I Faked That Smile

Chapter Twenty-three

Damon and I named the baby, Lee Damon Marz. We both agreed on the name without any hesitation. As both of us are really missing Cherelle and Lee. This was our way of letting them know how much we love them. Because I know one day, they will find out the truth. I’m just hoping they will not hate us for what we did. As I don’t think, I would be able to cope if I lost them forever. Knowing their safe is the only thing that has me keeping me from telling them.

I’ve called Cherelle a couple of times just so I could hear her voice on her voicemail. Damon doesn’t know this. Because if he found out he would more than likely kill me. I always made sure to withhold my number though. Just encase. As I didn’t want to cause any trouble for them. Even though we were only recently informed of their well-being. I still worried. Hearing her voice though just seemed to put my mind at ease. It made me feel she was still with me in away.

I’ve been stuck in the hospital for five days now and I’m dying to go home. I’m missing Destiny and Damon so much too. I know I get to see them everyday. However, it’s not the same. I just want to be snuggled up on the couch with them. Even if was only to watch some silly children’s channel.

Damon has had to ring me every night so I can read Destiny her bedtime story. Other wise she won’t sleep for him. It made me feel so special, although it was starting to drive Damon mad. As he would have to hold the phone to her ear until she fell asleep. Ha.   I couldn’t help but laugh when he used to moan about his arm going dead.

The nurse had just informed me. That the doctor had just started doing his rounds. Feeling excited as well as a little anxious. I sat in my room waiting impatiently.

A couple of hours later the doctor walked into my room. Feeing anxious I started playing with my hands. I just wanted to bring our baby home today. Destiny is really starting to miss us so much. That I didn’t want to spend another day away from her.

“Afternoon Sheena” Dr Long greeted me. “Afternoon” I greeted nervously. “Well everything is looking great here. I think you should be able to go home today.” He said. While reading over the nurse’s notes. Not been able to contain my excitement I screamed. ”YES!” Seeing him staring at me with a big smirk. I suddenly felt embarrassed. “Well I think someone’s happy.” He said laughing. Even though I knew, I was probably blushing like a tomato right now. I didn’t care. We were going home!

The Doctor was only with me for a matter of minutes. Before he handed me the release forms for me to sign. Knowing I was smiling like some Looney person. I quickly signed the paper work and handed it back to the doctor. Feeling overexcited. I grabbed my phone off the bedside table and pressed Damon’s speed dial. On the second ring, Damon answered. “Hey Sheena.” He started but I cut him off screaming. “Damon pick me and your son up. We’re coming home.” I screamed. Once managing to stop myself from screaming with excitement. I then heard Damon screaming just as I was only moments ago. “I’m on my way.” He replied

Once Dr Long checked, Lee and me over, he gave us the all clear. He then informed me that we could both go home. I was ecstatic as I quickly called Damon to come and get us. Hearing the excitement in his voice made me even happier. “Destiny mama and Lee are coming home” I heard him shouting out to Destiny. Then hearing her scream made me laugh. “We’re on our way Sheena. Love you.” He said in a rush. Before hanging up. I started packing all my things up into my case. Therefore, I would be ready to leave the minute Damon turns up. As I couldn’t wait to be in the comfort of my own home.

I hadn’t even finished packing when Damon turned up. He was so giddy I couldn’t help but giggle. “Hey is someone excited.” I asked teasingly. Knowing I was acting just as excited as him, I was waiting for his witty come back. However, he never said a word. He just scooped me out of my chair and swung me around before he crashed his lips to mine. Giggling I left out a shocked gasp as his lips touch mine. “WOW” was all I could manage to say as he pulled away. “Mmm so who’s speechless” He teased. Whilst wiggling his eyebrows. Feeling the blush rise to my cheeks, I sunk my face into his chest.

I tightened my arms around his neck. Not wanting him to place me back down yet. “Come on baby lets go home.” He said. As much, I wanted to go home. I wanted to stay in his loving arms as well. Groaning into his chest, I could hear him laughing. “I promise the minute we get home I will give you loads of cuddles and maybe more.” He said his voice husky. “Let’s go then quick.” I said as I started to push myself out the door. Damon’s laughter bounced of the bare corridor walls making it echo and louder. “You two keep your noise down there are patients here asleep.” The matron shouted angrily. Seeing Damon looking petrified made me laugh. Feeling naughty, I couldn’t restrain myself. “BYE!” I screamed as I pushed myself through the exit of the ward. Seeing her face turn bright red made me nearly wee myself laughing.

Once Damon strapped Lee’s car seat in. He ran around to help me. Nevertheless, with me being in such a hurry to get out of here. I beat him to it. Laughing as I watched his surprised expression, he began folding my chair. “Come on I shouted excitedly. I couldn’t wait to surprise Destiny. She didn’t know that we were coming home yet and I was dying to see her face when we walked in. “Damon, please go faster.” I pleaded. Giving me a playful stern look, he began “I’m keeping to the speed limit Sheena. I am a law abiding citizen.” Mocking in a posh British accent.  I wanted to laugh but just couldn’t. “Err put your lights on then.” I shouted feeling frustrated. I just wanted to get home to be with my baby.  I could see I was starting to annoy Damon but I just couldn’t help myself. “Please.” I whined, for about the hundredth time. “Sheena please stop whining. You’re starting to sound like Destiny.” He replied. I folded my arms under my chest and sulked. “Your so in my bad books.” I said pouting. Damon began laughing his head off. Then I heard the best sound ever at this moment. I had actually managed to get my way. He turned the sirens on and started to pick up his speed a little. However, I was giggling knowing I still had my touch at getting my own way.  Seeing the smirk on his face I knew he knew exactly what I was thinking which made me laugh even harder. “Yes you win like always.” I heard him mumble. Making me bend over clutching hold of my stomach.

Pulling into our driveway, I took in all the homely features. “Ah home sweet home.” I said. Feeling so happy and content. Damon pulled to a stop and then cut the engine. “Oh baby I’m so happy your home.” He said. Leaning over he began kissing me with so much need that I felt light headed. His kisses always seemed to have this effect on me especially when he puts so much love into it. “Mmm” I moaned still feeling slightly light headed. Then I heard him moan into my mouth, making my body set alit with hunger. I wanted him right now. The kiss became more intense as we started to touch each other’s bodies. Lee started crying making us jump apart. I couldn’t believe we were getting so carried away that I had totally forgotten where we were. Both of us looked at each other laughing. It felt so good to be back home and in his loving arms again.

As we walked through the front door, I could hear Destiny screaming “Dada”. Then as she seen, me holding Lee on my lap she came to a stand still. “Ma ma?” she questioned more than greeted. Giving her the biggest smile ever. “We’re home baby.” I shouted holding out my vacant arm for a hug. “Mama” she screamed again only this time she was running towards me. Leaping into my arms Damon quickly took Lee so he wouldn’t get crushed. I hugged and kissed her over and over again. “Oh baby girl. Mama missed you so much.” I said as I began to kiss and cuddle her more.
