They say that when it rains it's the tears of angels. Angels that had once been split by unfortunate events but had been reunited by the sheer power of love.

-

Ten years. For ten years Awsten had been able to wake up, knowing that he would be greeted with crystal blue eyes and a loving smile.

But one day he didn't. One day the eyes weren't there. Awsten sat bolt upright and rubbed his eyes.

The bed was cold. Where was Geoff?

"Gee?" Awsten called. He heard scuffling from downstairs and a bang. "Gee?" The small man almost fell out of bed; his sudden weight causing the floorboards to creak.

Another loud bang and a crash.

Awsten crouched down and felt under the bed for the metal bat Geoff kept there; his eyes were locked on the door.

As quietly as possible, he opened the door and stepped onto the landing, wincing as he heard the floor emit squeaky creaks. Taking a deep breath Awsten shot down the stairs and leant against the wall, his eyes squeezed tightly shut.

Edging towards the kitchen door, Awsten peered inside. He breathed a sigh of relief when he saw a familiar face. His relieved expression quickly turned to one of panic and fear as something large and white came hurtling towards his face.

Awsten ducked and dropped the bat, his arms covering his head. Shards of porcelain rained down at him over and over. More plates were thrown at the wall above. They burst into a shower of white above his shaking body.

"What the fuck Geoff?" He yelled, a furious yet concerned look on his face. Awsten crawled away from the broken pieces and towards his husband, grabbing the plate out of his shaking hand.

"Babe calm down, we're not gonna have any plates left." Awsten said. Geoff sighed and dropped his chin to his chest.

"How can I calm down? You're right about the plate thing but it doesn't matter, we're gonna be homeless anyway."

Awsten frowned. "What's going on?"

"I got fucking fired Aws, it's not gonna be ok." The brunette broke and leant against Awsten, sobbing into his shoulder.

"Who did this?" Awsten asked angrily, holding the shaking man tightly.

"Sir Wood." Geoff whispered, afraid to say his name too loudly. Otto Wood. He was the most feared - and richest - man in Houston. He had a shit ton of power and money he didn't need. He abused his power and did bullshit like this.

"He just randomly came in, pointed at random people and fired them. Jawn, Ciara, Andy and Patty got fired too." Geoff continued, his sobs becoming louder and more heart-breaking.

Awsten stroked Geoff's hair reassuringly and clenched his jaw. Otto was going to pay. And Awsten knew exactly how.

-

"Do I need to go over the idea again?" The younger asked. Geoff nodded. They were both dressed head to toe in black, backpacks in their right hand and a flashlight in their left.

"Ok. Jawn has already managed to shut down the security cameras and, as he somehow managed to find a job as Sir Wood's assistant, he will also be able to open the gates when we arrive. All we have to do is shoot the tranquilizers through an open window at him and his wife, sneak in, steal some shit and shoot anyone that gets in the way. Then we'll come home, fuck and go to bed. Sound like a plan?"

Geoff nodded eagerly. "Sounds perfect plum." He said, kissing Awsten softly. "Plum?" Awsten queried, raising an eyebrow.

"You dyed your hair purple, you're my plum." The brunette explained. The purple boy nodded. "Ahh. Ok. Ready to go?"

"Yup." Geoff replied. He swung his bag onto his back and pulled something black out of his pocket; placing it on his head he turned around and smiled at Awsten. "A balaclava? Really Gee?"

His husband nodded. "Yup, this is my look fight me shorty."

"Call me shorty and you ain't getting this ass bitch boy."

"Call me bitch boy again and I'm sleeping on the sofa." Geoff counteracted with a smirk, folding his arms. "Perfect. If you sleep down here then I get the bed all to myself." Awsten shot back. He too slung his bag onto his shoulder and left the house. Geoff followed after him, locking the door and hurrying outside.

"But won't you miss my warmth and morning cuddles?" Geoff tried to further his cause. Awsten shook his head and tossed the car keys over his head. Geoff caught them.

"No. You snore. If I get cold I'll get a blanket and cuddle you in the morning. Stop being so needy." Awsten's tone was final. He hoped Geoff understood. Thankfully for Awsten, he did.

-

Two hours later and both men were standing outside Sir Wood's large house.

