The fire department and bomb squad were called in to handle Debra McCall's ablaze car. I hadn't stopped the contemplation of how that explosion could have gone completely different if Aidan didn't forewarn it happening. Lucifer's first instinct to act as a shield, of protection, and use his own body to cover me. My restless leg bouncing ceases when I see Aidan, in a crowd of onlooking bystanders from my spot.
Firefighters extinguishing flames from Debra's Range Rover burn in intensity. Mom is discussing who could have been responsible, for the effort and attempt of murdering Debra.
" Ellie! There you are. I came straight here, after you called. Are you okay? You weren't injured at all? Is that... blood I smell?" Blood? I am not bleeding? I felt for external injures on my body, I couldn't feel, then I wince out of an instant pain mildly lulling in my torso. Aidan, using a subtlety to not draw eyes to me, start's lifting my peach pink blouse.
" W..What are y.. you doing, aid.." I stuttered, but I feel winded as I speak. 'I don't feel right. Why am in pain?'
My hand massages the place of my stomach. Aidan is in visible distress, you could see anger rising in his face bubbling below his collected face and posterior. " that blast, it caused a fracture to your sternum, Ellie. It knocked you, to your feet, which the pressure of the after shock caused. You need to be seen by a medic."
His condemnation of concern for me, and my health, made my heart grow fonder with warm feelings of gratitude. I voice my recognition for Aidans worries. " Thank you, Aid. I will be fine, however. It's nothing time won't heal and bed rest. Even then I'll still be able to deal with it."
I could manage a minor contusion growing, it wasn't all bad. Aidan's, however, insistence on me being seen to had me sighing, breathing out air from my nose. 'He won't let it go. Better listen to him than to leave it alone.' Aidan, and I, go in the direction of where an ambulance is stationed. Debra is sat on a medical stretcher, paramedics are on stand-by waiting incase she has an internal bleeding. Lucifer, interrogating her, takes notice of me coming up with Aidan.
" .. couldn't live with yourself committing murder, so you set your car to explode, didn't you? Eh? Wanted to go out in a blaze of glory?" He prosecutes Debra, motioning one hand of his. " All the meanwhile nearly taking my dear Betty's life, here." My dear betty. Him calling me his 'Dear Betty' had an effect on my body I couldn't identify.
" Wait. No! Of course not! I..I would never. Murder what are you talking.. I'd n..n.." it's obvious she was not the wrong doer here. I didn't want her to have fingers pointed in her face calling her a murderer.
Innocent. A familiar voice whispers around my conscience.
" the bomb was triggered remotely. Whoever set it off did it before you got to the car. There is a clean line of sight, I don't think the plan was to kill you." Mom painted a picture using her words, explaining her theory of who could have done this and their intentions, entering the scene. I wave off assistance from an on-site medic but one look Aidan gives made me sigh, a blood pressure cuff is administered by one of the paramedics.
" I think it was to scare you. So.. you know any reason why someone would want to do that?" Mom questions Debra, while Lucifer stood close enough to me, I could smell his intoxicating and effectual perfume. Aidan had a hand on my bicep.
" Yes. I do wonder. Why did you run? You are awfully guilty-looking."
He points out, devilishly grinning, hopeful he'll get scandalous and salacious information from Debra. " I thought you were going to bust me for violating my restraining order." Poor girl. I thought, to myself. I couldn't relate to being an ex-girlfriend, I do know it must be difficult for her.
" I.. I went to the party last night. But I... I just looked. From outside, through the widow. I couldn't help it! I miss him." Innocent. She's telling the truth. I could sense that from her body language. 'She didn't do it.' Lucifers head tilts, an expression of condescension bored in his eyes at Debra.
" Yes, breaking up's hard, isn't it? You're like two pathetic peas in a pod."
'I think it's cute she would go to lengths for Ty.'
I feel my hand unconsciously hit Lucifer on his left Side to his chest, the same medic from before had left, and Lucifer spared a second of a glance down towards me but I just shook my head.
