 Chapter Three

I have been looking for Sheena for the past six months and still haven’t found anything; I haven’t even found a lead to go on. Every day I do the same routine; I wake up, get dressed and head off in my car searching for Sheena. I have even employed private investigators from the highest places. I can’t sleep eat or drink through worrying about her and our unborn baby. People keep telling me she’s fine and don’t worry, but that’s so much easier said than done. When I close my eyes at night I see her, miss her I even have nightmares of her out there alone. I know Lee and Cherelle thinks she’s dead, but I know in my heart she’s not; it’s as if I can still feel her. I haven’t told any body this because I know they will just think that I’m losing it, but I’m not. Although I feel empty inside it’s like I can still feel some part of her like a warming feeling. Knowing she is nearly full term with our baby has me going in sane here. As just the thought, of her giving birth without me by her side to support her kills me inside.

Today I am going down the station, as Lee told me he knows whom the mole is. However, he wouldn’t tell me over the phone as he thinks they might have tapped into my phone by now, as well as my house. As soon as I reached the station I could see Lee waiting, he looked nervous even scared as he moved from foot to foot. I ran over to him as the expression on his face had me freaking out. “Hey Lee, what’s up?” I asked him as I gave him our usual man hug. “You’re not going to like this, but we can’t do it here,” he said as he started to drag me towards an unmarked car. “Hey, Lee man, what the hells going on? You’re worrying me now?” I asked him sternly. A man in an expensive suit shoved me into the car before getting back into the drivers side with Lee right behind me. I kept asking them questions but none of them was speaking at all, I finally gave up and just sat staring out of the window.

We had been driving for what felt like hours but was probably only an hour or two at the most, before we pulled into an old derelict building. My heart speed up with pure excitement at the thought that they could be surprising me, the thought that Sheena could be inside there had me jumping out of the car and running for the building. Nevertheless, as I walked into the building my heart sunk, as there was no Sheena, there was nothing, it was completely empty. Feeling my body filling with so much anger scared me but I shook it off, “Damon,” I heard Lee calling. However, right now, I just wanted to hit him for getting my hopes up so high, but then I thought of how he had never even said one word to me. I knew it was my fault; I had so badly wanted it to be Sheena that I just jumped to the wrong conclusions. “Damon, come here,” Lee said from the other side of the building. The whole place looked as if it was going to fall down any minute, as there wasn’t even a roof and the main walls even had bricks missing here and there. I felt a hand grab hold of my arm; my natural instincts took over, as I went to fight whoever it was off me. However, as I spun around I saw Lee looking distraught. My eyes filled up as it killed me being like this, I knew I was a wreck hell I was like a time bomb just waiting to go off. “I’m sorry Lee” I apologized, “its ok man, I couldn’t even to begin to think how I would be, if it was Cherelle out there so please forget it” he replied. “Lee we need to do this now before anyone notices us missing” the suited guy said. I watched Lee as he nodded to the man, before turning and nodding at me to follow.

We walked for a while before entering what looked to me as a bush, but it was actually some kind of hide out. It was completely made of wood and it surprised me that it even had electric. Once we walked into what looked like a small kitchen I saw a middle-aged man sitting at the table. “About time” he shouted sternly. I could hear them all talking before they all turned to face me. “Damon please to meet you, we are FBI uncover agents, Tony and I’m Fergal.” he said while holding his hand out for me to shake. I shook both of there hands and then took a sit along side Lee. “Well Damon first thing first, we have mange to find the moles” hearing Tony saying moles made me zone out. As all along, I thought we had a mole but more than one was unheard of. I had to cut in” What do you mean moles there is actually more than one?” I asked shocked and panicking more then ever. “Yes, we have had our suspicions for a while now however; we haven’t had any evidence to back us up.” He stopped, as if to give me time to take in what he had just said, I nodded my head for him to go on. ”Sheena’s parents as you know are high up drugs lords and have many contacts throughout. Nevertheless, one of our team has now managed to gain their trust inside prison, along with another undercover officer who has managed to get in with their people on the outside.

