Chapter Thirteen
I really thought I had made the right choice until Wendy approached me after lunch the next day.
"Hey (Y/N), what was that at lunch today?" she asked.
"Oh, Clyde asked me to sit with him," I shrugged.
"Oh so now you are going to leave for Clyde at lunch as well?" she asked.
"As well?" I questioned. "I see you guys all the time in class."
"That mayb (Y/N), but you've changed. You are very quiet now. You never talk to us anymore. You're not you anymore-"
"You don't know who I AM," I pointed out, getting upset. "I just moved here. Don't act like you instantly know who I am just because of how you want me to be."
She seemed to be taken back by my outburst, "(Y/N), this is what I mean. You seemed so nice, but now you're ditching your friends for a guy you barely know-"
"I barely know you people too," I remarked before walking away.
I spent the rest of the day not talking to anyone. I was fuming. I couldn't stand to talk to anyone, for I could see myself freaking out of everyone. After school, I waited for Clyde to get out of practice like usual and went over to his house where he could tell that I was still stirred up about something.
"Babe, what's wrong?" he asked.
"Oh it's really nothing," I waved off.
He frowned, "No, what's wrong?"
"It's just the girls. They were complaining about all the time I spend with you. That's ridiculous, right?" I stated.
"You see this is why I don't like you hanging out with them They are all fake bitches that just want to see you unhappy," he said. "I told you this a long time ago."
He rolled over in the bed to see the tv while I was left facing his back. I had to admit, I was starting to get irritated with him. His nonchalant I don't give a fuck about anything attitude was starting to drive me nuts. Would it have killed him to act like he cared a little bit about me?
I couldn't help but cry. It was so sudden, and I couldn't stop the hot tears from running down my face.
Clyde instantly turned back around, "Now what?"
"Would it kill you to care a little?" I spat. "I'm losing my friends because of you. I'm losing my life, and you just turn around to watch tv."
He held me in his arm, "(Y/N), I've known those girls a lot longer than you realize. I've seen the way they've turned on each other, and in two years, we'll be out of here. You are my long term plan, and hoped to be yours. They'll hurt you in one way or another, and I can't stand to see you hurt. In two years, we'll be blowing this place, understand?"
I hugged him back, "I'm sorry. I love you."
"I love you too," he whispered.