'He could be more sensitive to her.' Debra got on the defensive. " okay, we are made for each other. J.. Just like I can see how you.. you look at her. That is love right there. I have that with Ty!"
She thrusts out a finger to me then Lucifer, as though to state an obvious certitude piece of information. " that is how good I am at being his girlfriend. Because i DO love him."
Love. I blush a deep pink, flushing a crimson hue, feeling blood rush to the skin of my cheeks. Lucifer jaw is loosened before its back to tightening, absurdity inscribed in his eyes. I calm my ever fast beating heart.
" you mean ex-girlfriend."
Mom corrects, she herself is startled hearing Debra loudly say those words.
" We never stay broken up. It's just a phase. No one looks out for him the way that I do. And I.. then saw him kissing that girl.. I.." I furrow my brows, the same feeling returning I had when I visited Joe Hanson's office in the management agency. Stronger this time. Guilty. Joe Hanson is guilty.
Aidan, rotating his body to stand and cover my viewpoint from Debra, flexes the arm muscles he had his tattoo of my birthday peaks out.
" I understand you have questions. I will be willing to share those answers but not here. I can't say.. what i need to." He made a noise, in hope of understanding his indication, pointing his head towards Lucifer.
'I wonder why he can't tell me, what he needs to say, here. It Couldn't be possible Lucifer is involve, sure enough .'
I rummage my thoughts, to think of a clue for reasonable rationalisation for his nervous state and behaviour, Nothing. I couldn't conjure one single explanation.
My day is getting stranger and stranger.

Venice beach is a sight for tourists and locals. I preferably enjoy taking long, mindless, walks to clear my head of every trouble I had in my personal life. Vendors selling steaming piles of hot dogs, cold beverages for those living in the heat California offered.
Caws of seagulls sound just as I paid for Ana's ice cream cone. Patches of mustard blotches Aidan's mouth, which I do a giggle at.
" You have.. mustard there."
I point out, showing a space on my own and he groans using his fist to wipe it off.
" Mommy! Mommy! Look! A 'Gull! Caw. Caw."
Ana imitates the seagull, she is mindful of her ice cream rotating her arms to copy the motion of wings flapping, laughing. I chuckle, with joy, hearing her child-like innocence shining in her words.
" Do you believe in the conceptual idea of time travel? I need to know, in order for this to make any sense to you than it will for me."
My eyebrows move automatically up, at account of Aidan's claim. Time travel? It wasn't ridiculous to me, to think of an ideology there is more out in the world. Anything is possible. " Yeah. I do. Why is that, Aid?"
I ponder, Anastasia hand is swinging mine, Aidan kept a steady motion as we walked the boardwalk to the pier. Restless waves splashing, on the sandbank, resound as I wait for Aidan to answer. " Well. What if.. if I said Ana, and I.. Ana, and I, we are from there. The future. That we travelled to this time, in your present. But it's also your past. I know it must be hard to think any of this, to be real."
My eyes begin browsing Aidans expression for a detection of lie, or deception. Ingenuity lies in his eyes and I couldn't help but feel there to be the truth that lies in his face. I knit both of my brows, etching both to form a frown, when Aidan became visibly upset. Tears forming in his eye ducts.
" What is making you sad? Aid?" I wipe off the lone straying tear. " tell me." My voice is delicate. Wind gusts gathers speed and I shield my face from it.
" the reason for all those time Ana has called you Mommy, when you think she is just a little girl confused of your identity. Your birthday tattooed on my arm is because.. I'm your son, Mom. I'm your, well future, child."
My hand virtually, and almost, drops taken by surprise. My son. Ana being my daughter. 'That is not..' I felt Anastasia using force to grab a hold of my cardigan. I reluctantly breathe out an ounce of air, lifting Ana and place her on my hip bone. I reflect back on the first time Ana called me her Mommy.
'She does have my eyes. My hair. Oh.'
" Hi, Mommy." Ana laughs, as the wind blew her hair, resting and nestled her head against my skin. 'This is all so surreal.' Then I realised.
'Who is their father? Babies are made from two people having sex, which is stating the perceptible, but thinking about it. I had sex?! With who?' Face flushing, bashfully, I remove the subject topic entirely out of my over active imagination.