They have been planning their escape, but the only thing that they don’t realise yet is that the FBI is their escape. Sheena is still out there somewhere, but she must be hiding well because none of us can even track her down. Even today, we got a call matching her description but once we had it checked out, we found out it wasn’t her.

 So now what we need you to do for us now is firstly to hand over your phone and then we are going to have an electrician to search your house for any other devices they might have planted.” I was trying so hard to take in everything he was saying, but I was so worried and frustrated that I just couldn’t seem to take it all in. It was as if agent Fergal had read my thoughts as he cut in, “I think that is enough for now, but what we need you to know is that you are not to trust anyone! Only us here, do you understand?” he said sternly, but I could hear his concern in every word he spoke. ”Yes I understand, but there is one thing I want to ask you, how do we know they haven’t got Sheena held hostage somewhere?” I spoke my thoughts aloud. “Well right now as we speak I have uncover agents all over the place watching out for any signs of Sheena, I promise you now Damon, I will not stop until I find her,” he told with so much honesty. I felt like a ton of bricks had been lifted off me, just by knowing it was not just Lee and me anymore but we had help, honest help.

A few hours later, we arrived back at the station. However, they still wouldn’t tell me who the moles where no matter how much I begged them, they just kept saying it would be better for me if I didn’t know. Yeah right as if, if I knew who they where then I could help, I thought to myself.

Later that night I climbed into bed and started going over everything I was told of today. Although I knew I should be feeling excited and grateful for all that, I have found out today, I wasn’t. To be honest right now I don’t care about finding  the moles or her family or whom ever else they want to find, all I want is to have Sheena safely back in my arms.

 As soon as my eyes closed, visions of Sheena out in the cold with her swollen belly all alone with nothing shattered me. I could even picture her crying and holding her self.  I felt the wetness from my tears running down my cheeks as I pulled Sheena’s pillow into my chest. While taking in her scent I wished with all my heart that it were Sheena I was cuddling and not just some damn pillow.

I woke up scared and sweating from what felt real but opening my sleepy eyes I knew it was just another nightmare.  It was as if Sheena was calling out to me, she was panicking and screaming so much that it felt so real. I sat up leaning my back against the headboard. As I closed my eyes clearing them of sleep, it was as if I was staring at Sheena’s face she was crying hysterically calling out to me. My heart started beating erratically; I could hear her cries for help so clearly it was like she was here in the room with me. I couldn’t stand it, it was killing me, as it didn’t feel like a dream or even a nightmare it felt real as if she was trying to tell me something. I leaped out of bed and got dressed while calling Lee, something is not right, I can’t stand it I have to do something, I told myself.

On the third ring Lee answered “Lee something has happened to Sheena I know you think I’ve gone mad but Lee this is too real to be some dream I swear to god she’s in some type of danger” I told him, panicking like hell.

“I’m on my way I will make a few calls now to see what I can find out ok, just try and stay calm. Oh and Damon I don’t think you have gone mad as Cherelle thinks something has happened as well and has been freaking out here.” He replied before hanging up.

 I started pacing the floors of the kitchen waiting for Lee. Every second was starting to feel like hours; Sheena’s cries kept going through me it was as if I was living in a nightmare. I felt empty and numb and her cries where shattering me into pieces. I needed to find her and now, I don’t care what I have to do but I need to find her.

As soon as I heard the doorbell, I ran down the hall to the front door. “Lee, please tell me you found out something?” I asked feeling so distressed. Then as I looked into Lee’s face, my panic turned into horror as he looked like death. “Damon you were not dreaming, Sheena was seen being kidnapped by her families’ mob tonight. Our insider has advised to get her out of there as soon as possible.” I could see he was holding something back as it was written all over his face. “Lee tell me,” I screamed at him. “Our men over heard a conversation, and let’s just say we are now running out of time.” Lee responded.  My blood ran cold; knowing that my worst nightmare since the day Sheena had gone missing was now becoming reality. “Sheena baby I’m coming, I promise I will find you, hang in there Sheena. I love you.” I shouted mentally hoping she would hear me. 

As I got into the passenger seat of Lee's car I had the worst feeling ever flow right through me. I didnt know what it was and I couldnt shake it off me, but the one thing I did know was this was not going to end well.
