Chapter Twelve
~Time Skip~
A month went by, and Clyde didn't have any more mental breakdown since. We had basically went back to normal until one day at lunch. I was eating with the girls, and Bebe had mentions something yet again about her and Clyde when they were dating. It never really bothered me too much. Clyde hated Bebe, so her not being over him didn't really bother me all too much.
"I just remember that when Clyde and I were together..."
I had zoned out after that. Clyde wasn't the guy he was when they were together, and I was very aware of that. At first I thought her stories would be helpful, but they really weren't. Everything she had said was really just irrelevant.
After lunch was dismissed, I went to class, but Clyde stopped me.
"Hey, can we talk?" He asked in a rather serious tone.
I nodded, and he grabbed my wrist and pulled me to the side.
"I really think you need to start sitting with me at lunch" he stated.
"What why?" I asked, shocked.
"I just- I really don't think I like your friends. Bebe isn't a good person, and Wendy doesn't fall far from the tree. Red is just like them, and Lola tries her hardest to be just like them too. Look, I've known them a lot longer than you, and I'm not kidding when I say they aren't well liked. I want you to be well liked. I feel as if it would be better that you just sit with me for now on," he explained.
I really did not want to listen to him, but by now, I knew Clyde. I knew that I wouldn't win this fight. I never win these fights because he didn't trust me, and this was just another way for me to get a closer to him to trust me. I didn't really care about those girls. Clyde's happiness was all that mattered.
"Yeah, okay," I smiled back at him.