'Now I cannot fight off thinking of Who I slept with. Who is the father to my children? What am I even saying?.'
" You alright there, Mo- I mean, Ellie. You 'k?"
Asks Aidan, tone indicating he is regretting his choice to tell me of who he is. " I am alright. It's.. it's just in my heart I can feel, and sense, your words are the truth. My brain's running a hundred miles a second thinking all of this to be a lie. But I know. I just know you are here and real. You are real. Standing here. My Son. Ana. You're both so real."
Genuinely the right reaction, and response, to this information would be to think this is an absolute nonsensical lie. Stupidity.
However there is a quote; phrase. There is a fast presence of familiarity that lies, bears, an eternal fruit which shelters life's greatest pain in a mother's knowing of her children. Because a mom is the one who knew her kids the best.
I believed Aidan. I believe my son.
" That is great. Now I don't have to keep up the whole charade epidemic, of this whole calling you Ellie thing, 'Cause that was getting old real quick for my liking."
Aidan jested, his whole chest convoluting moves when he laughs. Glad he could feel comforted, knowing now he could be open with me, I copied his actions with my own.
" Just don't say Mom 'round other people. Like Ana does. We are basically the same age, here."

I would be joining mom and Uncle Dan for an undercover sting operation in Lucifer's night club L.U.X. It wasn't an appropriate location, or Venue, for an eighteen year old girl like my self but I would not be consuming alcohol and focusing on handling tonight's assignment. To catch a Hollywood fixer named 'Ronnie'.
She's hired to solve problems, of the people sort, in a creative fashion. Dad mentioned her notoriety for lawyering up each time he tried to build an argument and case on her.
'Okay. This dress is just a little Tight. God knows how Lucifer got a hold of this dress. It's ridiculously short.'
I was given an discarded royal blue, revealing, polyester short dress from one of Lucifers many one night stands leaving it behind. It reaches the middle part and section of my thighs. 'I'm way out of my comfort zone. With this on.' I start adjusting both my bra straps. The bar stool, I sat on, swivels around and I'm faced with a rather startlingly sight of a woman inches from my face. Her dark gaze, calculated and disdainful. It matches her attire of leather. Hair raven, blacker than a ravens feather.
" Hi. T..There."
I needed to work on how I spoke. My self-confidence is non-existing.
" You must be Betty. I've heard Lucifer talk a bit 'bout you. Now I can see why he has his fascination, for you. The name is Maze. I don't let just anyone call me it, though. But I have a good feeling you and i... we are going to get along just fine." Maze says, an imperturbable flicker of her face poises a smirk on her melanin glossed lips. " quite the beauty, you have there, for a human girl."
Demon. Undead.
This voice in my subconscious bewilders, and confuses, me deeper each day it speaks to me. I take no notice of the voice getting prominent, by the second, ignoring it on purpose as Maze pours a shot out of a selected alcohol glass bottle. " Here. This one is on me. Take this as a sigil, for my approval. I purposefully ignore the legal implication of age restriction, for when a girl can have her first drink, so here. Drink up. Looks like you'll need it for tonight."
Maze says using a suggestive wink gesture. 'Mom and D...dad won't know. The cameras are on Lucifer.' I pinch two fingers on my shot glass, feeling how alcohol burns potentially in my throat.
I begin to cough from how it left a bitter aftertaste and smell. " There you go. You kept it down, humans would have vomited that right back up. For their first time drinking."
Maze, applauding, claims throwing her head back in a laugh. My face twisting in a grimace. 'I am going to be in real, bit, trouble with Mom and Dad.'
Considering how illegal under-age drinking is, I was breaking a law which could have me seriously scolded, punished for.
" You let her go. What happened to the plan?"
Uncle Dan. 'Crap. The sting. Is it over. I should have stayed focused on the job at hand. Rather than drinking my first shot.' I stand From my seat, I move through bodies of men, and the women, who all dance gyrating their pelvis on another in an indecent position. 'I should have worn a nice top and Jeans. I'm starting to feel.. to feel bare. I knew this would be a bad idea.' I covered my revealed chest using my arms.
