Several gasps echoed in the hall.
But Jimin couldn't care less. He rushed off the altar and didn't turn back when his father called his name.
"Taehyung," he called out, voice cracking slightly.
He ran as fast as his legs could carry him through the corridors, until he heard sobbing and a voice that sounded like Jungkook's.
"Tae!" He cried, following the sound and just as he thought, Taehyung sat against the wall, palms pressed against his eyes while Jungkook tried his best to soothe him.
"Move, Jungkook!" Jimin demanded and maybe it sounded rude but Jimin couldn't find it in him to care right then, mind focused on Taehyung.
Jungkook seemed to understand though as he moved aside, allowing Jimin the opportunity to grip Taehyung and pull him into a much needed hug.
"Baby. It's your mimi," Jimin whispered, tears dripping down his cheeks.
"No-" Taehyung choked out trying to push the man away.
"I'm sorry," Jimin choked out.
"You're not...not mine," Taehyung sobbed, weakly attempting to push the man away again.
"I'm yours. Just yours," Jimin said firmly, "I love you."
"Lies!" Taehyung shouted, tears rolling down faster, "You left me for him! You—"
"Wanted to make my parents proud and did it for them. I hurt you in the process and I hate... I hate myself for doing that to you."
Taehyung was silent, tears rolling down his cheeks.
"I hurt you so much when I should have protected you, when I should have held you and loved you."
Taehyung's face crumpled and Jimin tugged him into his arms.
"I never stopped loving you. Never did. I love you so much, Taehyung but I...I put my parents first. I put their happiness first. I prioritised them over you and I...I fucked up. I fucked up so bad, Tae. I know I did. But I couldn't do it now. Couldn't bear to spend the rest of my life beside anyone other than you. I realised that the minute I stood on that altar. The only man I wish to stand with there is you, the only man I wish to make eye contact with as I read off my wedding vows is you."
Jimin felt his own throat start to close up.
"I fucked up. I knew it. But I had no guts to go against my parents wishes, until now. I can't bear to hurt you anymore, can't bear to be the reason behind your pain, behind your tears. Baby, I am so sorry. I fucked up. I am sorry."
Taehyung clutched Jimin's shirt tight, unable to speak.
Jimin pulled away and cupped the younger's cheek, "is it too late for me to seek your forgiveness? Is it too late for me to ask you to give me another chance so I can treat you right, love you right?"
Taehyung shook his head, the sobs escaping him making it hard for him to formulate words.
"I want...I need...Jimin. Please, I can't...Can't live without y-you. I can't...please. Need you. I- please."
Jimin kissed him softly and held him tight, "I'm not going anywhere. I'm not leaving you again. I made that mistake once. I am not doing it again. I love you so much. I want you in my life, Tae, as my lover. As my life partner. As my one and only. I need you."
Taehyung gripped Jimin hard, cheek resting against Jimin's shoulder as he soaked up all the comfort and love that the older showered him with, like a man starved of his basic needs.
"I love you," Taehyung whispered, "I couldn't... couldn't see you there. Couldn't imagine you with anyone else. Seeing you there...I thought I'd lost you forever...it killed me."
Taehyung wailed, gripping Jimin tighter as though he would disappear if he didn't.
"Jimin...my Jimin. Mine only. Please."
"Shh, shh, my baby. Shh, I'm here. I'm yours. Just yours. I'm here. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry I hurt you. I'm so sorry I left you. Never again. Never again."
Jungkook wiped away a tear and blinked continuously to stop the rest of his tears from falling. Damn these emotional bastards for making him cry.
