It's all over, Geoff thought. It's over.

He closed his eyes.

"I don't care Geoff! All I want is to spend some time with my boyfriend is that too much to ask?"

"No of course not but I'm still working. You know I'll always make time for you but just not right then. I can't just drop everything for you." Geoff shouted after him.

"It sounds like you're just making excuses. If you don't want to spend time with me then don't! I don't care anymore." Awsten stopped on the sidewalk facing away from his boyfriend. Rain poured from the heavens, landing on the two quarelling lovers. "Just come back inside. Please baby it's cold and raining, we can talk about this!" Geoff tried to plead with his partner but to no avail.

"No. We can't just kiss and make up. Not this time. I'm sorry Geoff but it's over. This relationship is toxic for both of us and it's better if we were apart." Finally Awsten turned to face his, now, ex boyfriend while he uttered the words neither of them ever wanted to hear.

"Better for us or better for you Awsten?" The brunette questioned, tired of his ex's lies. Awsten remained silent. "That's what I thought."

"Goodbye Geoff." Awsten replied. Geoff turned around and pulled out his phone, fingers hovering over the keyboard. He heard Awsten's footsteps gradually grow quieter and as the first tear fell, he hit send.

Geoff: just do it.

The rain fell harder, Awsten dropped to the ground. The ringing sound of a gunshot quietened. Crimson mixed with purple dye, both colours dulled by grey skies and puddles. Puddles of rain, tears, blood and regret.

In that street lay a body and the shattered remains of a once beautiful relationship.

It's all over now.

Geoff opened his eyes. The coffin was lowered and covered. Awsten was gone.

"What are you doing here?" Geoff turned to see the sneering face of his ex best friend. "Imma have my fucking cake and eat yours too." Geoff replied, taking a bite out of his chocolate cake. Who the fuck has cake at a funeral? What's the point in a wake? Hey guys, they're dead party time!

"What are you doing here?"

"I'm here to say goodbye to my friend." Otto said. "You shouldn't be here. You don't deserve to be here. All you've done is cause Awsten heartbreak and misery. He fucking killed himself because of you, you asshole!"

"Woah calm down, don't bite my head off," Geoff put his cake down and held up his hands in surrender, "Awsten ended it anyway. Why he took his own life I will never know but it was NOT my fault." Geoff remembered handing the wad of dollars over to Jawn after he'd placed the gun in Awsten's hand. Jawn gave half of it back as he was doing a favour to his friend. Everyone thought Awsten shot himself and were clearly to distressed to ask themselves why he'd done it in the middle of the street. People work in mysterious ways.

"Just leave. Awsten wouldn't want you here." Otto told him. "Fine, the cake's shit anyway." Geoff scoffed, pushing past Otto and ignoring everyone's judging and questioning looks.

Before he left he managed to sneak over to Awsten's new home. Geoff kneeled down next to the mound of dirt and placed his left hand on it.

"Hey Aws. I'm sorry it ended this way. If you were still here we could've started again. I wish you had just listened to me God that's just like you, never one to take orders." He laughed and wiped his eyes with the back of his right hand. "I love you. God I love you so fucking much and it hurts everyday because you're not here. They're all judging me. They don't understand that I did this for us! You don't understand that I did this for us!"

He reached into his jacket and pulled out a knife. "Here's to you baby. I would go through all this pain for you but you won't do the same. Luckily you don't have to." He placed the knife down next to him and unfastened the chain around his neck. A simple gold band dangled from it. Geoff pushed his finger through the metal, making it land on top of his own.

"When I gave you this I gave you a promise, hence why it's called a promise ring. I stand by that promise. I always will."

For the first time since Awsten's death, Geoff cried. He raised the knife to his jugular with trembling fingers letting his tears coat his cold cheeks. "Here's to us."

Geoff's body fell like an anchor. Awsten was his anchor but he wasn't there to save him.

Crimson mixed with purple dye, both colours dulled by grey skies and puddles. Puddles of rain, tears, blood and regret.

But this time there was no purple dye, only blood, tears, regret and a body. A hand rested on the dirt, gold mingling with the brown mud. Both souls at rest and for the first time in three months they were together living their eternal happily every after.

A/N hiii ok so I know people don't normally read the lyrics that people put in but I just wanna say that if you haven't read them or heard the song before then please do because, apart from the fact it's a good song, it relates to the situation.