" I made a better one. Oh Deary me, what do we have here. You look rather ravishing in that dress. It looks too good on you, Betty. Darling. What is the matter? Dar.. blimey. These men in here disgust me. Hold on. Here hold this for me, detective douche."
Lucifer, offhandedly, hands his engraved 'LM' whiskey glass to my dad. Removing his cuff-links, I feel Lucifer use a swift motion of his fingers and casually threw his blazer around my exposed arms, while an eerily calm glare boils on his face.
'He's saved my dignity. What a gentleman. His jacket feels comforting, smells lovely as well.' I turn my head to slightly sniff his blazer.
" Yeah. Lucifer. Why did you.. why did you give my daughter such.. a small dress? I don't even wanna know the number and kind of STD's it has on it." Mom says, glaring daggers to any men who were wanting to have a good stare at me. Which directed their gazes away quick.
I can feel that one shot of, now I assume, to be whiskey settling in.

Joe Hanson's voice is heard, down the halls of the management offices. I anticipated the arrests of Mr. Hansons and entering inside a meeting room of offical's, on Ty's legal team, I notice enlarge photos on slideshows of Ty.
" I am proud to announce this is a turning point. Ty Huntley. Re-branded!"
Lucifer deliberately did mock claps, each slow. Derivative. Ty, Joe, and executives in the board room face Lucifer.
" Rebranded. Does it come with a new scent? Free toy inside?" He, contemptuously, said in a way it sounded rhetorical. " What do you want. Ty is free on bail." Joe, scornfully, asks. I'm the first to speak up. Gaining courage to talk.
" Ty needs to be brought down to the station. I think it's best if we do all of this, discreet, so no reporter gets a new story. Mr Hanson." I lifted ty out of his rather nice leather seat, glancing at Lucifer and mom.
" Joe? What is this? What is going on?" Ty, uncertainty lacing his voice, exclaims. " Oh, Come on! This is ridiculous. Ty wouldn't hurt nobody. What about Debra? I told you to look into her. She's the crazy one." Mr. Hanson snaps, exasperated. I held together an eye roll. Mom ordered Ty to be handcuffed, showing a subtle nod for my first arrest. 'I'm an intern arresting people. I'm moving up in ranks. Soon I will be with Mom.'
I thought, rather prideful of my first 'arrest.' It is a decoy for Joe to confess, I'm not certain it'll count. " Yes, well, I thought it was all along I mean, the woman certainly redefines all the points and term for intensity."
Lucifer says, he looks to where I am standing, dragging his feet and uses his leaner masculine physique to hide me out of Joes glaring sight.
" but the thing is.. Debra was home with a friend, the night when the murder took place." Mom diluted details of where she was that night.
" What!? She's lying."
Joe said, grinding his teeth, his simmering anger replacing any charm left for show.
" There's no evidence which places Debra at the party. No one saw her. So, are you ready to face the cameras, Ty?" Mom instructs the officers, which came here to assist taking Joe away, to bring Ty out. Lucifer grins.
" His sponsors will love the free publicity. just know the press'll eat this all up. Tell me, what is ten percent of nothing? Hmm."
I began walking to exit out of the board room, disappointed I couldn't see Joe being arrested. Guilty. Guilty. Joe stops us from taking in Ty, speaking up.
" Okay. I went by the party! But I never made it inside. A work call came up. I didn't say any thing before, because I told my wife I was working late. When I was driving away, I saw Debra outside of Ty's window."
The voice got a whole heap louder. I couldn't make out exactly the words it was intending to deliver, convey, to me.
My face grew more apprehensive.
" So.. you admit you were there that night."
Mom, wanting to confirm Joes confession, stated. I'm certain If looks could send someone six feet under ground mom did justice to it. My eyes shift around the space. An energy change shifting the air. " Yeah. So, Debra was there too. That's the proof you need, right?" Joe retracts him being present, the night of Ali's murder, on Debra. " yeah. But we have a sworn statement from Ronnie Hillman. Saying you hired the victim, to make a sex tape with Ty, to blackmail him. I just needed to place you at the scene." Mom concluded eyes narrowed on him.
