Sage
After I sat down next to Julia, I contemplated what to do in order to act inconspicuous. I decided that looking out the window would be the best course of action. Suddenly, I realized something and pulled out my phone to text Lili.
We don't know where we are going, do we? I asked. I watched the speech bubble bounce as she typed her reply.
He's reading again and using his ticket as a bookmark. It says we are headed to Patras. I looked it up and it's on the coast.
I showed the texts to Julia. She typed something in her notes and showed it to me. I shrugged and told Lili.
Julia is wondering if maybe we are headed to an island?
Maybe. All the Ionian Islands are close to Patras. she responded.
Ooh. That would be exciting. I had always wanted to visit an island, and a semi-tropical one was even better. I hoped an island was our final destination. Excitedly, I showed Julia and she nodded, then continued reading.
After a few hours, I got hungry and suggested we eat, so we left for the dining car. I ordered seafood and an iced tea. Julia gagged when she saw my plate of steamed lobster with rice and asparagus, but enjoyed her steak (ugh) and salad. I don't know what Lili ordered, because she was sitting apart from us, but I figured it didn't really matter.
After dinner, we went back to our seats and watched as the city of Patras came into view, with the sun setting behind it over the sea.