His wife stood in front of the window, preening herself in what Geoff presumed was a mirror. Awsten had assured him that Jawn had shut everything down; Geoff had seen the messages as proof.

Awsten sighed and looked up from his phone, spotting Mrs Woo- Grace through the window.

The purple boy missed her a little. He remembered high school fondly. He, Geoff and Otto were all best friends along with Grace yet it all ended once Grace left Awsten for Otto.

That wasn't even the worst part. Most of the pain came from the fact Otto abandoned them when he and Grace got together. His heart still ached whenever the memories decided to re enter his damaged brain.

"Hey, you good?" The brunette asked, dragging Awsten out of his thoughts. "Yeah I'm good." Awsten replied, pulling the dart gun out of his bag.

"Pick up that rock and throw it." Awsten demanded through squinted eyes, pointing vaguely off to somewhere near Geoff. The brunette bent over and picked up the largest one he could find.

It felt rough and heavy in his hand yet the pressure was soon lifted as he pulled his arm back and flung it at the house. The rock hurtled towards the glass, shattering it upon impact.

"Nice shot babe." Geoff grinned at the compliment, accepting the kiss from the plum boy.

They waited patiently until they heard a loud squeal. "Nailed it." Awsten said in a sing song voice. "Otto!" Grace yelled. Her hands shook.

The door burst open and he ran through, his hair flying behind him. "What's wrong?"

She pointed to the rock - positioned in the middle of her beautiful Persian rug - surrounded by a sea of glass. "Someone just tried to kill me!" She cried. Otto held her closely and kissed her cheek.

"It's ok darling. I've called the cops and they shall be here shortly." Grace's cries lessened as Otto let go. He walked over to the glass and crouched down beside it.

He knew whoever threw it may potentially still be outside but curiosity got the better of him. Cautiously he made his way over to the window and peered through the empty hole.

Awsten saw his chance and smiled. He waved at his former best friend and brought the gun up in line with his eye.

Realisation smacked him in the face and he ducked. He was too late. The dart hit him right between the eyes and in seconds he was down. It didn't take long for Grace to scurry over to him and, in a similar way, she dropped down too.

"Go, go, go." The smaller boy yelled, ushering his husband towards the house. "We're not in an action movie plum, chill." Geoff laughed.

Awsten frowned. "Stop ruining my dreams Gee."

"They're shit and not actually happening!" Geoff protested. "You're definitely sleeping on the sofa." Awsten shouted over his shoulder as he ran towards the window.

Geoff followed closely behind, eager to see how it was done. Awsten had a history of crime before but stopped when Geoff asked him to. He had always done it when they were low on money but then Geoff got a great job and Awsten had nothing to do. He was definitely loving the adrenaline rush.

They reached the window - if you can call it that - and clambered through, careful to avoid sharp edges.

Both men were stopped in their tracks. The room was full of valuables. "Get it all." Awsten whispered before heading to one wall.

Geoff nodded slowly, trying to take it all in. They both unzipped their bags and shoved anything they could find in.

Geoff finally crammed in as much shit as possible and swung his bag onto his back. Awsten turned around and grinned. "Now you're getting it." He was about to connect their lips but blaring siren disrupted them.

The purple boys eyes widened. "Shit." He muttered. He glared at the unconscious Otto. "This is all your fault!" He yelled.

"Aws, he can't hear you. Calm down." His husband gently stroked his hair. "I don't know what to do." Awsten confessed. In all his years he'd gotten away with it perfectly. He had a few close calls but nothing this close. Luckily the brunette had a lightbulb moment.

"The window!" Geoff yelled. Awsten zipped up the bag and threw both his and Geoff's out before throwing himself out after him.

The brunette inhaled deeply and swandived straight out after him. The hole wasn't big enough. A large shard of glass produted out of the wooden frame and embedded itself in his stomach as he jumped.

Landing with a cry, Geoff pressed both hands to the wound, eyes squeezed tightly shut. Awsten was by his side in a flash, one arm around his waist.

"Ok baby we have to get out of here."

"I can't fucking walk Awsten!" Geoff yelled. Two armed officers jumped out of their vehicles and raised their weapons.

