Don’t go anywhere, stay by my side
Even it I say that now, it’s too late
I drew you even in my dreams,
but I guess you just went and changed
Who knows, you could come back
Is it even worth saying?
You did last time
I think it’s hopeless
You’re the one who made this collapse, yeah

Waking up with a heaving chest, tears brimmed in his eyes, and sweat forming on his skin, Felix slapped Chan's body with aggressive pats to wake the older. Chan's muffled groans of annoyance made their way to Felix's ears, his breath hitching even more to the acknowledgment of Chan's dismay. Even so, his slaps continued.
Realising something was wrong from the weak hits that landed on his shoulder, Chan sprung up, only to see his love whimper in pain whilst clutching onto the bedsheets. His eyes ran over the scrunches and crinkles contorted on the boy's face, the sweat that puddled around his neck, the tears that streamed on his face, and his short and rapid breaths of hyperventilation.
Chan rushed to his aid, holding the frail boy in his arms. The once honey-coloured tan that washed over the younger's body now unfortunately matched with his boyfriend's fair tone. Maybe even paler...
"H-Hospital." The croaky voice of Felix somehow managed to let his words flow, yet the manner of the request- hell, the request, in general, had a rush of anxiety run all over Chan's body, leaving him in a state of numbness for a few seconds. He couldn't falter now, not when his love needed him.
Chan placed the boy ever so gently in the car, not caring about his appearance to the outside world... not when his world- Felix was near the gates of Heaven.
He sped down the roads, not giving a fret about anything else other than getting his beloved the care he so desperately needed. He stole glances at the boy seated beside him, his heart breaking at the sight of his boyfriend struggling for air. Muttering a jumble of you're going to be okay and I love you, the pace of his heart quickened as the sight of the hospital came into view.
Sloppily parking, rushing out the car door, and jogging his way around to pick up the boy in his arms, he paid no mind to locking his car as the only worry that clouded his mind at that very moment was the fragile body that shivered in his hold.
Chan burst his way through the hospital, alerting the staff of their presence. A nurse rushed to their aid as she noticed the familiar face of Felix, which no longer held the happiness it once displayed.
Felix was rushed into a room, leaving Chan alone in the hallway. The staff had instructed him to wait an agonising long time as they worked on Felix's condition. After about an hour, a doctor had made his way out of the room, now walking towards Chan. Giving him a nod of permission, Chan practically jumped out of his seat, running into the room after the news of Felix's current state.
His body froze as he saw his lover wired up to every machine possible whilst laying limp in the hospital bed. Wasting no further time, he made his way forward with a gentle stride, now slowly taking a seat in the chair beside the boy.
Felix instantly took a hold of Chan's hand at the recognition of his presence. Tears fell on his faded freckles, and at this, Chan too let his own cries fill the air.
"I'm s-so sorry," Felix whispered in a hushed tone, as his tears clogged up his voice in his throat. "I'm sorry, Channie. I love y-you." He whimpered out.
Felix focused on the wet streams that rolled down the pale cheeks of his boyfriend. Guilt started to brew within him, knowing that their time together would no longer be the forever they promised.
Chan tried to stifle his cries, not wanting to worry him any longer. That was until his head snapped up to Felix's voice, his words forming a crack in his heart, not knowing a crack was also lashed onto Felix's.
"It's okay to move on... I won't blame you." Felix's voice cracked as he heaved through his words. The mere thought of leaving Chan left an aching in his heart, causing more strain to the already faint heartbeat.
"W-What?" Any colour that was left on Chan's face had definitely drained itself with the new words that were spoken by his beloved.
"Once I'm gone, you're allowed to love someone as you love me." As much as he didn't want this, as much as he hated this, he couldn't constrict him from loving again. They're young, and maybe they weren't meant to be. Maybe this is their fate. The conclusion of their story as Chan finds another to begin with someone else, whereas Felix's ends here. Or maybe they were meant to be, but just not in this lifetime.
"Don't. Please don't." Chan's heart ached with tears flowing out his chest. His grip tightened around Felix's hand, not ever wanting to let go of the angel before him. To the older's dismay, he didn't realise that his angel was returning to where he once belonged. His home. His home... without Chan.
Felix rubbed his hand over Chan's, in the hope to give some comfort. "I'm sorry our time was limited... but my love for you was anything but." Choking on his sobs, his lips trembled.
"Why are you saying this?" And in turn, Chan's lips started to tremble along with the beating of his heart at Felix's sudden confession. Felix however tried his best to lean over, and plant a small kiss on his cheek near his mouth. "Tell me you love me." He whispered against his lips, tracing over the tear-stricken face of the older.
"I love you. I- I love you so much. I'll never love another. I love you, and t-that's a promise." Chan stuttered over his words, face to face with Felix. He held onto his hand that hovered over his cheeks, as he placed his other arm around the younger's waist to keep his stance.
They stared at each other's eyes, not wanting the eye contact to ever break. Felix's eyes became heavy, anxiety now running through his mind. Chan noticed, thinking he felt a slight bit tired, urging him to sleep. However, he was unaware of the flat-lining on the machine next to him.
With one last final kiss, Felix murmured against Chan's lips, loud and clear for him to hear until he fell limp onto his bed.
"I love you too, Channie. And that's a promise."
