Fourteen

Gurneys transporting fallen bodies of the Latin king gangsters, police car air-horn sirens wail blue and red, followed in my track as I crack a few of my knuckles. Looking at the imprint of Dani's nose on my hand, from a sucker-punch I did to knock her out, my ears pick up hasted feet and clicking of heels.

" Are you okay, there, El? I shouldn't have left you alone on such a straight on the narrow job like this." Mom spun me around, searching for noticeable signs of an injury.

" Mom. This was bound to come, Sooner or later. It's part of the job description. I'm fine."

I state, matter-of-fact. Pinning my chest to her body hugging me I smile, unequivocally, and Dad put his hand on my shoulder.

" Care to tell your old man and mom what happened here? Not that I'm proud, I amย  most certainly. It's just.. there are a lot of.. well casualties here." Dad states, obtaining the best he could to ask what went down without being straight forward with his question.

" Well. Well there was... a whole heap of ass kicking. I.. I don't know if you and mom will believe me. If I did tell you the rest." I told dad, siren wails in the back fading as they take Dani in a separate cruiser.

" You can tell us, honey. I will believe you."

Mom states, the entire time I was aware of her still holding me tight.

" What ever it is, I'm sure it can't be bad as what your dad did find in vipers bag." In a zip-lock sealed evidence bag an unidentified gun used as the possible weapon, in Paola Cortez's murder. My eyes re-check the model number.

" Thirty eight caliber. Same one fired at Bennys show. Shit."

A guilt-ridden glint gleams in dad's eyes.

" You should know something Honey. I might have spoken to Lucifer, about you, The other day. At Lux. I wanted to be straight-clean with you. I just gotta say I'm sorry for that. I mean, not that it went anywhere or got me the answer I didn't already know he'd give."

'At least he apologised. He's just being a dad.' I couldn't keep up the charade of being mad at him. Mom rubbed my previously injured left shoulder. " Your father is just looking out for you, honey-bee. I agree with him. Lucifer can.. be.. too much to put it light. We do have one thing in common, us Decker women can give a good deal of pain with our punches. Handled it like a pro, baby." She kissed me on the spot of my temple. " Don't embarrass her, Clo."

Dad's words of tease instead inflicted an argument, I moved away from their banter to see Viper had his gaze casted over to me entering the back of a police car.

'There's a detail I'm missing. I just can't pinpoint it. This guy couldn't have done it. Right? He changed.'

I didn't wish to profile him. People turn their lives around all the time, give the benefit of the doubt for him. Lucifer stood near vipers mural of spray-paint, I see his face shift from a blank canvas of conflict to an immediate lopsided grin.

" Now all of this down in the dust, Ellie. I say this deserves a treat of your choice. It will be my shout. while you're with me, you won't need to pay a single penny. So what is on the menu of choice today? Strip poker? I jest you."

'Is he asking me.. on a date? He is for real?'

My immediate thought is he was disingenuous of his motive. He would ask me? Of all people? I failed to see the allure of why he'd ask me.

" Is there something the matter? Darling. Why are you frowning?"

Crap. I should keep in control of the expressions I make. My shoulders shrug.

" I just. I'm just finding it hard to believe you'd ask someone like me. On a date."

" Pray tell with the specifics. What does 'Like you' mean?" He asked face scrunched up with aspects of question.

" I'm no stranger to being asked on a date, then turns out it was a prank. The typical cliche My friend likes you has ran its course."

I told Lucifer, not expecting him to understand. It's the truth. I've grown used to a lot of people, boys a majority, playing games.

I shift my head back in response of Lucifer move to stand closer, Hand on the windshield. That simple change in his body language made my heart thump loud.

" Darling, I'm not those imbecilic human boys. I know how to treat any woman with the right means of respect. Quite frankly I'm a little insulted you'd compare me, and those boys, when I'm all Man. The devil may just cry." He spoke, quiet and rough.

I did see his grin cheekily re-appearing.

" I'm all certain on my choice to bring you out on a Date. I can even bring maze, if that will be more comfortable for you."

'Oh, he's serious. He is serious. How can I say no to him? And that awfully stupid grin of his.'

It was benny Choi who had framed viper for the murder of Paola Cortez. Planting the gun he ordered hector used to fire the kill shot. He had tried to point fingers but eventually I knew there would be implications of foul play intend for it. 'To think I accepted his gift. No thanks. I don't want nothing to do with a murderer.'

My hands wrangle together, eyes glued to the mirror in my bedroom, the news broadcast of tonight's candle ceremony and tribute to Paola on screen. " You look pretty, Mommy. Where are you going?" Ana came in. My old childhood Aurora barbie doll held to her chest. Aidan did a simple look at my choice of clothes.

