Smiling at the sound of screaming children, Xavier wrapped his arm around his lover. He and Lilo had only been dating for a little more than two months, but Xavier absolutely adored Lilo's kid Blake and the feeling was returned.

They stayed at the park until the sun had gone away completely. They'd originally planned to leave at sunset, but Xavier never could tell Blake no, and, when the two worked together, neither could Lilo. Leaving the park, the little family climbed into the car and made their way to the supermarket with Xavier and Blake equally talking a mile a minute. 

"--then I gave up and pushed him down the slide! He didn't like that though. So he chased me around and around and eventually we ended up playing tag!" Blake paused from his story-telling, finally taking a deep breath. He was telling his dads how he'd met his new best friend. 

Lilo smiled at him through the rear-view mirror, while Xavier chuckled turning around in his seat to face the munchkin. "That's great buddy, glad you're making friends. But you know you can't push people. That's rude."

Blake rolled his eyes, though the smile never left the six year old's face. "I know that, Pops! Can I finish my story now?"

The couple stopped breathing for a moment. "Sure, bud." Lilo laughed and took Xavier's hand with a knowing look and kissed it gently.
