other friends

Charlotte frowned.

"Who the hell are they?"

She spoke in a fast and curt voice. It was clear that she didn't approve of this.

Blake grinned, glad his best friend was finally here. He'd been waiting hours to finally introduce Charlotte to his newer friends. "Finally, you're here! These are my other friends -" He stops short, taking notice of Charlotte's tone of voice. "What's wrong, Charlie?"

She had heard all she needed to hear. Putting on a faux smile, Charlotte put an arm around Blake's shoulder (the other gripping a small cold object in her coat pocket), leading Blake to the front door. "Actually, Blake, I forgot the chicken. Yeah, I know right: I can't make you blood-orange chicken without the chicken," she laughs opening the door for him. "Be a dear and run to the store, yeah?"

Blake nodded and glanced back to his friends (who'd been awfully quiet until then). "Do you guys want anything?"

"No, we're good."

"Okay, then I'll be back in a minute."

"Bye Blake-y~!" The faux smile faded as Charlotte closed and locked the door behind Blake. She took a knife out of her coat pocket, smiling darkly at the group of friends.

They looked terrified. They'd heard rumors about Charlotte, though most of them were false. Still, the friends gulped.

Charlotte's grip on the knife tightened, "Guess I should get started on the sauce, hm?"

The friend's vision went out one by one.

"Well, how do you like it, Blake?" Charlotte set her butter knife and fork down, pushing her plate away to lean forward on her red-stained hands.

Blake smiled, replying happily, "It's really good! Though you may need a new mixing bowl because it had a metallic taste to it."

Taking the plates into the kitchen, Charlotte smiled knowingly.

"I'll take that into consideration."
