one simple query. Why? Why are you a punisher? Cause I understand the longing for justice, quite all too well to be fair here, or the joy of sweet revenge. I've had my share of longing, and soughing out the best of the best when it comes to punishing killers. I had one take someone dear from me. He was almost successful in his endeavours."
Lucifer admits.
' He's talking about me. When I was taken by Malcolm.' I steadied my heart. I wasn't going to allow it to affect my accuracy. I stared down the viewfinder of my gun.
" But... No one is forcing you to do this. Why would you take this upon yourself?"
" I couldn't take it, anymore." Ray finally admits. " all that evil was constantly spreading. I had to do something. Anything."
He said, his voice wavering under intense stressful emotion and I caught Leila's eyes signalling to her not to say anything.
" I had to punish them. I had to. You punished those that took the person, you speak about, right? Punishment is always the answer for no good deeds. I did mine. I did it." Ray confesses, sniffling. His hand shakes.
I follow Lucifer using my gun when he stalked forward.
" You didn't have to do anything. You wanted to punish them. Yes, it started with nick, that was impulsive, but then you got a taste for blood and it felt good, didn't it?"
Ray, backing away closing in on a fearful leila, was a good foot closer to where I stood. I had him. " I was doing my part." Ray stammered.
I put my finger on the trigger.
" You had plans to go on a vengeance quest, until we came nipping at your heels. You see, Ray. There is a difference when it comes to you and me. My punishment was justifiable in all sense, yours was you merely playing vigilante. All the while dragging poor Leila with you. And then what? You'd stop? Get away Scot free?"
Lucifer's words were getting more intense, raw and louder. He laughed, ironically.
" we both know you can't stop. Because you Love it. Just like the people you punished."
I switched my focus on ray when he fell silent. Taking in the words Lucifer said.
" I do. I like seeing them all beg for forgiveness." Ray stated, plainly. As if it was all coming to him at once. " See. You have become part of the problem, Ray. Someone deserving of punishment." Lucifer proclaimed, his face considerably darkened wanting to seek out his right to punish Ray.
" You're right. We all do."
I use the resources around me, leaping to the fuse box where I broke off the handle and door, pulling the yellow switch making sure it worked hearing Ray drop the lighter. It does.
Fire alarms blare, which is connected to local station so there would be back up on the way. I heard a sound of a fist striking a face and seen Lucifer knock out Ray.
" That was a Emmy- worthy nominated speech there, Lucifer. I liked it." I called out, lightly grinning at his retardant covered body. He was displeased, dusting off the best he could.
" Any thing for you, darling. You could say I look quite extinguished."
I laughed at his joke. ' Typical.' Though I could not shake the part, where he mentioned how I was abducted. ' did he... do something?'
" Now, let's get you untied."

I knew it was late in the evening for a visit to the graveyard, not ideal I know, I wanted to see Malcolm's grave. It's in a patch of unkept, old, land next to a dumpster. Melissa paid for the site considering it was 'Private'.
This was a decision I had made which Lucifer and I would be in a disagreement about. But I chose to come here as Closure.
I come upon an owl, hooting on a headstone, its watchful eyes follow me.
As though monitoring my moves I made.
Malcolm's grave was a sight to behold, a Barron waste of land littered with dead leaves. Almost symbolic for who he was, when he was Alive. A rotten, miserable, man. I knelt on the dirt floor.
" I don't even know where to start."
I said, glaring at the ground. Head swirling with all the thoughts that wanted to be freed.
" I would be lying if I said I missed you. I don't, that is the thing, Malcolm. Maybe I do miss the part of you where you were supposed to be my dad. A protector, not the first man to break me and my heart. That is all."
I slowly arise off the dusty, dry, patch of dead grass. Clenching my fist.
" How could you do it, to me? How could you hurt your own child?"
I raised my head to stare at the forming clouds.
I prayed to god, if he could hear me, to make me feel stronger.
Because even though being the Angel I am, I feel weakened than ever before.
" You are buried. But, I know where you are. In the farthest part and corner of hell. You took my innocence, Malcolm. For that I will forever Hate you. You.. you.." Out of impulse, I knocked the headstone thrusting my leg out. I watched as it dissipated into pieces. From how hard I kicked.
I impelled my fist in his grave and released a scream filled with pain, Misery, I had pent up for all of this time. Not caring if I am caught.
" I hate you! How could you? How could you do that to me. I was your daughter!"
I sobbed, hysterically, pounding my fist against the graveyard earth.
" Enough. Enough. Hey, hey. Elisabetta."
I'm shoved into a chest and I hit the known persons chest. Looking at how I left a rubble pile of destruction. " You are safe."
I cried into Amenadiel's arm. Weeping for the girl I used to be.
" Don't leave me, Amenadiel."
" Never."
JASMINE SPEAKS;
That was heartbreaking to write for me.
How I wrote her break down was a little too personal, to be honest, but I thought it would fit how she feels.
How did you feel seeing amenadiel come to her?
I thought it was a good idea, he's still considered her Guardian Angel even if they're not on good terms.
And her and Lucy's moment?
She doesn't deserve this pain.
What did you think of this chapter? Tell me.
