I don’t want to accept it
I’m still missing you
How could I forget?
We promised
I don’t want to accept it
I can’t understand
How could I forget
the day you lied to me?

They had both ditched the comfort of their bedsheets, turning off their movie. Hurriedly grabbing their shoes, they were now running down the steps of their apartment complex to the park nearby to lay themselves across the shaved grass. Giggling at their sudden burst of energy, they ran around the open, occasionally twirling each other in their hold, before allowing themselves to finally rest against the ground.
The moonlight danced over their skin, the grass tickled their backs and the wind blew a soft breeze, leaving small goosebumps to form over their necks. Their hands lay gently within each other's, relishing in the warmth they spread.
One looked at the other. His head slightly tilted to his left, peeking through his lashes to make a view of the man beside him. His lips curved into a small smile, snuggling just a little closer.
These next words brought heartbreak, but they also brought love. His affection was laced in his voice, despite the lurking sadness. He lifted his finger and extended his arm up into the air. Pointing at the night sky, he whispered in a hushed tone, "When you look at those stars, think of us, okay?"
Although confusion was spread over the other's face, he nodded his head and allowed a smile to rest on his lips. He shifted his gaze from the boy who voiced his strange but cute request and looked back up to the stars. He knew those stars would never compare to the beauty of the man laying next to him.
"I should've brought a blanket". With dismaying the previous request from the boy, he changed the topic with a casual statement. The boy was grateful due to the change in topic, having no further questions asked.
"You wanted a picnic now? It's midnight, you fish." He let out a giggle, looking at the unimpressed face of the older.
The little fits of laughter brought a smile to latch onto his face, his heartbeat quickening to the beautiful music. "You still have a cold, dummy." He whispered, as his voice held a slight tremble of worry.
Moving closer to the younger, he let the boy cuddle closer against his chest. His fingers brushed through the knots of his lover's hair, a smile on his face as he enjoyed his presence with the silence giving them their privacy, despite the public setting.
A small sigh was heaved, barely audible. The "beauty" tried looking at his lover with his eyes, tears nearing to fall.
This was precious. Of course, they had both treasured every moment they had with one another. However, one didn't realise that their time together wouldn't be forever, obliviously letting each second pass by with a half-hearted love, whilst the other's heart ached with every memory he cherished, which would soon only become a moment in time.
He knew their time was limited, therefore he knew that he needed to make the most of what he- they had left. Knowing the truth of his destiny was cruel, but knowing the truth of his lover's pain that would accessorise with his destiny hurt worse.
At times, he regretted meeting him. He loves him, so very much. But knowing the other would be in pain, in the end, wasn't worth the high. Their love was bittersweet, yet one wasn't aware. One was scared of leaving; of hurting; of regretting; and unfortunately, of loving. Whilst the other was left in the darkness of his own oblivion.
At the same time, he didn't regret meeting him, as he was the only person worth the extension of his time. He learned so much by being with him, and he even taught the other. Skating, baking, bowling, singing, dancing. Many of their favourite activities they once were able to do. Now only impossible as excuses left his mouth each time his lover would propose such activities again.
Even so, they continue to grow with one another. Their many skills gained off of one another, however, were nowhere near compared to the one skill- well rather feeling they had both learnt and attained.
Love. The feeling; the chemical; the emotion. Call it whatever you want. But to them, their love is each other.
Their love is their happiness and sadness, their anger and excitement, their perfection and imperfections, their everything and nothing.
Their love is one and their love is alone. Their love is whole and their love is apart. Their love is Chan, and their love is Felix. And in the end, that's all that matters.
