Meet And Greet

(A/N: Sorry, this chapter's short, but I promise I will try to make the next one longer! This was just an idea I had when I was sick so I thought it'd be fun. Carry on!)

~Mark

"Beep, beep, be-" With a soft moan, I slapped my alarm, making the insistent beeping sound cease. "Ugh, it's Monday." I complained as I lurched up to a sitting position. "I need to record a video." Still seated on my bed, I leaned over towards my computer that was sitting on my desk and clicked on the monitor. I squinted at the wall to see what day it on the was calendar as I fumbled to untangle myself from all of my blankets I was wrapped in. August 3rd, a Sunday. "Wait...it's Sunday!!" I exclaimed excitedly. Today was the day I went to Ireland to visit one of my best friends in the world, Sean Mcloughlin, otherwise known as Jackcepticeye. In my excitement, I fell face first on the floor, the blankets twisting around my legs. "Ow." I winced as I crashed down to the ground, the carpet cushioning my fall slightly. "My neighbors are gonna hate me, it's not even in the PM." At last, I had finally unwrapped myself free from my fuzzy restraints. It was only five in the morning. "Gotta have time to finish packing and get to the airport." I picked myself off the floor and tossed the blankets back on the bed as I went to the kitchen.

"Top o' the morning to ya ladies, my name is Jackcepticeye-" "Wow, that's way too loud, even for my standards." I cringed as I turned down the volume of my intro. I was editing one of my newer videos, which was a video from Happy Wheels. "I wonder if Mark's up so I can prank-call him." I mused as I fiddled with the brightness for my video. "Fuck it, I'm gonna call him!" I smirked as I turned off my computers and dialed Mark's number. He picked up on the third ring. "Mfph." Mark answered. "Uh, you okay Mark?" I chuckled as the phone grew quiet. "Hey, sorry I was brushing my teeth!" Mark said before bursting out laughing. I laughed with him for a few minutes. "So, what's up?" I could hear water rushing in Mark's background. "You can't come to Ireland anymore, I'm sorry..." I paused to think of a good lie. "I'm sick." I fake-coughed and sniffed to make sure he believed me. He definitely did. I guess I really was a good liar. "Oh, um...okay then." Mark sighed. I could practically taste his disappointment from across the world. "Wait I was kidding!" I shouted into the phone as the call ended. "Damn it!" I cursed as I re-dialed Mark's number. He didn't pick up. "Hey, this is Mark, leave a message." Beep. "Hey Mark, I was just joking, you can totally still come to see me...I really still want you to come...I wanna show you this cool place that just opened up reccently. Anyway, just call me back, okay?" I ended the message.

"You can't come to Ireland anymore, I'm sorry..." Jack trailed off. "I'm sick." I could hear a muffled cough and a sniffle. "Oh, um...okay then." I hung my head in disappointment. I was looking forward to seeing him again ever since we planned this last month. I could've swore I heard him say something else as I ended the call, but I ignored it. It was probably him coughing again. "I guess I'm going to unpack." I trudged down the hallway with my suitcase dragging behind me. "We were gonna hang out for a whole week and play video games." Tears rapidly began filling my eyes. "Wow, I'm such a man-baby." I wiped away the tears with the back of my arm. "Now what am I gonna do for a week?" I called out to the silence surrounding me. From beneath me, I could hear the muffled shout of my neighbor, most likely telling me to be quiet. "I'll unpack later," I assured myself as I dumped my suitcase on my bed. "Recording always makes me fell better." I plopped down is my black chair and began recording a vlog. "Hello everybody, my name is Markiplier and-" A loud ring interrupted my video. I retrieved my phone from where it laid forgotten on my pillow. "Not now Jack," I just let the phone continue ringing so he could record a message. "Anyway..."

"Hey Mark, I was just joking, you can totally still come to see me...I really still want you to come...I wanna show you this cool place that just opened up reccently. Anyway, just call me back, okay?" I re-played the message to make sure Jack wasn't pranking me again. Sure enough, he wasn't! My heart filled up with hope and happiness. My finger hovered over the green icon to call Jack and tell him I'm coming. I shrugged and instead turned off my phone. "I'll make my visit a surprise!" I laughed quietly as I threw my suitcase into the trunk of my car and drove off towards the airport.

"Hey Jack, hope you get better soon, hey Jacky boy get better," I continued reading aloud tweet after tweet from fans telling me to get better, my face growing redder and redder as I read each one. "How did they-oh god." I checked Mark's channel on YouTube. The first video that showed up on the screen was a vlog titled "Get Better Soon". Reluctantly, I clicked on it and watched Mark explain why he wasn't going to see me this week. Did he not get the message? I thought, my panic level rising steadily. This joke got way out of hand. In the middle of his intro, his phone cut him off. "Not now Jack," Mark sighed as he continued. "Fuck!" I tilted my head back and screamed as loud as I could to the ceiling. This was one of those times when I was glad I had foam covering my walls.

"Please fasten your seat belts, we will be landing in Dublin, Germany in approximately fifteen minutes." A feminine voice warned us over the intercom. The clicking of metal filled the tight space for a brief moment. I glanced out the window, the bright blue sky brightening my already good mood. "Hey, I know you!" A woman in the seat in front of me turned around and gasped. "You're Markiplier!" Almost immediately, everyone began murmuring amongst themselves and asking me questions. At least the crowd was small. I was amazed by the variety of ages and races that were gathered around me "Woah, just hang on a sec." I waited patiently until everyone settled down. I gestured for a woman wearing a black business suit speak first. "Why are you flying to Ireland? If you don't mind me asking." She added hastily as she blushed, her pale face turning scarlet. "I'm guessing you saw my most recent vlog?" Most of the crowd nodded. "Apparently, Jack prank-called me." Now it was my turn to blush of embarrassment. I could feel the tips of my ears and my face heat up. To my surprise, everyone just laughed. Slowly, I joined them. Soon, the entire plane was filled with laughter, which made my smile grow wider. "Please exit the plane in a single file line..." The flight attendant droned on about how she thanks us for flying with them, but she was drowned out by my fans. "Good luck Mark! Good luck Mark!" They chanted as I stood up. The woman that was sitting in front of me reached up and took my suitcase down from the rack since I was too short to reach it. She smiled warmly at me as she joined the chanting. Hesitantly, I walked to the front of the plane with my suitcase in tow. I turned back around to face my fans. "Thank you so much and I can't wait to see you all again!" I shouted out to all of them. They cheered in response and began lining up to leave.

"Taxi!" I yelled and waved my arms wildly at the passing black car. The man standing beside me snorted with amusement. "That wasn't a taxi." "Oh." My face started heating up again. "Here, let me help." Without a moment's hesitation, the guy ran right in front of a taxi while shouting stop. "Wait!" I called after him, but it was too late. I covered my eyes, expecting to hear the thud of the man hitting the hood of the car. Instead, there was the screech of wheels and curse words from the driver. Slightly out of breath, the man stumbled in front of me. "There you go." He huffed as he swayed over back to the sidewalk. The black taxi with the "Dublin Taxis" logo on the side honked its horn and crept forward a couple of inches. "You coming or not?" The driver grumbled as I hurriedly tossed my suitcase in the trunk and clambered into the backseat. "Where to?" He twisted back to face me, his neck popping loudly. "Athlone, please." I handed him a bundle of British currency. "You do know that's almost a one and a half hour ride, right?" I nodded to show I understood. "Alright then." With a whine, we continued driving down the street. I yawned, feeling the jet lag catch up to me. I leaned my head on the window and fell asleep instantly to the growl of the engine and soft classic rock music playing through the radio.