" Yeah. I am with An on this. You look stunning. Wait! Is this is the night dad takes you on your first date you told us in your stories? Man this was a favourite of mine, and An's too, growing up."

Wait a second. 'Dad...'

" when you say... dad.." It clicks.

" LUCIFER IS THE MAN I SLEEP WITH?"

Lucifer had maze chauffeur to Lux from my house. I didn't understand the reason for maze to be the one driving me, and not him. She had explained Lucifer was diligent in his actions of being vague. Aidan's confession of Lucifer was re-playing in my mind. 'How could I have not put the clues together.' I push that aside to the corner of my conscience, where I couldn't and would not think about it. I cased the landing of the staircase, entering Lux. Every light was on.

In his casual suit Lucifer grinned up at me. My hands gripping the safe-guard railings, the soft whimsical symphony of classical Clair De Lune hummed out of the speakers.

" Didn't take you as a Man to know classics like Debussy. I did picture you as someone who prefers the upbeat music."

I teased, ignoring the flutter my heart did. He flipped his arm out, Blue-tooth remote for the radio, pointed at the electronic device.

" I have all genres, Darling. Devils music, Pop, you name it. Give me your worst." I pretend to think, knowing full well of who I am choosing, lightly doing a tap on my chin.

" The fray. The song can be any of theirs."

He 'Ooh'. " that is a good choice. The fray it is."

There wasn't much of a wait for a song to come on. 'Look after you' base instrumental and piano cords started.

" May I have this dance. If you don't mind."

I gasped, softly. Lucifer ever softly dragging me to the empty dance floor, usually huddled with bodies and predominantly women, made me let escape a little giggle out. " We've already missed the main chorus."

He takes the lead, by encasing one of his arms around my waist. My feet practically hover from his height tower over me.

" I'm not the one for slow dances. that can be made an exception for you, Darling." I couldn't help giggle louder. His voice sounded so proud. " I've seen in a film before. Hold on."

Changing the channels song, Ellie Goulding's 'Love me like you do' started. I 'oh' when he lifted my body, planting my feet on his. " This is the dance scene out of fifty shades of grey."

I state, knowing which minute and second he'd is replicating. 'I shouldn't have said that.' I'm too embarrassed to look at him, as I spun on the spot and back to Lucifers chest. " Well yes. I see you aren't as innocent as you look, Hm."

He said, swaying my arm around. He grins.

" I say. Didn't take you to be the girl to watch such a film, much it be fifty shades of grey."

I turn my torso, my full body the next. I made a split second choice of courage, placing both of my arms around his neck and shoulders.

" I'm not that all unfamiliar with media. I do have a taste for men like Christian Grey. Hot. A good dancer."

Lucifer tips my body on beat to the up tempo of the song. He fakes offence. " You have the real deal here, Darling. Here for the taking. I can dance. Have all those devilish good looks. Rather pleasant, and above satisfactory, in the devils tango department." He tallied off all of his personal aspects he had.

'He's always try to include the sexual element to each talk.'

I can make a list of how many mentions he did. My lips curled in a fun-loving half smile.

" True. I just prefer Jamie Dornan. Specifically for how his Irish accent sounds. It's.. adorable. Sorry to say." I heard him groan. 'Got him.' He tickled my ribs and I elbowed his stomach. My laugh is heard which bounces off the tiles.

Watching Betty, from the sideline behind a grey pillar foundation in Lux, Mazikeen carved an apple tearing off the piece placing it in her mouth. It wasn't a secret no more. Lucifer isn't transparent with how he feels for Elisabetta. It didn't take a genius to figure out. She felted an entire new emotion which she didn't she could feel.

Jealousy.

Not with how careless betty was. Or the way she danced her little human heart out. She is jealous of Lucifer. That completely terrified Maze, it's an unpleasant experience to feel. It happened like sleeping. Slowly then all at once.

An abstraction of an idea she didn't think would be bound to a demon. She was falling for Ellie Decker.

How stupid, Pathetic, is that. A demon that'll be damned for eternity wanting a human. No bad could come out of it.

JASMINE SPEAKS;

Oh no. Maze is falling for Betty. Don't worry, I will write a part of this story where Maze and Betty will have a heart to heart. So there is no miscommunication on their parts. This won't ruin their friendship as the story goes on.

How do you think betty will react?

Lucifer and her's little date?

Aidan and Ana's scene with Ellie??

I love writing Chloe and Dan being parents. I was so upset when he died in season six. It'll be devastating to write Ellie's sadness about her losing the prominent father figure she had.

This is a filler chapter. I wanted to write about their little 'Dance' date.
