Build: Bulky to the point of chubbiness. Soft around the edges.

Personality: Orion's really sweet, in an almost puppy-dog like way. He loves other dragons, although he doesn't always go about showing it in the most confident nor social way. He just likes being around others. He isn't afraid of physical contact, and is more likely to hug you than shakes talons with you right after he meets you for the first time. (Hello stranger let me hug you) He's mostly genuine, kind, and spills praise more than he should. He's boosted more than a few egos past a safe level (Cough cough Torpor cough) multiple times before. He understands when dragons need their space, although he cannot deny that he isn't hurt even a little when someone tells him to leave them alone. Has moments of sensitivity and extreme-worry. He's also very susceptible to the feelings of others to the point of being able to read what emotion someone else is feeling, and can tell when another dragon is lying.

Other: Alrighty, time for some background on why his scales are like that.

Scentmaker, his grandmother on his mother's side, once had an affair with an animus SeaWing prince. It didn't last very long, but in their short time, the SeaWing had made the NightWing botanist a gift; Three pendants she called 'Moon-Charms' that she wore around her neck. Both beautiful and functional, the three necklaces held the power of the moons, allowing her to help flowers bloom that only opened on the night of the full moons. After their short relationship ended, she went back to the Night Village and met his mother's father, Reminiscence. Scentmaker passed the three charms down to her eldest daughter, Orion's mother, who had taken after her and had become a botanist as well.

Now, in comes Orion's father. Strengthmeasure (Father) and Bloomingwing (Mother) had two eggs. One was dead in its egg within forty-eight hours, but the other was strong and healthy. Strengthmeasure is a Parapsychologist; One who studies 'supernatural cases and abilities'. For the NightWings, he was the kind of scientist who tested the limits of the tribe's power, figured out ways to use it, and learned all he could about their moon-born powers despite having none himself.

On the night of his single egg's hatching, out of pure scientific curiosity, Strength took one of Blooming's Moon-Charms and hung it over Orion's nest, so that the false moonlight would hit the shell and possibly give his only dragonet powers. Yet, instead of absorbing into the NightWing like normal moonlight, the fake light went straight into his scales, much like it did with the petals of a flower. The charms weren't meant for dragons; only for plants. Instead of the dragonet hatching with an ability, Orion hatched with bright white-blue scales and an underbelly like that of the night sky.

Although angry with her mate for testing on their child without thinking first, Blooming eventually forgave him and began to love her odd dragonet, and to appreciate his unique beauty.

(In a way, the charm worked, though. Orion would of received mind reading if he'd been born under true moonlight; instead, he received the ability to read emotions. He can't tell what you're thinking, but he can tell what you're feeling.)