" It's hard to keep track of who knows what."
Lucifer, mordant and sarcastic, states. Disgust on his face.
" I only wanted what is best for you. Ty."
Joe excuses his plan behind using an empty promise, of wanting to do best for him. I tsk.
" I don't understand, why my own agent would want to blackmail me?" Ty asks, clueless on joes intentions. I sigh, patting his arm.
" He thought.. you would, eventually, have made the choice to leave him." I explained.ย ย
" What? Because I took one meeting with another agency? Joe. I only did that to make d..Debra happy." Ty said, staring with disbelief Joe would think low enough of him leaving.
" He knew you'd get back together, deciding he should strike first, get some leverage." Lucifer says joes thoughts. Reading him from how he stares, caught in the headlights of reality. He's busted. " If he left me, I would be ruined. I mean do you understand? He is my Brady. My Manning." A perceptible, acute, alarm bell is murmuring in my ear. It was the same feeling I had when I stopped Rebecca's wrist and hand.
" But Ali .. but Ali didn't give you the video. Did she? She saw straight through your facade of lies. She didn't want to go through with it." I spoke up, stepping around Lucifer, which in return he took one step in front.
" You shut up. Dammit! You are just like that bitch, don't know when to shut up that mouth of yours."
There is a disturbing, dangerously low, growl which resounds behind from Lucifer. I could be imaging. but I was wrong. " you watch how you speak, with your tongue, to Betty. I don't much appreciate it. And the girls name is Ali Thornton. You killed her. For what? Greed? Ego?" Lucifers steps are menacing, as he stood in front of my body. Steam and smoke radiates off his back.
" I just wanted her phone. And.. I squeezed too hard. I'm done. Forget this, I'm out of here."
Joe, attempting to move past him, is all of a sudden thrown at great lengths from Lucifer simply thrusting a hand out. Sending Mr. Hanson in the air. Glass shattering, with a collective of incredulous gasps, made both of my pupils increase to a proportionate degree.
" Did I squeeze too hard? For your liking?"
Lucifer spat, his voice in a darkened timbre, as he starts stalking forward to cause more harm to Mr. Hanson. " Lucifer. L..Lucifer. H.. Hey. I know he has done bad, he's done a horrible C.. crime. But I need you to stop. Stop." I get in the middle of his visual perspective, and sight, bringing my hands to chest. 'He's hot. Does he have a fever.' His eyes were centred on Mr. Hanson. Wanting to cause more harm.
" I'm finally focusing my anger on a man well deserved. Move. I don't want to hurt you."
My first thought is to get full in to his view. Which I do, my right hand fighting the urge to hold his face. " You won't. You won't hurt me. I'm right here, Lucifer. Please don't do this." I plead, his arrest for killing Joe would not be a good thing. Breaking his hyper-focus on Joe, Lucifer gazes in my eyes and I inhale sharp to his intense stare softening straight away. As I felt glass crunch under the weight of my feet, I puff out a relieved breath. 'That could've gone worst than it did already.'
I didn't release him. " Yes, Of course." He chuckles, perturbed.
" it's your turn, Detective. Take this man away!".
'Lucifers mood changed too quick with my intervention. It's like when I touched him he calmed right down. It.. it was amazing how flung Joe, that far, in a quick second.'
JASMINE SPEAKS;
The beauty calmed her beast. I had to add in this part, because it for real shows how much trust betty has in Lucifer. Him basically saying to Betty 'move out of his way.'
How he did not wish to hurt her because of how angry he is. I love that specific scene in the show. Chloe had her special touch all along, and Lucifer all but just listens to her.
First season Deckerstar imo had the best chemistry even before they knew.
What did you think of Betty being there to stop Lucifer from causing more harm to Joe? Her in L.U.X meeting Mazikeen for the first time? She is going to be an important person to Betty in the coming seasons. Her best friend for intents and purposes, you can say.