Geoff grimaced and growled. With a sickening crunch, he grabbed the glass and yanked it out. A fountain of blood spurted out, covering both him and Awsten in crimson.

"Gee what are you doing?" Awsten screeched. "They'll never take us alive. We go down together or we don't go down at all." With one throw, Geoff hurled it at the officers.

Two bangs. Geoff went down dragging Awsten with him. "No, no baby stay with me." Awsten pleaded. Geoff shook his head and coughed; blood trickled out the corner of his mouth.

"I love you plum." Geoff whispered with a weak smile. Tears dripped from Awsten's cheeks. "Don't leave me."

"I'm not going anywhere." The brunette promised. He exhaled softly. Awsten could only watch as the light faded from his blue irises.

With a final sob and one more bang, the bullet buried itself in Awsten's back puncturing a lung. He slumped forward onto Geoff's still body. There the lovers stayed, together forever.

-

"Hey Otto, how you feeling?" He opened his eyes to Grace leant over him. He groaned and rubbed his head. "Aching."

"Well that is to be expected. They hit us with pretty strong tranquilizers." Grace laughed lightly.

"If I got hit first and woke up last. How is that possible?" He asked.

"I haven't been drinking." Grace said before swiftly exiting the room. "Fair enough." Otto said to an empty room. Wait, empty?

Everything was gone. Well, pretty much everything. "Those faggot." The bushy haired man cursed. He didn't care that he knew them, they had stolen his most prized possessions. But had they taken them all?

Ahh, nice to see you're awake.

Otto stopped. What. The. Fuck.

Did you have a nice nap?

It echoed. He didn't know where it was coming from.

I hope you did. Innocent lives were taken here today. Well, not right here. You see that blood stained patch on the grass?

Otto's legs walked himself to the window. He saw a patch had been flattened and red was surrounding it.

You did that.

The voice said.

You killed them.

Otto closed his eyes and shook his head. It was all just a bad dream. With a shaking hand, Otto turned to the stack of drawers beside the window and opened the second draw. He lifted up a copy of the bible and sighed in relief. They hadn't taken anything.

Reaching out his hand, Otto pulled out the revolver. It was heavy in his palm; he hadn't used it in a while.

Do you think they deserved to die?

"Yes." Sir Wood said out loud.

Really?

The voice mused.

That's very interesting. Why do you think that?

"They broke in and almost killed me and my wife as well as robbing us. Why should they have lived?"

Why should they have died?

"Did you not hear a word I just said?" Otto asked infuriated. He was a grown man talking to himself for God's sake. So why did he feel like he wasn't alone?

Oh I did. I'm just wondering why they should have died. You should have too.

"What do you mean by that?"

You ruined people's lives too. You fired people for no reason. You cut people's pay. You've also cheated on your wife many times but that's another story.

"How dare you! I have never cheated on Grace."

Tell that to all the prostitutes you fucked last week.

The voice taunted him, and told him all his deepest, darkest fears. The voice knew everything.

He couldn't take it anymore.

The cold metal barrel pressed against his temple. Trembling fingers fumbled for the trigger. Otto closed his eyes and inhaled.

His brains were splattered against the white wall and his body had dropped to the floor before he could exhale.

From the corner, a pale man stood with a smile etched onto his ghostly face. Through death had taken all colour from his cheeks and lips, his purple hair was still prominent.
Awsten surveyed the scene in front of him and nodded. Taking three steps towards the fallen man, he knelt down and used his remaining strength to close the dead man's eyes.

A bright light shone down from the ceiling, surrounding him like a halo. Awsten smiled weakly and allowed the beam to lift him up.
Up away from the stentch of iron and blood. Up out of the room and into the warm, comforting arms of his blue eyed angel.

Tears leaked from Awsten's eyes as he reached up to meet Geoff's lips with their own. They weren't tears of sadness no, they were filled with happiness and hope, promise and love.

As their lips interlocked, droplets of salty water dripped onto the cloudy floor.

Down on Earth, it began to rain.

This is the night the young love died, buried at each others side.

You'll never take us alive, we swore that death would do us part so now we haunt you in the dark.

You'll never take us alive we live as ghosts among this streets lovers and partners, partners in crime.
