I hit refresh, filling out the contest form for the last time tonight. “That’s it…after tonight the WWE picks a winner, either it’s me or it’s not.” I mutter to myself, trying to keep my excitement down obviously millions of people have entered but I couldn’t help but to cross my fingers.

 I awake to my phone ringing loudly on the nightstand beside my bed, “Ugh…not now.” I groan peeking my head out from under my pillow I glare at the clock reading 6am, it was an unknown caller but I decide against hitting the reject button like normal.

“Hello?” I ask in a raspy voice from just waking up, I climb out of bed and walk over to the mirror waiting for a response.

“Is this Ashley Hall?” A deep voice asks almost scaring me,

“Yep.” I say plainly examining my face in the mirror, bleh I need to shower… I think to myself.

“This is Vince McMahon, I’m calling to inform you that you won the ticket’s to Summer Slam this Sunday.” He says almost as though I was annoying him, I roll my eyes at his attitude but jump up and down screaming in his ear!

I walk into the huge arena it was completely empty as I got to come in early to meet whatever Superstars or Divas who already showed up. I stand in the middle of the ring as I look around at all the empty seats I imagine them full of screaming fans as I bounce back and forth in the ropes. My heart starts to race with excitement as I make my own sound effects; I chant my own name and everything.

“What are you doing here, Ashley I presume?” A voice knocks me out of my trance I lose focus and fall through the ropes landing directly on top of the very person that made me fall. Serves him right, I think as I look up at his face slightly embarrassed. My jaw drops,

“You’re….Cody Rhodes…” I choke out still laying on top of him our faces inches apart,

“Actually it’s Cody Runnels but yeah same thing.” He says awkwardly rubbing the back of his neck

“Slightly embarrassing but y- yeah I know that…” I trail off and let out a light giggle of embarrassment, can’t believe I just admitted I Googled him… I think as heat rushes to my cheeks I burry my face in his chest trying to hide.

“That is too cute…” he says in husky voice, leading my face with one finger to look into his, he gives me his dashing smile and my heart skips a beat or two.

“I should probably get off you!” I laugh after breaking the trance between us, knowing if I didn’t I would do something stupid like try to kiss him.

“So you never did tell me what you were doing here.” Cody says extending his hand for me to help him off the floor, after helping him up I simply flash my pass around my neck. “Oh, you won the contest! I thought it was going to be another middle-aged guy, nice to see someone beautiful win for once.” He gives a sly smile with a small wink in my direction.

“Smooth.” I smile giving him a nudge he nods in agreement,

“Let me introduce you to everyone, and don’t worry that moment is our little secret.” He says with a devilish grin, I look away as my cheeks flood into a pink shade once again.

Cody introduced me to literally everyone backstage it was hard not to fan girl when I meant people like Chris Jericho but I think I did rather well. Cody was incredibly funny and I just couldn’t keep my eyes off him there is a reason he is known as “The Dashing One” after all. I look up at him as we walk side by side in a comfortable silence searching for another Superstar but really I just wanted to be with my insides flutter when he looks over at me.

“You know what, if you don’t mind…I would rather keep you to myself tonight.” He almost whispers, for the first time I met him he seems nervous.

“I would love that.” I say biting my bottom lip trying to hide a smile, he takes my hand and leading me to his dressing room.

We talk and talk for what seems like hours, I felt like I was literally in heaven and had the best looking angel interested in me! “Hey, Cody show’s ‘bout to start-“ Randy cuts off when he turns into the doorway and sees my hand in his. “Sorry, didn’t mean to interrupt.” Randy smirks as he backs out the door,

“You should probably go find your seat…” Cody trails off letting go of my hand, I give a slight nod as my heart falls to the pit of my stomach I guess the connection I felt wasn’t mutual. Almost out the door I hear in a low whisper “wait…”

“Yeah?” I ask turning back to him hoping I didn’t forget anything but his heart,

“I know we just met, but…would you mind going out with me on a date after this? I just couldn’t imagine my life without you anymore…” he trails off staring at the ground, tears bead in my eyes but I quickly pull them back as a smile spreads across my face, I fell in love with a “dashing” man.

“I would love to.”
